A list of puns related to "Al Walid II"
Title. It was going strong in the 2010βs but the work has stopped on the towers. I see trucks and cranes around.
They are still working on the ground level though. Idk any official updates?
I know he was an amazing commander, but i have have seen lots of people rank him amongst the ranks of Napoleon, Caesar and Alexander.
Was he really that great? From what i understand both the byzantine and sassanid empires where basically exhausted to a unbearable point when the arabs invaded. As they fought eachother in a devastating 26 year long war.
Also a lot of the commanders he faced made lots of mistakes which often cost them a win. And a lot of the early battles he fought was in desert enviroments where the arab forces had massive advantages.
So how amazing was he as a tactician and how does he compare to the other great commanders of history? I would love your take
Please forgive me if a botched the name. This person was told to me as an enemy of Islam who later converted and became a supporter of note, much like Saul with Catholicism. Can anyone point me to an English book about this! I really admit my weaknesses in terms of intelligence and sociological knowledge. Given this, can someone point me to a book that covers this topic using plain English, and that is interesting to someone as limited as I?
French president Emmanuel Macron on Twitter 09/16/21 at 00:46 am :
"Adnan Abou Walid al Sahraoui, leader of the terrorist group Islamic State in the Greater Sahara was neutralized by French forces. This is another major success in our fight against terrorist groups in the Sahel. The Nation is thinking this evening of all its heroes who died for France in the Sahel in the Serval and Barkhane operations, of the bereaved families, of all of its wounded. Their sacrifice is not in vain. With our African, European and American partners, we will continue this fight."
