A list of puns related to "Amelia Shepherd"
Praise God. Praise Shonda. Praise Krista. Praise Caterina. They've been hinting at Amelia being something other than straight for YEARS and getting to see her >!kiss someone who isn't a man !<is what we all deserve. Was I rooting for her to end up with Teddy? Yes. But this? I WILL TAKE THIS.
I feel like most people on this sub love/like her. From what I've seen she's a pretty popular character on this sub, but I've seen others list her as a character (in the comments) that is mainly disliked but have fans. Overall on this sub Amelia is a pretty popular character on this sub. I'd like to add Amelia does recive hate from time to time.
So Iβve read the reasons: Amelia is an addict, the black sheep, mother didnβt know what sheβs been through the whole bla bla, but still. The mommy Shepherd who refused to show up for her daughterβs wedding just doesnβt match the mommy Shepherd that we see on the show. I would expect her to show up for any and everything that Amelia got up to, I would have expected joy and support, and no amount of rewatching and browsing Reddit has given me an acceptable explanation for why mommy Shepherd didnβt show up for her own child on her wedding day. I just donβt recognise the woman weβve seen in that phone conversation.
wrong shepherd when she wasn't her father and her mum can't be around her
wrong shepherd when she wasn't derek and reminded meredith
and she was the shadow shepherd/other dr shepherd
i guess there is a reason she is so needy !
I never could hate her even for being exaggerated sometimes
and Caterina Scorsone performance in Private Practice is soOOO good, make her storyline with drug abuse be more interesting
After rewatching from S1, I made it till S12 and I am trying to push through so I can complete the show.
One of my fav episodes of S12 is 'Things We Lost In The Fire' about the firefighter who refuses treatment because he's unlikely to survive and wants the resources and effort to be redirected to his squad. It's just so moving when his wife says, "So this is it. This is the one?" because she's been preparing for 30 years to get this call. It's a rare moving plot that involves a patient and not the usual crap between doctors (which I used to love but now it's so childish).
Anyway, S12 is hard for Meredith since she comes back to work trying to accept that Derek is gone and she's a widow. And Jo / Amelia with their boyfriend problems with Alex / Owen are so fucking annoying. I hate them both.
Jo is such a huge whiner, she acts very princess-y and I just don't buy her trauma because she fails to be empathetic to ANYONE. She's such a bitch to Stephanie but expects Steph to listen to her boy crap and resents her for not being there when she calls Steph's trauma a flat out LIE??? Wtf??? And Amelia talking smack about Cristina leaving, calling Blake some widow shawl that Mer wraps around her and how she's crawling into a hole and dying and Derek being sick over it - WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK WOMAN??
No one should have the right to say such nasty things to someone who lost the love of their life and father of their children. I absolutely hate Jo/Amelia. They are so whiny and pathetic which is the whole reason their boyfriends don't fully trust them and Mer is just so much more mature, so instead of breaking up they just resent Mer?? Honestly, Owen gets Amelia to open up and then when it's time for him, he shuts her out so I get that he sucks but then break up with him. Don't go bitching out Mer??
God they infuriate me. I just hate how they treat Mer, it's like in high school when you the other women instead of the guy who cheated. No, the problem is with the guy or your relationship or both.
Just finished S15 E21 and this family really infuriates me. I just wish Derek was there to help Amelia. It just makes me feel sad for her.
Except for making a random remark of βOh gawd, shut the elf up,β I never really gave much thought to her character until my wife asked me last night if anyone on the sub has ever talked about how irritating her character is? I said I never really see anyone talking about her at all, and she was right, I really do not like her character. What are all your opinions?
I don't have a lot of complaints about Grey's Anatomy, but my biggest one by far is the severe mistreatment of Amelia Shepherd. Unlike most of you'll, my first intro to Shepherdess was when she made her debut on Grey's when Derek was still alive. She was cranky, immature, irritable and so fickle-minded. I disliked her entirely. Over the past few seasons, her trope with Owen has just degraded her character. None of Owen's love interests have left unscathed on Grey's. Recently, I watched S15E21: The Good Shepherd, and oh my god do I have words. Amelia is such an incredible character and the episode was effortless. It brought out so many reasons for why she behaves the way that she does and her sisters frankly suck. My only wish is that they would have shown this sooner, maybe I wouldn't have disliked her all this time. R.I.P.
Thatβs it. Thatβs the post.
I dont know if its the character, Eloise, or if it's the actual actress but the whole time I was watching the show, I always thought of the resemblance and how their voices are so similar.
I overheard the best conversation at the gym yesterday, and it made me think of you all...
Random Girl: So she told me I reminded her of Amelia, and Tyler said "Amelia Earhart?" And she said no, Shepherd!
Random Second Girl: Oh wow, yeah!
Random Girl: My short, dark hair looks like her.
Random Second Girl: Well, yeah, but you're also ridiculously smart and have a huge heart.
Just some wholesome goodness for your Monday!
Delayed watching this Greys episode 1209 cause wasnt feeling Dr Altman that much. so finally did yesterday and the episode was great. Darkness of depression was tangible, great acting very good fake sad. But Amelia. her role. was so delicious. the analysis and breakdown that helped Owen possibly see hope to forgive. Meredith was also really nice but that was a figment of Teddys imagination. So Amelia "IRL" in GA had some really great psychopomp , incredible. love the character to bits. no judgement tons of experience so full of heart. Peace and love buddy.
Amelias precise dissection of forgiveness, hurting people
Teddy overcoming grief after a convincing dream sequence
Owen Hunt looking with peace at Teddy Altman + baby Allison.
