I’m not suicidal, I just really don’t understand what’s the point in living.

From the second we are born, there is always someone telling us what we should do. First it’s our parents, then our teachers, then our bosses and at last our relationships with our husbands or wives or whatever. What the fuck happened to having a free will? I can’t do anything I want without it having a consequence.

• if you are lazy, you won’t come very far in life.

• if you work hard, that’s all you’ll ever fucking do. The better you are at your job, the more promotions you will get, the more promotions you get, the more you have to work.

When does it end? When can I take a deep breathe and just not have to worry about a single thing?

• when you’re on vacation you have to worry about keeping track of time, hotel keys, thieves, the language the said country speaks. Etc.

• when you’re in your house there is ALWAYS gonna be that one chore you have to do. And when it’s done, something else will pop up.

Why have we made things so complicated for ourselves? I know we can’t do anything we want because then the land will turn into chaos and anarchy but still, am I the only one thinking about this?

Why did we invent manners? Why do I need to hold the fork in my left hand and my knife in the right? Why not the other way around? Why can’t I rest my elbows on the table when it clearly doesn’t harm or does any physical damage to anyone around me? Why the fuck did we come up with these useless norms that everyone is so blatantly following for no reason at all?

I get it, chewing loud is annoying, but why can’t we chug a glass of water without it being seen as “rude?”. Isn’t the point of eating just... eating? Why have we turned something so basic into something so dramatic?

Just watched the 48 hrs update - For anyone with Prime, the episode is up as of this morning. This episode is an update on the 2020 episode, and I personally noticed/learned a few things so I thought I'd start a discussion.

Things I noticed:

• They don't even mention Tim Davis. Very interesting. Wonder what that's about. It's not because they have no new info, because they mention Cheryl Anderson (and show her picture).

• After seeing the night shots of the dorms, I kinda wonder if the room Neil VanEst saw lit up with the two people struggling wasn't the entryway to one of the dorms. I think another user brought this up in another thread (sorry I can't find it right now), but the entryway for Santa Lucia and Muir Hall both have floor to ceiling windows with bright fluorescent lights. I'm curious about this. I could see, potentially, someone biking past and in that couple of seconds thinking the entryway is a room. Especially if you were focused on the people inside, rather than the room itself. We've talked about how it's strange that these figures matching Paul and Kristin's description would be in Sierra Madre - a half mile from both P and Kristin's dorms. What are you guys' thoughts?

• Susan's body language during her videotaped deposition is so beyond shady. She can't make eye contact when she answers questions about Kristin, and chugs water like she really needs to do something with her hands/hide nervousness. I'd love to see a body language analyst go over these videos the way we've seen in some other cases. Not that I think there's any doubt of the Flores' guilt - I'm just interested.

• Jim Murphy states he believes Kristin's body was under Ruben's deck for 24 years prior to moving her remains in February 2020. Noting this because a lot of us (absolutely including me) have been speculating where else she has been. I think if Jim Murphy says it, it's probably the case. Also, Jim, what an awesome human being.

• Investigators found photos and videos on Paul's electronic devices of him raping at least 10 women. This is brand new info - a confirmation of what many suspected.

Luckily my drinking is mild now. I'm 31(M), have a house, a wonderful gf, and life is good. However, at uni/ college I was a fucking liability. Hence my moderation.

I always avoid sharing my uni drinking stories. You know - when people say "Oh, it was so crazy. This one time I got up and danced on the table and was kicked out. So crazy."

Yes, so crazy. I'm jealous, actually. Because to me that seems idyllic. Like sipping a crisp craft beer by the ocean, and watching a molten sun bleed into the horizon, surrounded by admirers you've never alienated. Lush, like new grass.

It's so common too. I'd love to have only committed conventional sins whilst drunk. "Oh no I lost my keys!" "I said a mean thing!". My issue, is I'm a fucking weirdo when I'm in the void, and will seek social validation in any repugnant hole I happen across.

I'll share one example.

Standard night out with uni friends. We're all pot noodle broke, obviously. So before heading out to the bars, we decide to whack on some house music and neck pre-drinks. I bypass the cans of lager and go straight for the fml nectar and chug a small bottle of vodka, bringing my blood alcohol level up to a nice sweaty level. Bass is pounding, mood is high. My fuck it head is on, big time.

I've put on new jeans, which I found in the alley by our house and washed, thrift yeah, and have made my hair alluring to the opposite sex. Look out.

