An Unexpected Trademark

It was mid-2011. The final patch of Cataclysm was on its way, and Blizzcon was just around the corner. The subject of World of Warcraft’s next expansion had begun to gain traction once again, and as was tradition, the internet became awash with leaks. Some promised Old Gods, some foresaw Kul’Tiras or Zandalar or Nazjatar, Tel’Abim or Suramar or Sargeras – in short, players made every possible prediction in the vain hope that one of them might be proven right.

But none of them were.

No one could have predicted Pandaria.

It wasn’t until the user ‘Mynsc’ went wading through the US Patent and Trademark Office website in search of info about Titan – Blizzard’s ‘open-secret’ new game in development – that they stumbled upon a recently-filed trademark by the name of ‘Mists of Pandaria’. Among all the theory-crafting and scavenging for information, it had been there a week, out in the open where anyone could find it, and yet completely overlooked.

It was immediately dismissed by many users as a book, a figurine, an in-game microtransaction perhaps. They cast it aside and turned to the more realistic leaks. But upon further inspection, the trademark was for a game, distributed on CD-ROMs with instruction manuals and guides. It had to be WoW content.

Okay, the community said. Then it was a patch.

We thank you for this opportunity to offer comments and suggestions in regards to the proposed Regulation SHO. We are of the opinion that the rampant "naked short selling" of stocks and the associated epidemic of failures of "good delivery" and loans made to mask "failures to deliver" that we are currently experiencing, threatens the very core and integrity of our financial system. These problems need to be dealt with IMMEDIATELY, even before the implementation of the proposed Regulation SHO.

As each day goes by, the investment losses pile up, another handful of micro cap companies go bankrupt, and the inevitable loss in investor confidence once this little "industry within an industry" is exposed increases. This is occurring at a time when the system can ill-afford any new scandals involving perceived regulatory apathy. Our comments will first address some specific suggestions and then some generalizations based on 21 years of research on the phenomenon known as "naked short selling."

Throughout the process of designing these new rules, we ask that you keep one fact at the forefront of your mind. That being that the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation ("DTCC") is aggressively driving towards STP or "straight through processing." This means that the trade date will equal the settlement date, i.e., settlement date will be referred to as T+0. T

Just to clarify, in regards to Kaido's Elephant nature I am speaking thematically.

To begin let's address the Elephant in the room:

It's clear that when designing Kaido, Oda included several hints about his personality. The tattoos allude to his status as the kingpin behind the Smiles, his scar - his warmongering nature and his horns + Pelt as...why horns, why a pelt too? I mean, sure he looks a little like Oars and I suppose we're gearing up to have that parallel explored later and *I guess* his purple pelt sort of gives him that barbarian look but what if there was another, more intentional reason?

What if his horns were meant to evoke Tusks and his pelt -fur?

Kaido as the leader of the Beast Pirates is a figure that many in the crew look up to, non more-so than Jack the dragdo-Drought!

There's one thing that we know for sure about Jack and that's that he's a massive let dow-WOOLY MAMMOTH, he's a big furry ancient elephant. So if that's the case then why is he seemingly so inspired by the look that his captain has gone for? He's certainly gone above and beyond in the horn department and his pelt is similar to Kaido's own. As the very first member of the beast pirates we were introduced to Jack had an important job.

Foreshadowing,

Not just Kaido's character design and themes, but also the concept of pirates in excess of 1billion berries and the multiple man effort to take them down.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