Maybe because I didnβt like Derekβs character and Amelia is my favorite, but I didnβt bawl my eyes out over his death like I did Ameliaβs baby.
(Prepares to be downvoted.)
sheβs a very ugly crier. but she played that addict role to a T.
Iβm new to this sub as I just finished catching up with season 16. She has to be my least favorite character on this show. Hate her π₯°
Edit- I will say her with Link is the best Amelia Iβve seen. She was right to be upset that link may not have wanted to be with her had the baby not been his. But I also think thatβs a very normal reaction of linkβs, and just when I started to like her a tiny bit, I hated her when she decided she wouldnβt reveal who the father is. It was just so selfish to me and she has such little redeemable qualities imo
Can we just talk for a minute about how much I love this strong, incredible woman? Iβve had the amazing experience of watching her grow as a person, doctor, soon-to-be mother and friend for several seasons of Greys and Private Practice and I just canβt get enough! She had helped me feel so seen- I have never struggled with a drug addiction or losing a sibling like she has, but the way she feels her emotions so deeply resonates with me. In the past Iβve felt badly about expressing my emotions in an outward, vulnerable way but seeing Amelia just come to life on screen with all of her joy, pain, anger, thoughtfulness and every emotion in between has just been eye-opening for me. She taught me that itβs okay to feel things so deeply. Amelia has gone through hell and she still wears a smile and carries through. βLife will out,β as she so beautifully put it. I wasnβt a fan of her tumor storyline because I felt it took away from her holding herself accountable for her past mistakes because she could blame it on the tumor, but I just admire the woman sheβs become and the mother we will see her become in the next seasons. She deserves a family of love and protection and hope after all sheβs seen and gone through. If her Private Practice self could see the Amelia we know now, I donβt think sheβd even recognize herself. She went through such a journey of holding herself accountable and pushing herself and getting back up on the wagon time after time and still wore that smile. Iβm getting so emotional right now writing this because I just finished a really important Amelia episode in Private Practice and I just really had to share the love with all of you. Caterina is an amazing actress and Iβm so grateful for what sheβs brought to the show. What are your thoughts on Amelia? :)
I honestly don't get all the hate towards Amelia Shepherd. She had such an interesting growth arc especially on Private Practice, and Caterina Scorsone did a brilliant job. She is, in my opinion, one of the most interesting characters in the Grey's anatomy Universe and does not deserve the hate from the fanbase.
I would like to see the Shepherds make an appearance to meet Amelia's baby and to make up. And possibly be invited to Link's and Amelia's wedding (if they ever do). Also, I would really like to see more of the sisters interact with Amelia and Meredith because we really didn't see all of them together. And it would be great for Mrs. Shepherd to see her grandkids( Zola, Bailey, Ellis). I really like the Shepherds, they have something that makes the show more interesting. Like Nancy is a bitch but its funny and Mrs. S is so sweet and caring. If there were to be a spinoff with the Shepherds I would most definitely watch. I would like to see Addison too, I really miss her character and she was Amelia's family for a long time on PP. But MOST importantly I want Amelia to be happy. What do you guys think?
Been watching PP (currently on s5) for the first time and i have to say this:
All her chracater development probably means nothing because guess what, s14 of Grey's blames everything on a tumor that's been growing for about a decade. It makes no sense. Wouldnt she have been showing signs a lot earlier?
I know that so many of you hate her but I have to say I just love her. She is the most quality depiction of a decent human being on the show. I was watching the preview for next week and was so moved by her telling Link. She isnβt beating around the bush. She isnβt keeping secrets. She isnβt lying or playing crazy drama games. She has a problem and she is going to face it and she is going to suffer the consequences. Good for her. If only anyone else on this show could handle their shit the way she does, the whole show would have a lot more Respect from the viewers.
Maybe Amelia sucked in the past. But she is one hell of a character these days.
Anyone agree? Disagree?
Who do you think is the best character in quality human being terms?
(And for what itβs worth I love every new episode. I donβt care if the story sucks or the characters leave. It still makes me happy! I always love it. And I always come back!)
Can someone please explain why people love Amelia so much because I hated the way how she treated Owen but then i just allowed it because of the tumour. But then she was an absolute demon with Link and I just think Link especially deserves so much better her. Once again, someone please explain.
I never liked her in GA, but Iβve been watching Private Practice (I know super late to the party lol) and I dislike her even more now. Sheβs arrogant, spiteful, childish, selfish, inconsiderate, and frankly Iβm sick of her crap. I wish sheβd just get written out of the show already.
Anyone else feel this way, or is it just me?
Iβve been stewing on a title for this for 4 days. Tyne Daly and Tim Daly. I just thought it was interesting.
On a recent season of Greyβs, Amelia gave a really powerful monologue on dealing with grief and the death of her brother. What season/episode was this possibly? All I think I can remember about the scene is she might have been talking to Tom, Link, Maggie, or Deluca in her MRI scan viewing room. I think.
Could someone please help me with correct episode
i know some people canβt stand her for whatever reason, and others are saying you have to watch private practice to understand her (sheβs amazing in that), and then more people are saying sheβs better post tumor.
however i donβt believe she is better post tumor. i love her to death and she will always be my favorite character but it seemed like a cop out. like the writers and shonda tried to come up with an excuse to βvalidateβ her βbadβ decisions.
and letβs no forget that amelia lost herself so much with owen and that he wasnβt good for her, like at all, but because she was the βcrazyβ one she got most of the blame.
say what you want but it seemed like everyone was like βha ha just kiddingβ about amelia and tried to erase her past decisions