We go to the first bar. Friends are swigging more piss lager. I think that's boring. So I go for the local, urban legend fuelling "cocktail" - the Terminator. It's strong, comes in pints, and you can see it in luminous pink puddles in gutters around campus.

One of my friends, wearing an Obey t-shirt, bellows "crumblecrow is a legend M8!" as I finish a second Terminator. This time, I go to burp, and instead bring a mouthful of it back up, mixed with stomach acid. I spit this onto the floor, to chimp heckling from my squad.

Not long after this I saunter into the evening's blackout. I lose my group and only have snap shots of my activity.

I'm in a nameless, location-less bar, chatting to someone passionately. He wears a black fedora, but his features elude.

RPI sucks. I was choosing between Umass and RPI when graduating, and was encouraged by everyone to go to RPI because Massachusetts hated its state university back in 2010. I just reread chat logs with my friends from 2010 - even before enrolling, I knew RPI would provide me with a lower quality CS education for a higher cost, but I justified it because I thought I'd get more chances to check out other fields, due to RPI's strengths in engineering, and also because I wanted to go somewhere with a nerd friendly culture.

The nerd friendly culture was honestly kind of a lie - a lot of students I felt wanted to differentiate themselves from "typical nerds" and felt were less accomidating to my quirky self than people have been since I graduated. I felt a lot of pressure to be normal, and ended up joining a fraternity that I didn't like and barley participated in.

The academics were honestly kind of mediocre, especially in computer science. I have had a succesful career in FAANG companies since graduating - but no thanks to RPI. RPI had decent courses on algorithms that you could find at most any college in the US, and *extremily* mediocre course offerings in most other things. Programming languages was a joke - we didn't learn how to make compilers. Operating Systems was a joke - it was a class in very basic linux systems programming, you can take a class like that in a community college. Good CS schools offer operating systems classes where...you actually write an operating system. Software design and documentation taught us about...uml diagrams....none of the fancy software companies on the west coast use those, trust me. I had to supplement this education with a lot of self studying and mentorship post graduation to learn things that graduates I've met from better learned in school.

I took a lot of physics classes, this was probably the lowest point of academics for me at RPI. Some of the classes were ok, but some were just *terrible* (modern physics, experimental physics, bluh). E&M theory was ok, but most college split the content of the course over two semesters - one for statics, one for waves and whatnot, and that is absolutley the correct approach for that material. I got an A in the class but the pace definitley got in the way of learning. I also had not a great time in some of my other courses, although to be fair a lot of that is on me, I was depressed (due to social life sucking) during the years I was a

Medical, or a makeshift form of it as far as he could tell. Hi everyone! I'm a little late for the results because this was my very first survey and I got a little of trouble (and a lot of fun) finding out how to analyse the answers. (On top of it, my computer crashed when I was halfway through this post and I had to start again 🙃)

But here it is!

So, I got 1697 responders. Of those, 55.9% have a vulva, 43.8% have a penis, and .3% (meaning 5 people) are intersex.

To the main question "Are you able to defecate (poop) without urinating (peeing) at the same time or right before?", overall, 44.2% of people answered "no", 29.4% answered "yes, with no effort" and 26.5% answered "yes, but it takes some effort. "For people with penises, the "no" is a bit higher (50.6%) ; "yes with some effort" is 22.6% and "yes without effort" 26.8%. For people with vaginas, the "no" is lower than in the general population (39.2%) ; "yes with no effort" is 34.7% and "yes with some effort" is 26.1%. In intersex people, one person (20%) answered no, one (20%) answered yes with no effort, and the 3 other (60%) answered yes with some effort.

58 respondents have given birth vaginally. Of those, 77.6% said it hasn't impacted their answer, 12 people (20.7%) said it made it harder or impossible and one person (1.7%) said it made it easier or possible.

6 respondents have been through SRS (sex reassignment surgery.) 5 of them said it hasn't impacted their answer, one of them (who now has a vulva) said it made it harder or impossible.

518 respondents have done Kegel exercises. Of those, 7.9% said it made it possible or easier and the rest said it hasn't impacted their answer.

About end of poll comments:

A couple of people thought it was transphobic of me to specify which genitals were biologically male or biologically female. I did so because I know some people aren't necessarily familiar with the term "vulva." I still avoided to use words like "man" and "woman", which are, in my experience, more linked to gender identity and less to biology. I'm still sorry if I hurt some people's feelings. (On the opposite end, several people also thanked me for using inclusive language, so I guess I didn't do too bad!)

