I’m sure I’m not alone in this (pun intended), but I’m so lonely yet it’s hard to be around other people, so I feel more “comfortable” alone. Making friends is hard. I lost most of the ones I had. I feel like the only thing that matters in life is relationships, but they are so hard for me. In a discussion about Weird Al's "All About The Pentiums", someone noticed that the burn of "you're waxin' your modem, tryin' to make it go faster" could also be a pun since Motorola & Arris have released several lines of cable modems named "Surfboard". I wonder if they were first released (long?) before Weird Al's 1999 album with this song on it.
(The pun would be that waxing is something you do to a surfboard to reduce its drag through the water. But it could also be meant more generally about "surfing the internet", which the Surfboard modems could have also punned on independently).
I was able to get as far back as April 1999, via The Internet Archive, to find that Motorola/Arris have had that domain for more than 20 years. But at that date, the album may have already been in post-production.
I don't have a great way to dig back further for modems with that in the model name came out, other than poking the collective brain of the internet. So, did you own/use a cable modem back in the 1990s? Chime in!

So, media have been blaming us retards for what's going on with GME and calling us out for market manipulation. But the big question is: how is GME shorted more than 100% of shares outstanding in the first place?

So guys I'm getting the 2019 version as I don't want to drop 30 on the newest one so how do I maximize my experience on this game also pun intended
The Fantastic 4 will be tricky movie to pull off. But I have faith in Marvel 100%. Having said that, I have some thoughts.
The thing(pun intended) that makes the FANTASTIC 4 great, is their Characters. And is the reason I need to chat about this alittle bit. And because they have so many great ones. It could cause a movie to feel rushed, do to too many characters fighting for screen time(also pun intended). Is why I hope the one we get, can find away to set up some characters before we get to their debut MCU movie. I'd like to see DR. DOOM established before heading into a FANTASTIC 4 feature film. Which the MCU has already proven they are really good at. I hope they intend to handle the Fantastic 4 as well as the Guardians of the Galaxy. I think one of the awesome things about DR. DOOM is the he fits into many different plot angles and story arcs. All I'm saying is I hope the characters all get the full treatment they deserve.
Unless marked as serious, the comment section of the majority of posts is just a circle-jerk of people trying to comment first with the "wittiest", most sarcastic, or facetious observation. The comment section ends up being just chain upon chain of people either making stupid puns or trying to sound like they're original by making an observation that everyone else who saw the post makes - they just happened to comment it first so they get to boost their ego.
If you're stupidly invested in this like I am, you can look at previous posts of these top "witty" commenters and their entire history is just sarcastic remark after ridiculous pun into infinity, and you know that those posts must somehow bring them validation.
This has quickly become more of a personal rant than an attempt to start a discussion, so I'll stop there.
In summary, stop being sarcastic. It doesn't make you seem intelligent or likable. It makes you look like a complete ass. Also, puns are stupid.
5 or so years ago Reddit was known for above average banter. You could go into a popular thread and find the most upvoted comments to be high brow and interesting, and you'd generally find intelligent people contributing. It was extremely taboo to misspell words and you'd get downvoted for doing it no matter what the content. I think this culture was a product of the average intelligence of the community. Misspelling words was irritating to most persons who were contributing.
Now I'm finding that discussion devolves into internet memes, platitudes, and inaccuracies that I don't even have time, interest or energy to give a shit disputing or engaging. I once came to Reddit to escape average intelligence, and now that seems to be all I find or less.
Also puns have always been a part of Reddit so I can't really complain about them but they've never scratched any itches for me. Don't understand their appeal.
And in keeping with the rules of this subreddit, the reason I believe this opinion to be controversial is because it will be addressing the average Reddit user of the present day. Dunning-Kruger and all that.

I am a very big fan of the From Software games. (No I won't say Diablo is a Souls-like) I had always liked the feeling of Dark Souls, like lost in a world that is near the end, like a fading flame in a snowstorm.
I have heard that Diablo does have a very special feeling to itself too.
So I am 3 Hours in it and can say I love the feeling of this game.
I chose the Necromancer as a starting class, cuz I love the appeal of it and to be honest the other classes didn't looked so cool.
