Had a great GPA and LSAT, with nothing else really going for me after having planned to go to law school for 5 years and centering my activities around that.
I'm a junior at the end of the spring semester retaking an Econ course that I did back during my Sophmore Year to replace the grade. In a lapse of judgment that I thought little of, I reused an old assignment and the Professor noticed. Naturally, I don't just get a 0 on the assignment. I fail the course that I was only retaking to raise my GPA and get the academic integrity violation on my record. I could try and appeal but my case is pretty open and shut. Self-plagiarism is a thing, apparently, and I'd imagine ignorance isn't an excuse. Law-school dream is dead, not just cause of the GPA drop but because academic integrity violations are sulfuric acid.
I was in the Ninth Inning with a 3-0 lead and found a way to fuck things up. Always manage to find a way to stay in character. I guess I'll wallow in self-pity for a week and then replan things.

I'm sorry, it might be me, but isn't her vision very one-sided. I do agree that technology causes extra stress and FOMO. It's why I decided to deactivate all of my social media channels a while back. However saying this is thé reason, I don't believe that. The expectations of companies towards workers has also changed and we're also bombarded with bad news on a daily basis, because that sells better.
And then this quote about 'people who are the best version of themselves'. Good lord, who even says that. That sounds so conceited.

I thought he was insane.
He said it was safe before everyone stops at 4-ways. He said he’s already been doing it for a couple months and nothing happened.
I told him one day maybe someone blows through it by accident you may hit them. Still not convinced.
About a month later, he stopped doing it. I asked him why. He said he thought about it a lot and then realized if he figured out that if too many people adopt his mindset of blowing the stop signs at 4-ways then the risk is very real he can hit someone else.
It’s only safe now because the majority of the people stop at 4-ways. Them being responsible is what is protecting him.
That’s kind of like herd “stop” aka herd immunity.
Get the vaccine or else you are just like my good friend when he used to blow through stop signs.
