A list of puns related to "Chris Petersen"

I work at a Dickβs sporting goods, and saw Chris Petersen in our store today. I helped him in one of our fitting rooms and he seemed like a nice guy. I noticed his face and voice right away and I didnβt want to be a fanboy and bother him too much, so I didnβt try to spark a conversation with him. Although looking back maybe I shouldβve tried to convince him to come back and coach our team again so we can go back to our glory days.

I was just watching a Scott Petersen documentary today and made the connection that Scott and Chris have the same middle name, kinda weird considering the crime is very similar. Just was wondering if anyone has ever noticed that before.

I think he's easily top 5, and likely top 3 behind only Nick Saban and Dabo Swinney. Career .807 winning percentage between Boise State and Washington. And some really iconic wins with Boise State. He's won the PAC-12 twice now and made the CFP after only his 3rd year at Washington. I think he's the easily the 3rd best coach in all of college football.
Obviously guys like Saban and Dabo are in tiers of their own but I'm trying to figure out where Petersen stands. His track record at Boise State stands on it's own but he also had an All-Time CFB quarterback in Kellen Moore for most of those years. But he also beat UO in the Fiesta Bowl with Jared Zabransky.
When he went to Washington Jake Browning was never really anything that special but still they managed to win the PAC-12 Championship multiple times and get to the Playoff once he took over and got all his own recruits in place.
So I'm trying to figure out roughly where he stands tier-wise in the whole landscape of college football coaches right now. Any thoughts?

Meyer: 2004 Utah, 2009 Florida, 2012 Ohio State, 2013 Ohio State

Petersen: 2006 Boise State, 2008 Boise State, 2009 Boise State
Chris Petersen has had a phenomenal career so far as a head coach. Over the course of his 13 seasons as head coach, he has amassed a record of 129-33, the highest win percentage among active coaches, 6 conference titles, 10 10 win seasons, 9 AP top 25 finishes, including 5 top 10 finishes and 3 top 5 finishes, 5 BCS/NY6 bowl appearances with 2 wins as well as a playoff appearance. Despite his success, his career has not been without its lowlights. Here is a definitive list of his top 10 most heartbreaking losses as a head coach, brought to you by a Boise native and UW alumnus.
##10. 2007 East Carolina 41-38 2007 was an up and down season for the Broncos. Following the Fiesta Bowl win, Boise State lost 14 starters, including the entire receiving corps, linebacker corps, special teams, and QB Jared Zebransky. Notably, running back Ian Johnson and Fiesta Bowl MVP safety Marty Tadman were returning. There were a lot of eyes on Boise and second year head Coach Chris Petersen to see if Boise could maintain their success from the previous season, or if they were just a flash in the pan. The season got off to a rough start with a close loss to Washington in Seattle but seemed to get on track as Boise rattled off 9 consecutive wins in which they held 6 opponents to fewer than 20 points. That streak included a thrilling 4 OT 69-67 victory over Nevada in which Colin Kaepernick made his first collegiate start. To end the regular season, Boise State lost to undefeated Hawaii on the road, who would go on to play Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. Following that loss, Boise State was slotted to play in the Hawaii bowl against 7-5 East Carolina. While the loss to Hawaii was upsetting, it wouldnβt compare to what followed.
Boise State entered the Hawaii Bowl ranked #24 in the country and were picked to win in 98% of ESPN bowl Pickβems. On paper, the game appeared to be a mismatch, Boise State ranked 4th in the country in scoring offense to ECUβs 44th. Boise State was also the top defense in the WAC and ranked 26th in the nation in scoring defense whereas the Pirates ranked 84th. East Carolina proved to be more than a match for the 10.5 point favorites, however, as they jumped out to a 24-7 lead with the Broncos only points coming off of a kick off return. Heading into halftime, Boise State was down 31-14. ECU struck first blood in the second half, extending their lead to 38-14, but Boise State rattled off 24 consecutive points to tie the game at 38 apie

Great article that goes into what made Pete so loved here. I've said it before, I'll say it again, without Pete, the City of Boise would not be what it is today. Win, lose, or tie, Pete is one hell of a coach and I hope he finds joy in whatever he does next.

#TLDR: Petersenβs big game with prep time record at Washington is a complete 180 from his time at Boise
When Petersen was at Boise State, he had a (rightful) reputation of being an elite coach, especially in big games where he had time to prepare. In order to collect data on this, Iβm going to define a big game with time to prepare as either a season starting game vs a ranked opponent or a bowl game vs a ranked opponent.
So in 8 years at Boise State, he had an average of one such game per season and compiled a 6-2 record. His record ATS
As with his time at Boise, in his five years at Washington he has averaged one such game per season. The big difference is his current record is 0-4. Some of these loses are forgivable; one was before he had fully built up Washington and he was playing at the Blue Turf, which is notoriously damn near impossible to win on and another was against The Death Machine in the playoffs. However, the Fiesta Bowl vs Penn State and the opening game vs Auburn were the type of games that he won at Boise State that he hasnβt been able to replicate at Washington.
I was wondering how your opinion of Petersen in these situations has changed from his time in Boise due to his time in Seattle? Also, how much can the Rose Bowl vs Ohio State in Urban Meyerβs final game
