A list of puns related to "BMW N54"
Iβm on an RSX type S group because thatβs my other car. I am ALWAYS seeing people looking for replacement engines and transmissions. On my E90 group, I never ever see anyone searching for a new engine or transmission. Itβs either turbos or just some other smaller part like injectors.
BUT I also never really see any posts of 335iβs with over 200k miles. And on the RSX community I see plenty with 200k plus, as they call that, just getting broken in.
Anyone want to chime in? Are these engines and trannys really that bulletproof? Or do most people just scrap them when the other parts fail.
Iβm coming up on 200k miles (at 185k) on my 335 and it runs beautifully. Iβve noticed no difference from 120k to now. I stay on top of maintenance and replaced almost every troubling part and most of the cooling system besides my injectors. The turbos were replaced under warranty 6 years ago or so and they have only seen a bunch of highway miles and light use.
Just want to know what I should be expecting from my engine and transmission as they both are working flawlessly
Like I have money to replace injectors, a clutch, HPFP or LPFP, but I know these engines are expensive so that may be my parting point. But I never ever see anyone with ACTUAL engine trouble on lightly modded and tuned cars.
Hey having a little issue here, so I have a 335i that Iβm attempting to replace the dme, but the issue Iβm coming across is that an immobilizer code come up, also an anti tampering code also. The dme come from a 2013 bmw E93( convertible) if you can offer any kind of assistance or knowledge itβll be greatly appreciated
I have an VRSF Catless DownPipe, i'm looking to get a whole set up but i want between these 2 options. Which one is less raspy, less obnoxious, less drone and sounds better?
VRSF Street Catback Exhaust Or COBB 3-Series Catback Exhaust
Something that isn't annoying with my passangers, my neighbors and myself since i do Daily drive my BMW.
What are the best coils and injectors for a tuned n54 (jb4). Im looking for max performance, thanks.
Hello everyone, I'm looking into purchasing a BMW for pleasure, I already have an automatic car that I'm not planning on selling (Volvo S60 T6), so this would be a manual for fun only. I've narrowed it down to either the *28i or *35i (hopefully a RWD), but I'm not sure whether to get the 1 series or 3 series. I know they have many similar parts, but how is the drive? I'm a bit worried that the 1 series has too little room for work under the hood. The cars within my budget have 200k to 300k km, and I'm planning to repair the easy repairs myself. The car would be purchased no earlier than January 2021. Your help would be much appreciated, thank you! P.S. as a side note, I live in Canada, and my budget is 6k CAD.
so I replaced my oil filter housing gasket and water pump, I now have the codes 2A7C (Vanos, intake, cold start) and 3100 ( Boost pressure control, shutdown). the car idles very rough and gives me the half check engine light indicating limp mode, the car is a 2008 335xi with 74k miles on it. anyone got any ideas? for context, I fully removed the intake manifold and replaced the gaskets on it. I do not have any misfire codes only the 2 codes listed
(UPDATE- ended up just being that the car had to relearn its self, took it for a drive and it snapped out of it)
