A list of puns related to "Armando"
Just a cool quirky stat a friend passed along - enjoy!
Iβm catching up on old seasons, and this contrived plot point cracks me up so much every time it happens. The whole cast (plus pillow talkers) will dunk on this poor man and take the chance to assert how they would handle the situation, then each talking head repeats how devastating it would be IF he drops the ball somehow, and thenβ¦
The dad arrives and eloquently tells Armando how proud he is, how much he loves and supports him, etc. Every single one of these scenes ends with this man being an absolute gem. The guy even goes out of his way to make kind gestures to Kennyβs fam. Then, next time itβs time to see Dad, everyone gets all dramatic about whether heβll βget itβ again. Absolutely hilarious to meβI feel like the producers must have just had terribly boring footage from those two (due to them being generally sane, kind, not abusive or racist, etc.) and couldnβt find anywhere else to insert drama π
"I know that you have a WHOLE family who loves and accepts both of us, and maybe giving my daughter an American education would be a good thing, I'd rather us stay here where everyone hates us for being gay, and my family is stand-offish and uncomfortable about it."
The End.
Edit: this thread blew up and my inbox has been torched by people who are upset. Lemme be more clear here: nevermind an education system, you can't deny the standard of living in the US is better. Mexico is regularly on lists for dangerous places to travel, cartel warfare, kidnapping, extortion and all sorts of other things. You can't deny that life might be better for Armandos kid in America. Anyone who doesn't think so is in denial. Nevermind the education system. If you have the opportunity to raise your kid in the US, most Mexican people want to do it. I know you living in the UK for example don't see the appeal, but I'm not talking about YOU or anyone else who lives in a westernized country overseas in Europe or etc.
That is all.
So glad to be done with that part of the storyline.
I have been so moved by their journey as presented on the program. Just wanted to acknowledge their contributions! So moving to watch them grow! I think it shows how possible it is for people to alter their perceptions when they have a personal connection. I still get teary eyed when I recall Armando's mom saying she didn't want him to interpret her tears as a lack of acceptance, and dad's enthusiasm and tears at the wedding. I am so glad that they were willing to share their journey and I hope we get to see them again!
(and yes i know this happened awhile ago.... i'm always behind the times with television)
Children are resilient and it would benefit her so much to be enrolled in an American school now while sheβs young and can pick up the language easily. It just seems like so much grief and effort to put Kenny through for her to βhave her grandparentsβ.
Maybe itβs because I didnβt grow up with my grandparents, but I donβt get the struggle theyβre putting themselves through. It feels a little unnecessary and a lot unfair.
Edit: I think I triggered a lot of people by mentioning Hannah and the US specifically when what Iβm getting at is Kenny seems to make all the sacrifices in this relationship and I think thatβs unfair.
I really thought Armando was a well rounded person but towards the end of this season I think Kenny made a mistake. Armando gets everything he wants out of the relationship and Kenny always has to settle. The relationship seems like Kenny is treating Armando as a child of his own, giving him whatever he wants. There clearly isnβt a an even balance of power. I feel bad for Kenny because he wants love and wants to be loved and he is getting the short end of the stick here.
I really don't understand why Kenny and Armando don't move to the states. They could be living a way better life with Hannah, they can certainly go visit Armandos family every year but Kenny is better connected with his children and should live closer to them and his grandson. Seems Kenny is giving giving giving and Armando is getting everything he needs. I don't see this union being happy unfortunately. Its so obvious how unhappy Kenny is. What exactly do Kenny and Armando do every day in that small town in Mexico? It looks so unstimulating for anyone in that town and especially for Hannah. I vote they move to Florida
