A list of puns related to "Beside Me"
He took his scythe and started chopping the carrots with me. Very scary when you are dicing with death.
βHoney, can you hear me!?β She turned around and shouted, βFor the third time, yes I can hear you!β
..on the other hand, also the one who never left.
Its driver said, "Excuse me, buddy. I was wondering if you could give me a few directions?"
"Sure...North West and South East," I replied.
We were on a holiday in Spain and we saw a concrete wall guarding a yard at someone's house. On top of the wall the owner had clued broken bottles in stead of barbed wire.
Me and my girlfriend were shocked and I said "I can't believe someone would do this."
"I Just can't get over this..."
she didn't realise until I said
"it would just hurt me too much."
Proud moment...
From the shelf beside him, an abacus says "Dont worry kid, you can always count on me"
This actually happened a couple years ago, but I've decided to finally come out if lurking to share it here.
I was on a trip with some friends and we had stopped for lunch. We weren't very busy so my buddy and I shared a plate of wings and a couple pitchers of beer. When it came to pay, the bill was $20.01 (I don't remember how much it actually was, but it was an odd number) and we just split the bill down the middle. When we got our checks, his had the extra penny. We joked about him paying so much more, and so I said I would add an extra penny to my tip, plus one more penny to one up him.
Afterwards when we were walking out my buddy turned to me and said "do you think she'll she even notice?" I said "I like to think that she will notice and maybe chuckle at it. Besides pennies can add up and make a difference, but that's just my 2 cents"
I am not a dad yet. But I definitely feel the fatherly humor running through my veins.
I went full sexist pig, βYOU'RE in charge of cooking around here woman and YOU should do it, because it's YOUR job and I can just wait for my coffee.β
She replied coldly, βNo, YOU should do it and besides, it's in the Bible that the man should do the coffee.β
I guffawed, βI canβt believe that, show me!β
So she fetched the Bible and opened to the New Testament and showed me the top of several pages, that it indeed says, βHEBREWS!β
HeHe.
my biology teacher told this one in class today.
i was the only student that found it genuinely funny.
the class was silent, besides me. i was laughing. really hard.
:'(
I was 16 and at a rowing regatta I was competing in. It was middle of the day and very hot everyone was under these massive gazebo/tent structures with big guide wires and these huge rusty steel tent pegs sledgehammered into the dirt.
Anyways I was running late for my race and my crew were yelling at me so I started running. The shortest way was through the spectator area on a big downhill towards the water so at full pace I went that way.
About halfway the top of my barefoot trips on the rusted top of one of these steel pegs and I fall face first and tumble through the dirt with my foot and ankle split open.
People run from all directions, medical staff etc someone holds a towel over my head for shade and I see my dad. He's looking down at me but it's hard to see through the dirt in my eyes and people around.
He asks "bloody hell mate, what happened?".
In agony I manage a "I kicked a tent peg".
He knelt down beside me, looked me in the eye and said "how far did it go?"
I left it beside the shed in the alley. The next morning it was soaked, and super deep with water. I would have just poured it out, but I'm in an apartment and the landlord would get mad; no good place to pour it out. So my buddy gave me this instructional video, and it really helped out. My wagon's dry as a steel owl now thanks to this video. I highly recommend it. It's called "How to Drain Your Wagon".
I will now take suggestions on how to be more sensitive to deaf people. I'm all ears!
I was checking out the reduced section, when a woman beside me pointed at a bakery item and said to her child "Scone". I replied "Nah, it's still there." I should have walked away at this point, instead I stood proudly grinning for at least 30 seconds.
I was sitting on the couch with my 3 month old daughter. Our dog comes up to us and starts licking my daughter's toes. My wife, who is sitting beside me, looks at me with a straight face and says "I hope she enjoys that free pet-icure ". Me and my daughter let out a big sigh.
And my dad came and sat down beside me at the table. I apologized for not waiting to begin my meal, and told him that I was utterly starving having not had lunch.
He looked at me and said "I can tell, I can see your ribs" then he began to eat.
King Broderick was in trouble. He wasn't a very good king, and his brother Argyle was gathering forces to depose him and take the crown. In desperation, he captured Count Petrie, a very popular man who was one of his brother's cronies, and tortured him to learn his brother's location.
But the count wouldn't divulge the information, so the King scheduled a public execution. The crowds gathered, including the King's brother, who was there in disguise. The Count was forced to kneel, with his head on the chopping block. The headsman stood nearby, holding his axe at the ready. King Broderick loudly proclaimed "Count, you are here before me because you have aligned yourself with my brother. If you tell me where he is, I will allow you to live out your days in my dungeon. Remain silent, and you will die." The Count remained silent. King Broderick motioned to the headsman, who slowly raised his axe and swung it down...THUNK...into the wood next to the Count's head. The Count stared at the axe, visibly shaking. King Broderick loudly proclaimed "Count, that was a warning, and there will not be another. Tell me where my brother is and you will live. Remain silent, and you will die!" The Count stayed silent. King Broderick again motioned to the headsman, who raised the axe. As the headsman began the downswing, the Count cried out "Wait!!" but...THUNK...it was too late, and the Count's head fell to the ground.
