This is exciting... While the Queens Theatre in London (home of Les Mis) undergoes renovations, a concert version of LES MIS will run for 16 weeks at another West End theatre, the Gielgud. Michael Ball (original Marius) is returning to the show, this time as Javert, alongside Alfie Boe as Valjean, Carrie Hope Fletcher as Fantine, and Matt Lucas as Thenardier. (Boe and Lucas previously played their roles in the 25th Anniversary concert and on the West End.)
Does anyone has a full boot of the FINDING NEVERLAND broadway with Alfie Boe ? would love to see it, thanks
Also, cheesier than a fromagerie on delivery day.
Okβso, I already posted this guy (classically trained, by the way) singing some Queen with Gary Barlow, and I would like to share two videos of him singing two completely different songs live....hereβs him covering hushabye mountain (https://youtu.be/9NlhRRcrZ70), a gentle lullaby from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and hereβs him covering Led Zeppelinβs Kashmir (https://youtu.be/rkSEnrIfxNw), a lively and rousing rock tune which is decidedly NOT gentle. Many of you, when I posted the Queen cover, mentioned that you thought his technique there was a bit too classical for the song in question...now that I have two songs, I would like to know your opinions on both of them....technique wise and whatnot. Also, what is vibrato and placement exactly? Just would like to know.
Hi guys
I am trying to improve my singing and stumbled upon this little clip of Alfie Boe explaining an exercise to Matt Lucas (for the 25th Anniversary of Les Mis).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZW7PU59oQmM
I want to try the exercise but someone in the comments said you need to watch out since this exercise might cause extra tension when you glottalise the vowels. Now, I'm kind of new to the more technical side of singing and I have no idea what he/she means but I don't want to risk doing it wrong.
Could someone perhaps elaborate on what glottalising means and how I could try this exercise with as little risk as possible?
Cheers!
So, have any of you guys heard of this classically trained opera/musical theatre/crossover singer Alfie Boe? Heβs amazing. He mainly does more classical/musical theatre stuffβbut he does love singing rock and pop songs in concert, and heβs a huge fan of Queen. Hereβs a link of him singing βDonβt Stop Me Nowβ with Gary Barlow: https://youtu.be/lAwPLeXblrw. What do you guys think of both of them? Anything else, like technique wise? Let me know below what you think!
