A list of puns related to "Cobalt poisoning"

The patient was a 41-year-old former medical doctor. He recently moved to Canada from the United States. He arrived at our hospital with a small-caliber gunshot wound to the abdomen. The circumstances of the shooting were unknown.
On admission, the patient was agitated, febrile (38.9 C), and tachycardic (110 BPM and regular). There was bleeding from the wound, but the patient remained hemodynamically stable on IV fluids with no additional support.
While being prepared for emergency surgery, the patient remained disoriented, agitated, and combative, and repeatedly warned the attending staff that they were likely to be poisoned.
The gunshot wound was consistent with a .22 caliber round. On X-ray, breakage and fragmentation of the 7th rib was evident. There were a few small bone fragments embedded in the anterior surface of the liver. There were radio-dense bullet fragments scattered throughout the upper right abdominal quadrant. Perforation of the transverse colon, hepatic vasculature, and gastric pylorus could not be ruled out. Because of the possibility of GI trauma, hepatic hemorrhage, and direct metal toxicity to the liver, the patient was prepared for open abdominal exploratory surgery and peritoneal lavage.
During the induction of anesthesia, the patientβs blood pressure fell from 100/80 mmHg to 50/30 mmHg with a very weak pulse. Paradoxically, his skin initially remained flushed and pink, though it blanched easily under pressure. Attempts were made to restore blood pressure with IV fluids.
As the abdomen was being opened, several of the attending staff began to complain of itching and burning in their hands. Approximately fifteen minutes after the start of surgery, the attending surgeon complained of worsening itching and burning pain in both hands, as well as nausea, fatigue, and malaise. She was relieved by another surgeon. Approximately 20 minutes after the start of surgery, two of the attending nurses and the nurse-anesthetist were also complaining of nausea and malaise. The hospital had also been notified that the attending paramedic who performed triage on the patient appeared to be ill. The relief surgeon ex

I totally thought they were going to take the Alzheimers route with it and i was literally screaming. Had they continued to run with Alzheimers and richard did in fact have it, i would have been pissed. Richard deserves soo much better of an ending. Before i found out it was cobalt poisoning, i was ready to throw my computer.

You trust my medical judgment, so here it is: if you transfer to Princeton General, you'll be treated well and you'll die. If you stay here with House, you'll be treated badly, but you'll live. I don't care if I have to slash the tires of every ambulance in this bay, mom, I am not letting you leave my hospital." βFamily Practice.
> When Mother Cuddy throws House off of her case, House must play on the fears of his entire team in order to make one desperate stab at treating her.
> House goes to Kaufman, but Kaufman tells him that Arlene doesn't want House involved.
> House seems to come up with the right diagnosis and implies Cuddy's mother is a hypochondriac, so the mother fires House.
> House is right that medical ethics codes generally prohibit a physician from treating a family member, except for routine care.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Sunlight.
It was an alien feeling to Borno, whoβd spent so much of his time outside the Orieli crater complex under the dark amalgamations of radioactive debris and viral spores that had enveloped Typhonβs skies for the past century.
He felt his environmental frame spin up its temperature control systems, feeling the freezing coolant pass through his undersuit as the raw sunlight, unfiltered by an ozone layer long since dissipated to nuclear fire, began to sear his frame. Yet the temperature to him felt almost like bliss. It must have only been 70 degrees celsius outside his frame, a refreshing temperature in comparison to the boiling and freezing extremes that regularly subsumed the crater.
Yet he couldnβt waste time bathing in the sun, he still had so much to do before he was meant to leave.
As he hurried down the path as best he could in his clucky frame he noticed a group of humans around the hillside drone port, preparing to unload one of the larger armoured cargo drones that had just arrived from orbit. He saw one of the humans, rigged in a larger frame, more akin to an exoskeleton, grab a power washer. They then proceeded to wipe down the drone, ridding it of any residual radioactive fallout the drone may have caught during its reentry.
They were equipped in similar environmental gear that Borno wore, yet adorned with the recognizable symbol of their organization, a dark green circle with a tree emanating in the centre. Gaiaβs Directive, that was the name heβd seen plastered around their facilities and gear. He had no clue what it actually meant, yet they never seemed to acknowledge the name, using it only on official documents and reports. Instead, they referred to themselves by another name;
Cleaners.
βExcuse me, Iβm looking for a Rosa Forneta, any of you guys seen her?β he called out to the band of humans on his frameβs speaker.
βOh, sheβs just a bit down from the hillside.β one of the humans called out, equipped in a bulky matte white environmental frame.
It pointed at a recently installed drone hangar further down the hill, where a group of humans seemed to be in the middle of a discussion near several large hexapedal automatons. βShe was just talking to the techs about getting the eco bots to scrounge up the fallout around here, they should be finishing up now.β
βThank youβ Borno called out to the human, waving it goodbye as he started to walk down the metal stairs that had only recently been installed against the hard basalt stone

They were cooked in Greece.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!
In my first days of med school during a case review, someone guessed the right diagnosis based solely on what she saw on House. (Weβre first years, we donβt know a lot yet). I used to watch when I was younger on cable but didnβt know it was available on Amazon prime. So I started from season 1 that night.
Iβm so glad I found this sub. I recently googled why the hell there was such a plot gap between ep 21 and 22 with foremanβs recovery and found you guys! Wanted to share that this show (and a couple glasses of whiskey) have been my safe haven in these unprecedented stressful times of being in my first year of medical school.
It actually (sometimes) helps tie some things in that I will be studying during the day and then when I settle down for the night, start watching house, there will be a reference to some disease, bug, or random enzyme deficiency that I learned about that day. I will pause the show, scream and point. My cat prob hates me. Lol anyway hi House MD peepsππΌ
Because she wanted to see the task manager.
Heard they've been doing some shady business.
but then I remembered it was ground this morning.
Edit: Thank you guys for the awards, they're much nicer than the cardboard sleeve I've been using and reassures me that my jokes aren't stale
Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments

Kaladin Shadowheartβs POV
Well, I think I did it. I believe Iβve done all that I could to hide my tracks. Even the light rain last night is going to help hide my escape. I used what little of the drugs I could handle to put as much distance as possible while heading south, then I went deeper into the forest and backtracked. My original goal was to head towards The Barrens but Iβve decided that itβs futile to attempt. There is no way I can get to the border in time to escape and Iβd be escaping to a place I canβt be sure is safe. And it would be impossible for me to go through the mountains. Monsters of immense strength live up in those mountains and Iβm in no shape to deal with such strong opponents alone.
Then again since Iβm heading to the Kingdom of Luminar and I canβt be sure Iβll be safe there either. But at least I know I have someone who might be able to help me. The kingdom itself is also friendly to escaped slaves. But I doubt that extends to slaves that brutally escaped from the mayor of a city-state while killing four people and maiming a noble child. Either way, there are no guarantees.
Iβve been planting the seeds of my escape for years now. I subtly lied about my origins being from The Barrens and Ester was kind of enough to shout that I was a Dark Elf assassin out to everyone before I killed her. Hopefully, people will connect the dots and focus on the area surrounding The Barrens. After all, it makes sense, the Dark Elf child would of course want to escape b
