Why are people so eager to boycott anti-LGBT companies like Chick-fil-A but still buy iPhones made in horrible conditions by low-wage workers.

Some Apple factories in China have "suicide nets" to stop workers from killing themselves. Reports have uncovered that many of their products have been made with child labor as well. If people actually cared about ethical consumption, surely they would boycott Apple as well, right?

So I went to r/lgbt and read the faq. They don’t like Chick-fil-A because it opposes LGBT rights or something. Is that true? I also remember that there was some controversy when someone ate a Chick-fil-A during Pride month. So what does Chick-fil-A do?

Edit: so the CEO is anti-LGBT and makes donations to anti-LGBT groups, as I’ve been told. So, is he donating as an individual, or is he donating in Chick-fil-A’s name?
