Anyone who reads into the weapons used by Australian Outlaw Ned Kelly will notice his unusual fondness for percussion revolvers and even a colt revolving rifle. Was there a reason why his gang wasn’t able to obtain more cartridge firing guns? How common were modern arms in 1870s/80s Australia?

Colt made percussion revolvers vs. Uberti percussion revolvers.

Hey guys, I was wondering how Colt second and third generation percussion revolvers compare to Uberti guns, and if they are really worth the extra price. I know that Uberti guns can interchange parts with originals with some fitting, but are the Colts any better.

Colt pocket revolvers/remington pocket

Any of y’all own a colt pocket revolver? Be it the 1849, the snub nose 1860, or any colt guns with a very short barrel (not the police/sheriff models) or the Remington pocket revolver? How do they shoot? Not considered about loudness because I’ve already jacked my hearing up to all hell. I’m pretty sure with a barrel that short it’s going to be louder anyway. My main questions are accuracy and what is the best range y’all got with it? Also how much of a pain is it to clean it compared to a full sized?

Cap gun caps in a percussion revolver.

Ok, I have seen several posts on this subreddit that show people shooting their revolvers with cap gun caps. With caps becoming more and more rare, could I use these caps; or will it damage my gun in anyway? I only have 16 percussion caps left is why I ask, and I’m only 14 so I can’t drive t a hunting store near my town because I can’t drive yet, and we would only go if we had something else we had to do. Thanks!
