I love this album, but the rest of the albums by PIL sound pretty different. Can anyone recommend similar stuff?
I've loved Album since the late 80s. I was used to him in Frank Zappa's band & his Flex-Able album. I already liked Public Image Ltd. Steve's playing adds an even darker vibe to the music.
"Bill Laswell, the producer, called and I flew in and out of New York from Alcatrazz shows to cut the parts. I did basically all the guitar parts in two days. Bill Laswell took a very interesting approach to the production of this disc. Some of the material I'd never heard and just went in and started playing on it. At the end, Johnny Lydon came in and liked it. There was the consideration of putting a band together — him, myself, Bill Laswell on bass and Ginger Baker on drums. Would have been quite a band.” I went in a day and did everything, then I flew back out on tour. And then I went in for another half-day, and Lydon came in on the second day. He's just like ultracool and it's the first time he's heard any of my parts and he goes 'This is fucking great, man, how did you fucking know I wanted it like that?'. We were thinking about turning it into a band — me, him, Bill Laswell and Ginger Baker, but well, I was doing some other things, you know? It would have been cool. To this day that's one of the projects I'm most proud of.” “John Lydon came in when I was done, they were playing a track back, and he made a grimace and said 'Fookin' great man!' in that way of his. So that was funny. I'd obviously done okay."

Probably a dumb question but I am new to the pop scene
For those who Stan problematic artists (including me), how much impact can album have on an artists public image?
I’m a Justin Timberlake fan, and MOTW which wasn’t great, left a sour taste in people’s mouths and it’s been downhill ever since. His image has taken a lot of hits since. Now hypothetically - what would happen if Justin makes a futuresex/lovesounds esque album this year?
Also, have there ever been examples of artists bouncing back from heavy scrutiny purely through their music?

Kanye went from God's Country to Donda with Child to a potentially new untitled project. God's Country sounded like Yeezus with JIK influence. Donda with Child was supposed to center around abortion and his 2020 Vision, also Yandhi leftovers.
When's the last time you've seen Kanye wear the "Deeply loved North/Saint West" shirt? Or the last time Kanye tweet about abortion?? Kanye potentially has 2 movies...ANGELZ and DONDA WITH CHILD....Why is still going to Atlanta warehouse??
**Keep in mind, Kanye just started to talk about unfair contracts recently....He never mentioned this problem in all of the interviews he's done in 2020...I'm not talking about 2003-2019...I'm talking about this year.**
This new album will probably go in depth about contracts, freedom, god, ownership, etc....Bottom line, Kanye got inspired again. He may release JIK2 as his 10th album and get outta of his contract with UMG.....and release this new project under his independent label "YZY Sound".