My wife and I talked of kids for years before finally reaching financial stability. At that point, Daphne and I made the leap, and we began enjoying a week of intimacy each month until it happened. Daphne was jumping up and down on the bed with excitement when she finally got a positive test result, and we celebrated with a final bottle of champagne before committing to abstinence.

Her stomach grew, and every sonogram confirmed our child was a perfectly healthy baby boy. We decided on the name Zachary, after her grandfather, and began the process of purchasing a seemingly endless amount of supplies to prepare; breast pumps, swaddling cloths, changing tables and all the stuffies a baby could need. Eventually, Zachary was born; a normal baby boy with curious eyes and a tuft of blond hair.

Zachary was quiet for an infant, which was a blessing to us. We’d expected to lose endless nights of sleep, but our tiny new son would simply gaze at the wallpaper or out the windows when he was awake. It was a gift, as was our tear-filled joy that accompanied his first word, “ball”, at only two months. He was stringing together basic sentences by the time he reached eight months old.

We were ecstatic to discover Zachary’s learning comprehension was off the charts, and we catered to his gift. We read to Zachary, and soon he began reading along, sailing through five-syllable words and complex sentences by the time he was a year old. We were thrilled, but as time passed and he soaked up knowledge, his head appeared to grow larger. We brought him to the pediatrician as our concern grew as well.

After a scheduled MRI, a doctor went over his findings with us. He seated us in his office and brought up an image of Zachary's skull on his screen before clasping his hands and speaking.

“Zachary’s brain appears to be enlarged, and to the extent that his skull has separated into sections. The seams that eventually fuse to become bone have only separated more as he’s grown.”

Daphne’s eyes widened in fear and her lower lip trembled. I placed my hand over hers to comfort her.

“Is it serious?” I asked, dreading the answer.

“While this is normally very serious and indicative of tumors or trauma, Zachary’s brain appears to be perfectly healthy. Macrocephaly occurs most typically from excess fluids, yet Zachary’s actual gray matter appears to be the reason for his condition. Due to the large number of folds and creases, it appears his accelerated intellect seems directly linked.”

UPDATE: Had the conversation. Stuck to my guns and laid it all on the table. I finally got up the courage to say in 10 minutes what has been fucking me up for 5 years. It was all very calm, I got a little choked up, but powered through. I left no stone unturned. By all accounts I'm a god damn catch and I've been on the back burner for too long. No blame, we both have things to work on for one another. If intimacy is a problem then it won't be my problem.

I laid out 3 options. 1) fix it for real 2)open relationship 3) divorce.
she opted for option 1. However I decided to up the stakes. 4 months to fix it, set a day with a notification in the calendar. If we hit that day and just one person isn't convinced in the future we're calling it. Tomorrow we discuss the fine print and details of what each person needs. I feel so relieved, like a weight is off my shoulders. We'll see how it goes, but she was VERY receptive once the timer was put in place. Its time to put up or shut up for both of us.

Too lazy to make a burner.

Me (33HLM) and wife (33LLF) dated for 6 years and have been married for 3 top of that. The first couple years of dating were amazing. We clicked and checked a lot of boxes, we were attracted to one another, easy going, healthy sex life...then she was diagnosed with cancer. I was offered the opportunity to leave, I stuck around.

I'm not going to diminish the severity, we took it very seriously. We consider ourselves lucky in the scheme of things, no chemo, very quick recovery, very good doctors and a 93%+ chance of success. Things were looking good. We kept tabs on it, had another surgery and lots of visits over the years, but we've always kept it in check and have always been positive.

This is where things changed, we were young, mid 20's trying to navigate this event and our relationship. I made mistakes, wasn't as empathetic as I could have been and could have planned more special moments. Our sex life disappeared over night. I had no idea how important that was to me. Resentment built up on both sides. What was a couple times a week, turned into maybe once every couple months. Either way we kept chugging along and got married 3 years ago. When we skipped out on sex on our marriage night I knew we had a serious fuckin problem.

