Hello from Vietnam ^ ^

I was recently admitted to GIP program at GIST. Though being excited and happy on receiving the news, I face a new problem : the internship starts on 21st of June and ends on 16th of April, and I will not finish my midterms until 29th of June. I think about 2 solutions: either contact the professor/ program coordinator and explain my situation, or talk to the teachers in Vietnam. I was wondering if my first option is even possible because of the competition and the program is fully funded. I would love to hear some other suggestions!

Synergy Pilot in Fukushima, Japan

We’ve been negotiating and scoping with our counterparts in Fukushima since the beginning of the year. It’s only now that we’re able to announce that we’ve officially signed an agreement with the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) in Japan, through its subsidiary, the Fukushima Renewable Energy Institute (FREA). This university-based research facility is one of the leading Japanese research facilities in renewable energy. With a range of resources at its disposal—from EV charging stations to energy storage systems and their own small-scale solar farms—FREA has chosen Electrify as the partner to carry out studies into how these assets can form part of an energy trading network, using real-time data and our matching engine in Synergy. We will provide more details on the project as we get underway.

I'm pretending to apply for OIST by the end of 2019, and I could not find any tips, information, etc about the application process - besides the OIST site itself.

How hard is the to get on this internship?
They provide enough money to at least eat and have any dorm?

The Beckman Institute offers three postdoctoral fellows programs to support outstanding young scientists at the Beckman Institute: the Beckman Institute Postdoctoral Fellows Program, the Beckman–Brown Interdisciplinary Postdoctoral Fellows Program, and the Carle Foundation Hospital–Beckman Institute Postdoctoral Fellows Program. These programs offer a wonderful opportunity for scholars to engage in a three-year fellowship of interdisciplinary research at the Beckman Institute. Each year, four to six Beckman Institute Postdoctoral Fellows and one Beckman–Brown Interdisciplinary Fellow are selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants. Approximately every three years, one or two Carle Foundation Hospital–Beckman Institute Postdoctoral Fellows are likewise selected.
