Therapy Ideas or interventions that you've found effective for kids with ADHD?

I'm an LCSW and one of my clients I've been seeing for 3 months is a school age boy with severe ADHD and may be on the spectrum. I've only had two-three good sessions with him and the rest is just us floating by. I've been working with kids since 2015 and I've never met a kid like this. I've been able to get the hardest cookies to crack, and open or even participate but he refuses to do everything I say or offer. He just jumps around the office, hanging upside down on furniture, and asking if it's time to go. Parents started medicine, but half time he's with mom whom is not a fan of giving it.

Any ideas or practices you found helpful with kids like this? Much appreciated.

Effective interventions for those with chronic pain and disability?

Hello!

I'm a new therapist and I work within an outpatient community mental health setting. I see a lot of clients with chronic pain and with disabilities caused by aging, onset of illness and injury. I'm really struggling with finding effective interventions and strategies to help these folks feel better with the infinite amount of depression they are facing due to a lack of independence and unmanageable pain. I'll take any tips I can get. Thanks!

Mom, my son's assessment for Early Intervention Services was today. His score qualified him for services and I'm feeling so overwhelmed

All 4 scores were below the threshold and there are several areas of concern regarding his development. He isn't responding to his name, won't pay attention when I try to show him something, isn't talking at all, won't play with me for any sustained amount of time, etc.

I cant help but feel like I just haven't done enough for him, that i should have made different choices up to this point to help his development more.

I tried telling dad and he just sent a heart eyes emoji as a response, which made no sense. I dont know if he even read what I sent.

I wish you were here to tell me what I was like as a kid and what your struggles were when you were raising a 1 year old, how you felt as a new mom. And I wish you could meet him and see how wonderful he is despite being a little different than other toddlers.

And its a little late, but happy mothers day πŸ’—

Himanta Biswa Sarma to Prince Gandhi after he attacks Bharat Biotech yet again.

Mr Disinformation Gandhi, first you tried to mislead India on the 'Made in India' vaccines. Now you're again trying to create confusion.

Today when we are one of the only 12 nations to have developed their own vaccine, Instead of being proud Indian, you're trying to tarnish its image by encouraging vaccine hesitancy and abusing our hard working scientists.

Mr Disinformation Gandhi, you can criticise PM @narendramodi ji but why are you discrediting our scientists and entrepreneurs?

You didn't congratulate them when they developed vaccines and now you spread misinformation about the vaccines. Your hatred towards β€˜made in India’ is well documented. In 2008, the Congress Govt shut down three vaccination manufacturing units of the GOI and it needed the Supreme Court’s intervention in 2012 to reopen them.

Since 1948, the Congress has been trying to eliminate TB through various vaccination programs but has failed miserably. It took @narendramodi ji's decisive government to finally agree to eliminate TB by 2025. Himanta Biswa Sarma @himantabiswa Β· 10h Bharat Biotech developed an effective vaccine for encephalitis but UPA continued to buy Chinese vaccines. It was PM Modi who introduced β€˜Made in India'vaccines for rotavirus, encephalitis& rubella into the Universal Vaccination Program while you continued buying Foreign vaccines.

Your problem with vaccines made by hardworking Indian scientists is understandable. It is okay if you wish to take a foreign vaccine, they will now be available in private hospitals.

But the abuse for our doctors, scientists, entrepreneurs and our nation as a whole is unreal!