We identified the problems and read the love language book. Made a list of things we needed to do for one another to fix the issue. It didn't work. At the house I've taken on all responsibilities as well as all

Today we’re building Edelgard von Hresvelgr, leader of the Black Eagles and quite possibly the most controversial character in the entire Fire Emblem franchise. Depending on your personal values, beliefs, and level of reading comprehension, she is either the true hero of the game or the love child of Hitler, Stalin, and the literal Devil, all at the same time. Or, you know, you might think that she’s a very complex character with a nuanced motivation who commits genuinely morally grey acts, some of which you agree with and some of which you don’t, but who cares! You’re too busy being shouted over by the first two kinds of people. No matter what camp you’re in, you gotta admit, this girl is an expert at starting conflicts.

Hi! You might know me for summoning the abomination that we know as Honkmoon. Thanks for all the love on that post by the way, I’m glad y’all had fun! But today I’m bothering you with less creative matters as I take you through my favorite activity: the Prophecy Dungeon.

I’m probably the millionth person to make a post like this but I just wanted to share my experience 😊. It’s a pretty long post and English is not my native language so I hope y’all enjoy it.

Solo flawless Prophecy was on my to-do list for a very long time. I managed to solo it a few times but never flawless. A few days ago I finally did it!

I did it on Hunter with the Omnioculus chest piece and bottom tree Nightstalker. Haven’t been able to use anything else since it dropped basically :D. I prefer Omnioculus over Sixth Coyote because of the damage resistance while invisible.

For Warlocks I would probably recommend using Devour but I haven’t played enough Warlock to be sure. For Titans I honestly have no idea because I barely play Titan.

In this post I’d like to share my loadout, experience and advice for every encounter.
Note: my advice is mostly based on the assumption that you already know how the dungeon works. If you’re looking for a complete guide of the mechanics I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

Encounter 1 – The entrance a.k.a. “The tutorial”

Weapons:

• Witherhoard
• Seventh Seraph VY-7 – Ambitious Assassin, Feeding Frenzy
• Falling Guillotine – Relentless Strikes, Whirlwind Blade (but I don’t think I even used it here)

Armor mods:
I used the same mods that I used for the Phalanx Echo since this encounter is so easy I didn’t bother to switch my mods around.

Experience:
My thought has always been: if you can’t do this encounter, you probably shouldn’t even attempt the rest of the dungeon. I like using Witherhoard on the knights so you can easily step into the dark or light to get the correct motes. Just clear the adds, kill the knights, dunk the motes and this should be an EZ win.

Encounter 2 – Phalanx Echo a.k.a. “Boopy boi”

Weapons:

• Heritage – Slideshot, Recombination – Major spec (but any special weapon that can kill Knights will work here)
• Trinity Ghoul (thank the gods for this magnificent piece of weaponry)
• Falling Guillotine – Relentless Strikes, Whirlwind Blade – Boss spec

I hate small talk so I’m getting right to it

Some fortunate fucks here still have an SO who sticks by them. Dang I do not know why but I’m one of those fucks. So I am writing a shitty guide that worked for me.

I am a fortunate person to still have my SO in my life. Yes I’m aware that this will not always be the case at the rate I’m at. I know that this CA lifestyle will eventually destroy us. So no need to comment how this will not work. I’m aware.

What I’m here to offer is some solid stuff that has worked for me so far...again for me...

I know I’m a CA..

I know that I do not have a lot to offer. So I do what I can. Whenever I can. My lovely poor wife (no kids) is sad and I clean my heart out at night to make sure she does not stress anymore than she has to. I clean the apartment and deep clean other areas. I meal prep for her work meals and make sure dinner is on the table when she gets home. I take our dog out in the morning when she wants to sleep in.

I give her deep body massages (I recommend this to any persons wanting to make their wife happy, deep naked body massages help!!) Shower more than any normal person, apply cologne or perfume and brush your teeth! Our CA lifestyle makes us SMELL combat that shit we have someone that loves us.

I work on my tone, my body language, my body smell, my breath. I still chug my booze at night like a Fucktard but I do my absolute best to make sure that the woman I love is catered to with what her love language is. Yes I will lose her some day. I’m shitty. I suck. CA lifestyle is not right.

But for now.. I’m in her good graces and that’s awesome for now..

Chairs fuckers

The funeral director was asking us what we think Mum should wear in her casket.

Mum always loved to wear sarongs (fabric wraps that go around the torso and drape downward a bit like a long skirt would), so my uncle suggested that she wear a sarong in there.

The funeral director looked a bit confused, as did some of our family members, to which my uncle added:

"What's sarong with that?"

I started laughing like an idiot. He was proud of it too. The funeral director was rather shocked. We assured her, and our more proper relatives, that Mum would've absolutely loved the joke (which is very true).

