A list of puns related to "Battle of Vitoria order of battle"
First, let's eliminate the French problem. Napoleon's death sends French forces into disarray, as the allied coalition sweeps across Europe and into France.
The OTL Governor-General of the Canadas, Prevost, is recalled -- but this time in 1813. The British seek a quick but effective resolution to the "American question". The Prince Regent takes personal interest in the War of 1812 after hearing of the burning of York, capital of Upper Canada, that spring. Lord Liverpool, flush with patriotic zeal after Leipzig, wants Wellington to pursue a punitive campaign to end the war.
Wellington is named GG of the Canadas and de facto cmdr-in-chief of British N. America forces. Resources used in Spain are redirected to the war in Canada, including the British Navy freed from blockade duties, in 1813.
As in OTL, US army reforms turn the ragged US militia into professional regulars and the US Navy still scores victories in Lake Erie, Niagara and ship-to-ship.
Wellington can arrive in Quebec City as early as August 1813 or as late as mid-Sept. 1813. In OTL, Wellington did not like Prevost's cautious approach (it was pragmatic in 1812 with few resources, but seen as lacking initiative later on), but he also felt the conflict could not be won in practical terms.
But, without the shadow of the Napoleonic Wars and enabled with Peninsular-like resources and vice-regal colonial authority ... how would the rest of the War of 1812 unfold under his watch?
So Iβve been writing fluff about an imperial guard homebrew regiment that charges into battle on fire breathing crocodiles that are the size of horses and in my fluff a new space marine chapter and sisters of battle order decide to call the planet home due to the planet being considered holy much to the anger of the planets population who consider this the imperium breaking the promise the emperor made to their folk hero the old grump who was just difficult enough to beat in a 1v1 that the emperor just decided to broker a treaty with them instead so he could move on. Now every man, woman and child is marching to confront the sisters and the marines and I had a thought would the imperium even let this get as far as it did or would they pump the breaks and tell the other two to find a different planet and if the three managed to find a balance who would rule the planet, what would their tithes be like itβs got a couple of interesting questions.
Dresden has never actively hurt anyone, yet the White Council has never trusted him, and now actively dehumanizes him, treating him as a "monster". Why? Because he disrupts the order that they benefit from, and directly threatens the power of the Senior Council. He is not someone they can control, and the authoritarian structure of the White Council cannot accept that. The White Council is not, and has never been, truly democratic, and is rather, an oligarchy where a small group has near absolute power over the entirety of human wizardry. They might have started out as heroes in the beginning, and may still pretend to be the heroes, but over time, their unchecked power has made them no better than the monsters they claim to fight. It's like that quote from Nietzsche. "He who fights monsters should see to it that he himself does not become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you." Any organization with unchecked power over an entire group of people will eventually end up like the White Council. I believe that is the underlying message hidden within the Dresden Files. What do you think?
I hear how epic, grand and large the final battle (Battle of Yuuzhanβtar) of the New Jedi Order series is and how satisfying and perfect of a conclusion it should have been for the Expanded Universe. But Iβd love to know in more details about it, how big was it and how many ships were in the battle? Is it bigger than the Battle of Exegol, because even though it wasnβt a very good battle there were heaps of ships in it and the number of it were massive. And also what do you guys think of the final battle in general as I hear the Battle of Yuuzhanβtar is the biggest battle in Star Wars history and what do you guys think of Luke Skywalker, Jacen Solo and Jaina Solo storming the citadel and defeating Shimrra Jamaane and Onimi once and for all?
How did Luke inspire the galaxy? Before the battle even began the first order reigned, reduced the Resistance to about 50 people, and Luke Skywalker did nothing to stop this. His arrival does nothing to stop further destruction of the Resistance and he doesnβt even take on the FO in any meaningful capacity, he simply bought time for the losers. To those that say he did βthe most Jedi thing everβ by being a pacifist- nobody in the galaxy will care about or even understand his political statement, just the same as his exile, all they wanted was a hero(es) to defend them. So Luke waited until the FO took over and the Resistance got crushed to the point where they were the size of a small group of bounty hunters. Why would he be an inspirational figure when he didnβt help until it was too late and when he did help it was minor and hindered by his own political views that no one cares about.
Plus, Kylo Ren for all intents and purposes killed Luke Skywalker- he disappeared and was never seen again. Why would they care about someone who went out stalling for time after the war was lost? This should be a great day for the FO who managed to take over the galaxy, kill Luke Skywalker (the last known Jedi as Rey has done nothing in the war at this point), and wipe the Resistance to nothing. Also the First Order won the battle, the Resistance was forced into a retreat and the FO lost like 6 TIEs.
The whole thing is so unearned, but Rian wanted something that he didnβt set up in the slightest and then TROS promptly ignored this because it made no damn sense.
We see homebrew Space Marines Chapters too often. What about showing off other factions for a change?
This week will be the nuns with guns, the Sisters of Battle of the Adepta Sororitas. As always, feel free to ask for help from the others and, if you want some help to start, here are the 1d4chan's creation tables.
I am very new to the hobby and have assembled my first squad of Battle Sisters. I have been considering making a custom order, but have no idea how that would work rules-wise. Is there some resource for making a custom order, or do you just use the rules from an existing order?
Hey folks. I hate to sound dense, but I canβt seem to actually find out what went into a standard lance at specific times.
At this point, Iβve purchased the Beginner Box, the Battlemech Manual, Technical Readout: Succession Wars, and Alpha Strike: Commanderβs Edition. Throughout all of that, unless I am missing it, nowhere does it say what any factionβs standard order of battle looks like.
For example, during the success wars, if I want to create a standard Draconis lance from the Fourth Sword of Light regiment, what would that be? Where can I find that? Iβve seen people mention that the royal regiments had specific mechs, but is there a list in one of the books as to what mechs were favored by which factions, and when?
Edit: if anyone else ever looks for this information, it is in the combat manual. Specifically, Kurita, pages 86-90. Standard lances.
I'm still haven't read all the HH books, if its explained somewhere, my bad for being unaware.
My dad was a member of the BLT 2/4 Communications Platoon. He served as a replacement assistant machine gunner and remembers being subjected to enemy supporting arms and small arms and believes that he qualifies for the combat action ribbon. He is 75 now and I really want to help him with this but am not sure how to go about finding other vets or their familyβs who might remember him. Any help in the right direction is appreciated.
