A list of puns related to "Comparison of eDonkey software"
Hi all, Iβm wondering if anyone has any insight/experience to compare the career paths of a Process Engineer who works in large tech companies (like in Semiconductor Manufacturing), and a Software engineer?
Specifically, how do the fields stack up in terms of things like potential compensation, opportunities for career advancement, and overall quality of life?
Thanks!
A bit of an simple question but maybe not.
In my experience, I'm pretty sure I can now say that for today, 2021, I have much better results in isolating vocals from songs via website (the best ones and most famous for me are Acapella-extractor:com and Lalal:ai) but the first one often doesn't accept a certain song for no reason and the second one is based on credits, so money etc.
But, they legit are beating all the methods you can find on youtube via stock plugins or even AAA plugins that costs an entire body like iZotope RX9 Audio Editor. (1.200$ when not in sale - 800$ actually for the cyber monday sales)
RX9 is probably the "best" plugin called when it comes to edit/repair audio and I don't doubt about it for 99% of its uses. But the Music Rebalance, which is the feature that is supposed to isolate vocals, or percs, or synths etc, is not good everytime.
I put some examples below.
Not to shame iZotope, their plugin is a monster in general, and sometimes Music Rebalance works well, but my point here is that websites algo (like the ones I gave before) are faaaaar away in results, cleaner and richer.
I used it many many times, and my only regret is that those websites needs money to run (that's legit on one side) so you can't convert endlessly.
So I was like "Ok man, you're not a beginner with you DAW, maybe you can do without those sites which are (mostly) for beginner who wants fast results, and do the same by yourself, more efforts but no need to buy credits, endless convertions"
But here we are. All (ALL) the methodes that I can find except those sites leads to worst results. Quick example for those who don't want to try those sites, if I isolate vocals from any song with Lalal:ai for example, the instrumental and the vocals (in separate tracks) are insanely clean, it's really like you have the stems. Tbh at the beginning it was so unbelievable that I thought it was fake to make you buy credits. I thought that they had the stems and made you think that this is how it sounds when edited, like "Look how good is it, buy our credits" xD
It may sounds idiot but if you experienced a lot isolating vocals past years, you would probably react like I did. We are used to good results with our technology, but no insane results, there's always artifacts and weird effects like when you EQ a lot, water effect you know ? Like if the song was played underwater !
And, besids its price and reputation and all, RX9 does the same results. Very good
I just finished performing a large thermal inspection of an industrial facility with a Fluke TI480Pro, and in processing the 5000 images I'm going mental.
The Fluke Connect software is total garbage. The smartview software is slightly better, but it's only 32 bit, so it crashes when I open over 300 thermal images and it doesn't offer the ability to set things other than scale and marker status during batch editing. You can't batch-assign the status field, and you can't multi-select images. You can't view the image metadata for more than one image at a time, without clicking on each image and viewing its information. This creates a new info window for every single image. You can't set isotherms or color alarms across multiple images. You can't easily manipulate marker naming.
We're borrowing the TI480pro right now, and Fluke told us that we can't buy one because they don't have the chips and they're discontinuing the 460 and 480 pro. The alternative they suggested isn't 640x480, doesn't support autofocus, and has no external lens support. These are dealbreakers for us.
As a result, we're looking into getting a FLIR E96. I'm curious if anyone has experience with the FLIR desktop software, either their classic one equivilent to Fluke Smartview, or their new fancy cloud based one that is equivilent to Fluke Connect. Is the FLIR software better?
If the software is worse I might be able to get them to sell us the loaner TI 480 Pro instead of us buying a FLIR camera.
I'm volunteering with a nonprofit that will be responsible for distributing 25 to 50 small grants each year - $500 to $2000 each. The nonprofit needs to keep track of applicants every year for these grants - how much they are asking for, grading by members of the board regarding their application, if grantees fulfilled the grant terms, etc.We would like grants management software, to manage all of the applications as well as the performance of the grantees.
I found this comparison of software, but I would really like to hear from actual users of such software. Groups that give grants to arts organizations would be great to hear from.https://www.softwareadvice.com/nonprofit/grant-management-comparison/
The software listed on the site:
Hi, for preface I would like to say i know literally nothing about these systems or PLC. However, I was just employed in the railway investment sector for my country, and they have asked me to do an overview berween different SCADA software that we would use for railway related infrastructure in the future (they are currently using iFix).
Now, I find it really hard to find actual data from these companies, what are pros and cons for each. Could you guys point me in the direction, where I could learn more about these? My sanity thanks you.
I've been considering NodeBB, but strange that it is absent from this list:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Internet_forum_software
The primary criteria is ease of integrating it with other software. I have a database of users already that would be automatically added to the forum (SSO). I also want to give users access to forums conditionally based on other attributes of our database. Furthermore, if we end up sharing our software, then this integration could go against some forum software licenses (not sure). Regardless, it needs to be FOSS.
Thanks!

tl;dr: They formed a collective externally, went into the page and deleted everything PC, and have now put up a hard deletion order to spite those who disagreed with the purge. If the page gets deleted, that's years of edits undone because they disagreed for one day.
All mentions of PC in the text have been removed:
"Removed references to PC, since it's not a gaming platform."
They are now attempting to quickly delete the page because people want the PC re-added:
"It is proposed that this article be deleted because of the following concern: Article was made via canvasing, serves no encyclopedic value."
To those outside the loop, "canvassing" is the act by which outsiders flood into an article and try to influence it (like what they're literally doing today). Except, they're trying to claim that /r/pcmasterrace made the entire page... despite the fact that many of the group's members have worked on the page before)