His delivery was perfect. I'll never forget the risk he took. We sometimes recall the moment as a way help cushion the blows of the grieving process.

This is going to be an overly detailed/long post about getting surgery in Turkey. I hope this is helpful to someone and not boring. I spent a lot of time trying to find information like this when I was planning my surgery and after getting there I realized how unprepared I was. None of this is sponsored - this is all just what I did/wish I did differently.

Quick info: I’m 24, Female, this was my primary rhinoplasty, I went alone.

My surgery was at Memorial Bahçelievler Hospital in Istanbul.

First, here are all of the surgeons I talked to:

Why I chose Bozkurt:

• He is an ENT that only does rhinoplasty.
  • All of the other surgeons performed multiple types of surgery like breast augmentation
• His aesthetics
  • He does a more straight, natural nose than most of the IG Turkish doctors.

  • He mainly does closed technique but also does open if that is your preference and his recommendation.
  • He uses different tools to look inside your nose.
  • They talked a lot to me about my breathing. This was really important for them to fix.
  • He doesn’t break the nasal bones so he doesn’t always use a cast or silicon tampons. The cast is only to help with swelling and not for structural support.
  • He talks a lot about a fast recovery and minimizing tissue damage to the face.
• At the consultation he gave me his personal cell phone number for any questions. I never used it but I appreciated the gesture.

Bozkurt has 3 assistants but because I speak English I mostly communicated with Selim. Out of all the surgeons/assistants I talked to, Bozkurt and Selim’s English was the worst but still understandable. This is the only surgeon that does not offer any sort of package so I had to find my own hotel/AirBnb and transport. The mighty High Tea Music label, based in the Netherlands and one of my favourite labels for the lesser-known sides of everything from uplifting dancefloor to beautiful liquid, is celebrating 5 years of existe(a)nce this year with this awesome 11-track compilation. Let me tell you, label founders T & Sugah have once again done a perfect job of blending together High Tea regulars like Phonetic or Rex Hooligan with label debuts (tea-buts) by high profile producers like Protostar and completely new faces. These completely new faces are the reason this is one of the many Hidden Gems Of The Week™ this week!

We've got a lot to talk about today, so I'll just focus on my favourites for now.

While I enjoy a lot of different kinds of dnb, well-made emotional liquid will always have a very special place in my heart, even more so if it has a piano in it. Why Winnipeg, and Not Halifax.

If you have a huge amount of equity in your house or lots of savings, and are looking to slow down then Halifax might be the choice for you, but if you are looking to grow your career, get in on the property ladder, and be in a place with opportunities and a lower cost of living then choose Winnipeg.

Winnipeg is a city that keeps chugging along. Unlike the cities in oil rich provinces to the west, Winnipeg has a diversified economy fueled by the private sector combined with a strong public sector. Major national and global agribusiness, finance and insurance, and manufacturing call Winnipeg home. There is opportunity to work for large companies and smaller companies. Most of the provincial government and crown corporations call Winnipeg home.

My partner and I both work in the insurance industry, and we know if we are laid off or ready for career growth we can go looking at one of the many other insurance companies in the city, or if needed can change industries and pursue new opportunities. Opportunities and affordability are everything.

Housing

Housing is still affordable. For under $400,000 you can easily get a 3 bedroom, 3 bath, plus detached house in a great neighbourhood with easy accessible bus service to downtown, and both French and English language schools within 2km. For us, we have several big name grocery stores and other amenities within walking distance. The commute downtown takes 20 minutes by vehicle and 30 minutes by bus. Costco, malls, and big box retailers are only a 5 minute drive away. It’s a typical suburban life that you can find in any corner of Winnipeg. There are parks and greenspace everywhere.

Childcare

Daycare costs are unbelievably cheap. For a licensed facility, that the government subsidizes ,full-time daycare costs $500 a month. And lunch and 2 snacks cost only an extra $50 a month - this is a no brainer. Do you want kids and to know they are well looked after, without breaking the bank while you earn money? Winnipeg let’s you do that. Lawyers, directors, doctors managers, office workers, laborer's are all able to take advantage of this.

We never once stressed about daycare costs.

Insurance

Insurance is cheap. For liability, third-party, bodily injury, etc we pay $1500 a year on a newer model vehicle. That price is available to us even though we have recently been in some at-fault accidents.

Family Activities

For a family there is lots to do in Winni
