A list of puns related to "Catie Munnings"
Hi everyone!
I am Catie Munnings and Iβm driving in the all-new Extreme E series with Andretti United Extreme E.
Ever since I was young Iβve loved cars. My dad was a rally driver and I used to work with him at a rally school and when I was around 10, he started a motorsport entertainment company and I would thrash around the woods on quad bikes in my school uniform as soon as I got home! It all started as a hobby, which is the nice part for me β it never felt like I was in training for anything.
Since then, Iβve competed in ERC, and made my debut in WRC in 2020. Now Iβm competing in Extreme E alongside Timmy Hansen with Andretti United in Extreme E where we finished second on the first race in Saudi earlier this month.
I will be doing my first AMA on Saturday (24 April) at 10am BST and Iβm going to be online to answer your questions about the epic world of motorsport! So, if thereβs anything you want to know β about Extreme E, my rallying days or anything else then just submit the question and I look forward to answering as many as I can on Saturday.

Thanks Reddit, letβs do this!
Update: Catie's AMA has ended. Thanks so much to everyone for your awesome questions. Catch Andretti United in action for the next Extreme E race in Senegal at the end of May and remember to vote for Catie and Timmy on GridPlay!
#'Exceptional' RXR claim inaugural Extreme E title, despite X44 weekend supremacy
Tensions ran high in todayβs Jurassic X Prix, with Sir Lewis Hamiltonβs X44 team needing nothing shy of a perfect result and a bit of luck to thwart Rosberg X Racingβs dominance all season.
Cancelled races in Brazil and Argentina meant the finale of the 2021 Extreme E season took place at Dorsetβs Armour Centre, a British Army close quarter tank training garrison β a fitting send-off for the series finale.
RXRβs three wins means that X44 would need a race win, the fastest speed on the traction challenge, and for RXR to finish last in the final. A rule change also meant that this would be a three-lap event, with the switchover taking place after lap 2.
#One last tango
With seasonal weather bogging down most of the track, X44βs success in Grid-Play β the fan selection service allowing teams to choose their starting position β allowed X44βs Cristina GutiΓ©rrez to start in the centre of the track going into turn 1. Using his experience, Loeb deduced that the track had developed over the course of the weekendβs preliminary races, and the centre of the track appeared the most compacted, while the outer parts still were the most slippery and muddiest.
After a longer wait than usual for the green light, GutiΓ©rrezβs immediate use of the hyperdrive function secured the P1 position going into turn 1, with both the Sainz XE Team and Andretti United getting bogged down in the deep, spongy fringes of the racetrack.
X44 lead the pack into the back straight segment of the track, with RXR, JBXE and Andretti quick to follow. A bad turn into the back straightβs kinked corner almost proved disastrous for JBXEβs Mikaela Γ hlin-Kottulinsky, who after a huge veer across the track at top speed still managed to claw the Odyssey back into P3 despite Andrettiβs Catie Munnings efforts.
#The bare maximum
Pressure on Mollie Taylor coming from Γ hlin-Kottulinsky did not let up despite the detour, as clever use of hyperdrive over the Knife Edge jump allowed an airborne overtake of the RXR, giving viewers a brilliant display of electrics sparking on the underside of the cars.
An alternative route taken by Munnings ended up placing Taylor even further behind the racing order and put X44 and RXR on equal points in the overall season standings. GutiΓ©rrez significant lead did not let up going into lap 2, wit
... keep reading on reddit β‘I ranked the drivers according to their performance in the middle sector, now called the Continental traction challenge.
The driver who was consistently the fastest was Sebastian Loeb, so those 9 consecutive world championships were probably not a coincidence. The best of the rest were
Kyle Leduc
Johan Kristofferson
Timmy Hansen
Mattias Ekstrom
Carlos Sainz
Kevin Hansen
Stephane Sarrazin.
This brings us to the first woman on the list; the 9th best driver was Cristina Gutierrez. Her middle sector time was consistently 4 to 6 seconds slower than her teammate Loeb throughout the season.
It is interesting to note that some of the other women on the grid were not consistent; they made big improvements! I speculate that they have benefited from the opportunity to race equally in teams with top male drivers.
Sara Price started the season 7 seconds slower than teammate Kyle Leduc through the middle sector, but reduced the gap to 1 to 2 seconds at the end.
Motorcycle racer Laia Sanz started 9 seconds off the pace, but by the end of the season she was only 1-2 seconds behind Carlos Sainz
Catie Munnings was 9 seconds off the pace of her teammate Timmy Hansen at the beginning of the season, but by the last 2 races she had improved to within 3 seconds of his middle sector time.
Mikaela Ahlin Kottulinsky, ended the season 1-2 seconds off the pace of her teammate Kevin Hansen after beginning 6 seconds slower than him in the middle sector.
All of this improvement means that the racing is getting a lot closer and more exciting. In Dorset, Jutta Kleinschmidt was the 14th fastest driver through the middle sector, only 3.4 seconds behind 2nd place Johan Kristofferson, (massive respect to legend Sebastian Loeb for beating everyone else by 1.1 seconds.)
If the field continues to close up, then we should be in for a great season in 2022
#Andretti United on top of the world with maiden win in Greenland
Catie Munnings and Timmy Hansen have both made Greenlandic history as the first ever winners of a race hosted on the world's largest island.
Home to just 500, Kangerlussuaq proved to be one of the toughest settings yet in an already competitive calendar β truly providing one of the most remote regions ever to host a motorsport event.
Now with a five-car final, a minor scrum between Laia Sanz (Sainz XE) and Kevin Hansen (JBXE) allowed X44, Andretti United and RXR to lead by the first bend, each using hyperdrive intermittently to nominal effect.
#Enter the Rock Garden
By the time RXRβs Molly Taylor reached the Rock Garden β the rocky section of track responsible for knocking out both Veloceβs StΓ©phane Sarrazin and Hummerβs Kyle Leduc in the preliminary races β X44's SΓ©bastien Loeb already had a decent lead over the rest of the pack, with Sainz XE herding the back of the group.
Loeb's lead was short-lived, however, as a rear-right puncture soon became discernible as the driver switchover commenced, turning rallying legend SΓ©bastien Loeb into a temporary race mechanic for fellow teammate Cristina GutiΓ©rrez. Rules allow a spare tyre to be installed, but the process is rough-and-ready and lacks the same finesse as other motorsports.
At the end of the driver switchover and at the start of the second lap, the race order shifted with Andretti leading the pack, closely tailed by RXR and JBXE.
#Swedish Shootout
The story of the second lap was that of RXRβs Kristoffersson trying hard to get ahead of Andrettiβs Timmy Hansen, with JBXEβs Mikaela Γ hlin-Kottulinsky not too far in the distance.
Perhaps still reeling from his 10-second time penalty in their semi-final, RXRβs Kristoffersson saw an opportunity to overtake the Andretti on the Back Straight section of the bumpy circuit. The move saw the RXR Odyssey leap to the height of the opposing Andretti, and it initially proved to be successful.
The reality of the dramatic move finally caught up with Kristoffersson soon after, however, causing near-terminal drive damage and slowly allowing the remaining drivers to get past β including X44's Cristina GutiΓ©rrez with her new tyre.
The mistake allowed Andretti's Timmy Hansen to cruise to victory, claiming the 25 points and making Greenlandic history.
*Despite the damage, Taylor and Kristoffersson still lea