At the Count's death, the King's brother leapt up and revealed himself to the crowd. Cheering Argyle, they crowded forward and overran the King's guards. Soon, it was Broderick's head on the chopping block. Argyle, the new King, waved back the headsman, knelt beside his brother and whispered into his ear "Silly brother, don't hatchet your Counts before they've chickened."
Helping my dad move in. One room had nothing in it yet, and was completely empty besides a nightstand and a painting of two bears dancing in a forest.
My dad walks in: "Wow, this room is too bare".
Me: stares Dad: "Two. Bear."
My dad used to wake me up by standing beside my bed and repeatedly saying, "Up and atom (at 'em). Up and proton. Up and electron. Up and molecule." Now he still does it when I'm home from college, and as I get harder to rouse, more subatomic particles.
Me: "Yeah, it really is. Guys. Girls. Cars. Pianos."
Them: "What? Pianos? How's that work besides putting a sexy person on top?"
Me: "I mean...I am pian-sexual..."
People died.
My parents visited me last weekend. Short on ideas, we decided to hit up a widely-respected art museum. They had some new exhibitions, some of which were a little outside our personal tastes and expectations.
We walked into a photography exhibit and saw, along one wall, a sheet of green. This sheet of green was a little higher and taller than the average door, and stretched all the way down that bit of wall plus a few feet onto the floor.
"Oh," I said, "a green screen. That's kind of a neat little thing to have here. Sort of an homage to that style of film, I guess?"
Little did I know. In hindsight, I don't know why I expected anything different.
My father and I approached the plaque beside it. There we learned the truth: This was not a green screen. No. No, this was a specially printed photograph.
A photograph... of a green screen.
There we stood, astonished at the audacity of the thing before us. "My God," I said aloud, "This, right here, this is something else. This is just plain genius. Can you imagine getting money for something like this? Why didn't we come up with this? This is gold!"
To which my dad simply responded, "No, son...
... it's green."
Let me preface this with some info. Firstly, me and my father are idiots; our jokes can become insensitive if we aren't careful, as we have few filters. My parents live in a tiny town amidst a thousand other tiny towns. One of the tiny towns right beside us (let's call it Townsburg) has a lot of forest and extra land, so towards the end of the summer when it's still hot but the land is starting to dry out, it's rather susceptible to fires. The other day, Townsburg caught fire in a few different places. The town my parents live in (we'll call it Cityville) is the sausage capital of our state. Yep. Sausage capital. Like brisket and such. Our proudest export is meat. Meat is what we are most proud of. I don't live there anymore, thank the universe.
So I went by my parents house on the way home from work one day to check on my retired, sick father, and watch the news with him (something I try to do whenever I can). And what happened next, well, it all just happened so fast...
Me: "Whoa, Townsburg is on fire again. I guess Cityville isn't the barbecue capital anymore, AYO." Dad: "Nope. Looks like they're about to be the barbecued capital." Me: "...we may need to stop hanging out so much."
My mom's boyfriend and I were talking about weighing the new kittens and I walked into a joke.
Him: Put her on the weighing scale.
Me: What do scales do besides weighing things?
Him: Protect lizards and snakes..
Me: ...
Him: And make fish pretty.
While driving, a man beside us is wearing a cowboy hat.
Her: that cowboy is intense.
Me: No he isn't, he's in car!
If looks could kill...
Me and my boyfriend were sitting in bed watching a James Bond movie when my cat crawled under the blanket and curled beside me. I said to him "she's under cover". He pulled up the blanket and started blowing on her - I asked him what he was doing, and he said "blowing her cover".
I just arrived at my parent's house for a week long vacation and needed to know the WiFi password.
Me, yelling to mom who was in the kitchen: "Mom, what's the WiFi password?"
Mom: "It's written on a piece of paper by the computer!"
Me: "What?!"
Dad, sitting beside me on the couch: "The password is " itswrittenonapieceofpaperbythecomputer"... no spaces."
My family was going out to dinner one night at a nice steakhouse, I excused myself to go to the bathroom. As I walked up to a urinal, I saw my dad walk to the urinal beside me. We both got down to business, my dad said "So this is where all the dicks hang out huh?" then finished up and left. I couldn't make eye contact with my father for the rest of the night....
Asked my Dad what his favorite college football team is besides his alma mater and my university.
Dad: "Georgia Tech of course." Me: "Why?" Dad: "They're the only football team named after an article of clothing..."
-_-
The waitress waked into the kitchen at my work and this exchange followed:
Waitress: I am so hungry.
Me: Hi, So Hungry, I'm Dan.
Guy beside me: Nice to meet you I'm Friday. Come back Saturday and I'll give you a sundae.
He and I broke into childish laughter at this. I didn't see her face, but with that kind of joke, you don't need to.
NASCAR was on in the restaurant I was in and there was a big crash and said so out loud and other people looked up to see.
A dad beside me looked up and said "That's the Kentucky Derby!" to his family who all chuckled.
I said "I think this race has a few more horses in it." and they all laughed harder.
I was in Paris and uploaded a photo I took of the Venus de Milo.
Dad: This guy looks pretty 'armless Me: oh dear Mum: besides which, I think it's a girl Me: the boobs give it away Mum: ya reckon?
Shut down, dad.
