After finally finding a house and working on closing . From nowhere my agent comes and says don’t forget there is a 499$ coldwell bankers Realator admin fee.

What the hell! Where did this come from . I never signed any document that tells me I’m paying a 499$ extra now.

What can I do now? I have already signed the purchase agreement and my agent has also signed the document .

After paying so much everywhere . I cannot pay another 500$ now

Any suggestion guys ?

Edit - thank you guys for all your suggestions . So my agent says he’ll try to get it waived from his team lead if not he’ll pay it from the commission. And he apologizes for not telling me about it during the first meeting. And it’s his fault and he’ll correct it . Yipiieee

I just realized that Coldwell Banker is charging a $499 transaction fee for selling my current house and buying our new house. What exactly is this for and is it negotiable?

Do agents receive any part of this fee? My friends who are agents have said that it’s bogus. Can it be reduced? It just seems like a lot when we’re already paying thousands and thousands of dollars for commissions.

Coldwell Banker in NC Contracts Typically @ 3% not 6%

We all know the argument from realtors. β€œYou should always have a buyers agent, seller pays them. Even if you don’t have a buyers agent, the sellers agent just gets the commission and you don’t save any money.”

Well I confirmed with the selling agent on a house from Coldwell banker that their contract has 3% for selling agent, 3% for buyers agent. Come to them without a buyers agent and it saves the seller some money and can save you money based on how you negotiate!