Qualifying and Race Format
Broadcast
Overall
In each qualifying session, the first sector and the last sector are different depending on whether you are entering or leaving the pits. However, all laps have the same middle sector, and so I used that to produce these driver rankings:-
https://preview.redd.it/fg89srqczu271.png?width=342&format=png&auto=webp&s=0db20a304acf65e97fec58265cff511c05533cd1
On average, Sebastian Loeb was 0.1 seconds faster than Johan Kristofferson , with Carlos Sainz and Timmy Hansen a further 1.7 and 1.9 seconds behind. These times are based on the average sector 2 time of each of the four qualifying runs done by the drivers. Kyle Leduc's top ranking is based on the single sector 2 he has so far completed when his car was working properly, time will tell if he is consistently this quick. Fastest woman is Sara Price. Kevin Hansen, Cristina Gutierrez and Molly Taylor are within 0.2 seconds of each other
It is interesting to consider team strategy for the semi final and final. If you have a rallycross legend like Johan Kristofferson or one of the Hansen brothers, then you have a very good chance of winning the battle past the first corner and into the lead. All but one of the teams have a male driver that is faster than their female teammate, and so it is unsurprising that many teams were putting the male driver in first. However, Chip Ganassi Racing have been going against the flow; they put Sara Price in against the men, and for them this makes a lot of sense: Neither of their drivers would be confident to beat the various multiple world champion drivers to the first corner, but Sara Price is talented enough to finish her lap close behind them. This would give Kyle Leduc a race against drivers like Molly Taylor, Cristina Gutierrez, Laia Sanz or Catie Munnings, and based on his performance at the Ocean X prix, he may have a big enough speed advantage to overtake them.....
All we need now is for the cars to be reliable, and we could have an exciting championship. :)
So I'm a guy and I am a huge fan of racing, motorsport is my thing. It's predominantly male dominated, infact in the top form of motorsport Formula One which has been going on since 1950, only two women have ever started a race out of only ever six to try to qualify for one, and out of those two only one has ever finished in a points paying position. Lella Lombardi, who is an absolute legend by the way.
Probably the most notable woman to have ever raced is Michele Mouton, who came within 13 points of winning the World Rally Championship in 1982. Then you have Leena Gade, who was the lead engineer of the overall winning entry in the 2011 24 hours of Le Mans.
There's plenty of success stories though unfortunately the attitudes towards women are absolutely terrible. Women are still the minority, and there are efforts being made to bridge the gap and hopefully trigger the means to allow that one bright spark to make her way into the limelight.
For example, we have the W Series which is a single seater series a few steps below Formula One that women can enter into and there's obviously these complaints that men can't compete so it isn't legitimate or some bullshit.
What prompted me to write this however was a new racing series that started up this year, Extreme E. It's an off-road racing series focusing on legacy programs and minimal environmental impact, but also very importantly it's a world-first in that every team must have one woman and one man racing for them.
Such examples of women who compete include W Series champion Jamie Chadwick (who is also a development driver for F1 team Williams) and rally driver Catie Munnings (who you British mums may recognise from a show on CBeebies called 'Catie's Amazing Machines').
The series has garnered such notoriety that F1 champions such as Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button and Nico Rosberg have all fielded teams with Button even driving.
Their first round took place recently in a desert in Saudi Arabia (yes that's a major issue which I'm not happy about) and there were a few crashes. One happened for a German driver called Claudia Hurtgen and thankfully she escaped unharmed. Then another one for a driver called StΓ©phane Sarrazin, and he was okay also.
Comments left on a video about Hurtgen's crash were along the lines of "typical woman can't drive", as you can expect.
What about for Sarrazin's? Anything about him crashing due to the fact he's a man? Nope. Crickets.
It wouldn't matter if all nine men who drive

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes

Ants donβt even have the concept fathers, let alone a good dad joke. Keep r/ants out of my r/dadjokes.
But no, seriously. I understand rule 7 is great to have intelligent discussion, but sometimes it feels like 1 in 10 posts here is someone getting upset about the jokes on this sub. Let the mods deal with it, they regulate the sub.
