A list of puns related to "Canadian Arctic tundra"
This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 45%. (I'm a bot)
> North American beavers are moving much further north towards the Arctic Circle than they used to, according to the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's 2021 Arctic Report Card.
> Over 12,000 beaver ponds have been counted so far in western Alaska alone, with most areas showing a doubling of beaver ponds over the past 20 years.
> The report says that beavers are transforming the tundra ecosystem creating new ponds and diverting the flow of rivers.
> Whether their expansion northwards is entirely due to climate change or increased populations following historical reductions in the trapping of beavers for fur and food, or a combination of the two, is not entirely clear, but we do know that beavers are having a significant impact on the ecosystems they are colonizing.
> Arctic beaver observation network currently mapping new beaver ponds in Canada.
> In 2017, the Inuvialuit Settlement Region of Northwest Canada implemented a beaver hunting scheme due to concern of rising beaver numbers.

I was looking at a picture of Nunavut on another sub, and it made me wonder, how do you keep kosher in a tundra climate?
Not many vegetables grow out there... and sure you have plenty of fish and berries, but the locals tend to also eat seal, whale, and bear.
I suppose muskox and caribou and some bird species are kosher.
So that assumes a kosher diet would be muskox, caribou, various species of fish and birds, and berries.
But how about whale and seal blubber and fat, which comprise an important part of a tundra diet? Perhaps not the blood, but harsh climates would assume you would live much more off the land than usual.
