A list of puns related to "Bootleggers and Baptists"
In 1928, four-year old Melvin Horst lived in Orrville, Ohio, with his parents, Raymond and Zorah Horst, as well as his eight-year old brother, Ralph, and two-year old sister, Elgie. On the afternoon of December 27, Melvin went outside to play in the neighbourhood and took a toy truck he just received as a Christmas gift with him. At 5:30 PM, Zorah went outside to call Melvin in for dinner, but he did not come home and she noticed his toy truck was lying in the front yard. When Melvin failed to turn up, a massive search was launched for him and the case would garner nationwide attention. Friends of Melvinโs had been playing with him in a vacant lot located one block away from his house before they went their separate ways at 5:15. Investigators initially suspected that Melvinโs disappearance may have been a ransom kidnapping. While the Horsts were a working-class family, one of their neighbouring families was fairly wealthy and had a boy around Melvinโs age who resembled him. However, the mistaken identity theory was dismissed when no ransom demands came in.
On January 2, 1929, five people who lived around the corner from the Horst residence were arrested. This included 60-year old Elias Arnold, his two sons, 30-year old William and 17-year old Arthur, his 20-year old daughter, Dorothy McHenry, and her husband, Bascom McHenry. The Arnolds had a bad reputation and a history of criminal activity, as Elias had spent a portion of the year in jail for bootlegging. It was believed that the Arnolds abducted Melvin as part of a revenge scheme against his uncle, Roy Horst. Roy was the town marshal and known for strictly enforcing Prohibition and had previous run-ins with the Arnold family. The entire case against them hinged on the eyewitness testimony of Charles Hannah Jr., nicknamed โJuniorโ, who was the eight-year old son of Eliasโ brother-in-law. Four days after Melvin went missing, Junior came forward and told police he had seen Arthur Arnold approach Melvin while he was walking home and offer him an orange. After Melvin took a bite out of the orange, he accidentally dropped it, so Arthur grabbed him and took him inside his house. Junior later saw Arthur and Elias taking Melvin out of the house before they placed him in a car and drove away. William, Dorothy and Bascom were released from custody because they had rock-solid alibis, as they had dinner at an auntโs house before going to a basketball game in another town on the night Melvin went missing. Since Eli

As the title states, I got robbed whilst dancing. I have filed a report, cancelled cards and blocked and blacklisted my phone.
I was hoping if anyone sees a wallet about that is a Comme des Garcons Super Fluo orange leather, and sees store cards and other bits with initials K.S that will be mine - I really do want it back as it holds my HK ID card and most importantly, a photograph of my brother when he was 4.
Phone is a Pixel 3 XL in 'Almost Pink', with a clear silicone case and a sticker inserted with "Filthy XIII" on it.
The perp(s) took my stuff after 1am, and proceeded towards Tesco Extra for a late night shopping spree. They managed 3 transactions with my contactless debit card and then headed off to Shell to make another. Luckily the Fraud Dept of my bank has reversed those payments.
It is a long shot, but I am hoping they will just chuck my wallet aside somewhere. That photo means so much to me, it just breaks my heart.
Edit: I've studied the CCTV, and it's a couple who did this and they seemed super professional. I clocked them when they first arrived at Bootlegger as they stood out. He's a tall, big black guy in a nice suit, looking like Mr Marsellus Wallace from Pulp Fiction, and she was a skinny, white blonde ponytailed chick in a white t-shirt and jeans. He was dressed to impress, she was to pop to the shops. He looked rather unimpressed, whilst she was all over him - they just didn't seem like a "couple".
Someone had their wallet and phone stolen at the Coconut Tree a few days later, so someone is doing the rounds in that area.
With all the glitches and bugs introduced with the patch people are losing money because they keep buying the mash and losing their deliveries but if you do bootleggers missions and story missions at least three times it will reduce the cost of mash to either being green or $10 depending on how successful you are during the bootleg missions.
I remembered some questions about this mystery on a past unresolved post now archived. Original theories were the body of a trucker/drifter missing from the Lewiston area back in the 70s. Turns out it's far older and now among one of the oldest cases broke open by forensic DNA genealogy. Pretty cool the identification also includes backstory on criminal past including prior murder. This individual murdered his wife, with an ax, and then shortly after vigilante justice was meted out in him meeting his demise and being dismembered and left in the cave. Someone has long old secrets out there.
This article makes no mention of the ostrich body parts also found in the cave on a prior search; so I guess that mystery is still unresolved.
Hey all itโs been a long time since weโve done a meetup and so I thought Iโd extend an invite to this event called โpints and politics.โ
If youโre into political or philosophical debates this is the event for you. Also pints are $3.50 all night so thatโs a plus too. Hope to see ya there
Update: we are here in the bar, at a big table. Come say hi!
Update 2: just moved it outside! See yโall soon
These missions kind of confuse me, I never fail them, but I can only ever find one camp in the search area and when the timer runs out I have only destroyed like 2-3 out of 5 of the supplies. I search as thoroughly as I can and can never find another camp or destructible supplies.
Is there something I'm missing?
