I read Agatha Christie's autobiography shortly after I broke up with my covert-narc ex, and couldn't help but notice the similarities of her relationship to mine. A lot of people can't wrap their heads around why she was abandoned so cruelly, but, to me it sounds like classic narc.

Anyway, a few excerpts from Agatha Christie's Autobiography:

(when Archie proposed)

Then he said fiercely, "You've got to marry me, you've got to marry me." He said he had known it the first evening he danced with me. "I had an awful time getting your address and finding you. Nothing could have been more difficult. There will never be anyone but you. You've got to marry me."

I told him it was impossible, that I was already engaged to someone. He waved away engagements with a furious hand. "What on earth does that matter?" he said. "You'll just have to break it off, that's all."

"But I can't. I couldn't possibly do that".

So she was very sweet to me, and I was slightly embarrassed by her. Archie, true to temperament, was not particularly interested in what she thought of me or I of her. He had the happy attitude of going through life without the least interest in what anyone though of him or his belongings: his mind was always entirely bent on what he wanted himself.

Archie and I had had great arguments the preceding month about names, and about which sex we wanted. Archie was very definite that he must have a daughter.

"I'm not going to have a boy" he said, "because I can see I should be jealous of it. I'd be jealous of your paying attention to it"

"Not, it wouldn't be the same thing."

"We could afford another baby now." I pointed out. I had been contemplating this for some time with a good deal of pleasure.

Archie waved aside another baby. "I don't want anyone but Rosalind" he said. "Rosalind is absolutely satisfactory, quite enough."

He had been worried about the advent of Rosalind beforehand, being afraid, as he said, that nobody would take any notice of him anymore.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

TL;DR

Made all-time hometown rosters with original 30 NBA teams + 25 new teams to split populated areas and big teams (spreadsheet + map)

Player Pool and Team Pool

I used the top 969 players who have at least 10000 minutes played in their career.

Why 10000 minutes played? Because that's the lower standard set by Basketball-Reference to get on their ABA career leaderboard (15000 MP for NBA). I added George Mikan, because even though he hasn't played enough minutes, he's featured in All-Time ESPN NBARank and Bill Simmons Hall of Fame Pyramid.

I started off with the current 30 teams. To split up the Lakers and Clippers, I gave the Clippers their proposed Inglewood site.

As I looked at the map of player hometowns, I realized that there were:

• some areas that had a lot of players, but few close NBA teams
• some areas that had bloated rosters with too many players

Based off city population and arena size, I added 25 new teams.

• I obviously had to give Seattle their team back
• Birmingham, North Little Rock and Shreveport helped to split up the South
• Pittsburgh and St. Louis were big cities without teams
• Berkeley added to siphon off San Francisco
  • if I add Oakland, it takes away too many players
• Anaheim and Westwood added in Southern California (Clippers & Lakers)
• Winston-Salem and Raleigh to pare down Charlotte
• Lansing to prune Detroit
• 2nd Atlanta team in suburb of College Park
• 2nd Washington team and Baltimore
• 2 more teams in Chicago (Rosemont and South Side) + a team in Gary
• 2nd Indiana team + Louisville & Lexington
• 2nd Philadelphia team in suburb of Wynnewood
• 3 more teams in the New York Area (Newark, Queens and Long Island)

1. Michigan Wolverines

Michigan was obviously one of the best teams in the Big Ten last year, winning the B1G regular season (although Illinois fans believe they deserved it based off of their full conference schedule playing out). They lost to Ohio State in the conference Semis but that didn’t stop them from getting a #1 seed and making the Elite 8.

The wolverines brought in the #1 recruiting class (including 5 stars Caleb Houstan and Moussa Diabete, 4 stars Kobe Bufkin, Frankie Collins and Isaiah Barnes, and 3 star Will Tschetter. They picked up DeVante Jones from Coastal Carolina, and return Dickinson, Johns, Howard, Jackson, Williams, and Eli Brooks.

With all this, and the known schedule, I have the Michigan wolverines at 26-5 (16-4 B1G) and losing in the B1G championship to Purdue, entering the tournament at 28-6 where they grab a #2 seed, and will make the Elite 8 and finish out the year at 31-7. I believe they have F4 potential and they do, but for this moment I think E8 is where they end up.

2. Purdue Boilermakers

Purdue’s season obviously ended in heartbreak and disappointment last year at the hands of North Texas, but that shouldn’t be the case this season. They return nearly everybody and bring in a solid recruiting Class with two four stars in Trey Kaufman and Caleb Furst.

Miss Westmacott's first novel appeared in 1928 when Agatha Christie had booked a compartment on the Orient Express and was about to leave for Baghdad. This journey helped her recover after the death of her mother, the imprisonment of Monty (brother) in a psychiatric hospital and the divorce from Archie, and also gave her plots for new novels and a man, who became her biggest love.
