A list of puns related to "Abdominal wall defect"
Can AFP be associated with abdominal wall defects? This card came up while I was working through Pathoma Ch3. Strange to see a few AFP cards with Pathoma Ch3 tags. If so, I imagine the card would be stronger if it specified "in the absence of neural tube defects."
Elevated Ξ±-fetoprotein (AFP) can be associated with {{c1::abdominal wall}} defects (ex. Omphalocele)

Hello all, I was recently diagnosed by a dr with a βsmall abdominal wall herniaβ all of this is new to me but he set me up with a surgeon but he said a lot of people have these and never get them fixed they just monitor them.. I guess I just have a couple questions I didnβt get to ask the dr.. should there always be a bump? Itβs on the right side of my stomach beside my bellybutton im 22/ 275lbs so itβs hard to notice standing but I can notice it by feeling it. Also is there anything I should avoid until I see a surgeon? (No definite date , still waiting on call) and last thing should I be worried about this?? I have crazy Heath anxiety about it and Iβm constantly scared every night itβs just gonna kill me. It never ever really hurts thereβs just a feelable bump and Iβm very aware of it being there consciously.. insight is appreciated thank you...
Hello everyone, Iβve been experiencing abdominal pain for close to 2 years. Iβve seen several doctors last year and been through ultrasound, endoscopy, MRI and CT scan but unfortunately, canβt find the cause of the pain...
Recently, i chanced upon an article on abdominal cutaneous nerve entrapment (ACNES) and the symptoms described is very much what Iβm experiencing. However, Iβm unable to find any doctors online in Singapore that treats this condition. I would greatly appreciate any doctor recommendations or sharing of ways on how to cope with the condition if you have any experience on this. Thank you in advance!
I have been a manlet all my life at 5-8. I have never been working out seriously, although I have been quite active in my teenage years. But this obviously it wont do a big difference if your bodyframe is weak (see poor bloke elliot rodger).
Nonetheless I am not visibly overweight at my current age of 31 years, tough I am what you may call "skinny fat".
Doctors usually poked my stomach area with humming and concluded that I am quite bloated. In fact I really look like a pregnant woman with all the narrow shoulders of mine, but now I have just learned that IBS indeed cause swollen innards that makes things even worse.
Once I was at the club with a buddy, and I met a girl that showed clear interest. She kept touching my abdominal area but not with disgust. Later on she told me that she thought that I was working out, hence the "hard stomach wall". Other girls noticed this too and showed me theirs being soft.
I have learned that I am very tense all the time and flexing the abdominal wall is not very good for the already stressed gut. Maybe this was all unconscious as I wanted to hide my bulging gut. That being said I have only 3-4 extra kilograms from my current 68 kg weight.
It took me only 10 years to discover that I constantly flex my abdominal wall. Please dont be like me.
I am a male, 25 years old, 120lb, 5β5
For the past 8 months Iβve been dealing with what I best can describe as a collapse on abdominal wall around the Arcuate line(about the bladder area). I say collapse because it sinks in a as indentation with certain movements and feels weak even when I contract muscles as if there isnβt lower abs present. Also my left side of the core has a protrusion as if it was my intestine pushing more force into that side of my body. I have seen the general doctor and GI. I got xray, ultrasound got blood, urine tests done. Results show thereβs no sign of hernia, tumor, kidney stones, present. He said Organs are healthy. He does not know what it is, says is a βrare conditionβ and to just live with it. Nothing else.
My hip have been giving me problems with a constant cracking and moving out of place which brings pain specially a lot of pressure on left groin area. Back pain from time to time. Left side or the rib cage I can see it is a little more push forward when I taken a deep breath and hold it. I was wondering if body misalignment could be a reason part to what Iβve been dealing with.
It sent me through a depressive state due to the difficulty to deal with the pain / discomfort and having to limit myself to do things that I was able to before. I for the most part have always been active and somewhat athletic. I stopped working out after my last appointment with the doctor because I felt like thereβs no one that can help me out. Recently I picked myself up and started Working out again. A solid month, but specially on my core I have to be really careful to control the amount of muscle contraction to not over exceed into sharp pain to present out of nowhere. I want to be able to find some hope and answer since the specialist I saw had no resolution for me.
Thank you for taking your time reading this, I would really appreciate a response or even to know if someone is going through the same and how you deal with it.
Has anyone experienced a spread internally? After a long night in the ER for suspected appendicitis they believe itβs crps that has spread to my abdominal wall, specifically on the right side. I do have an ovarian cyst but that doesnβt account for the amount of pain.
If you have this what helps?? Because even IV fentanyl in the ER didnβt.
I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar to my situation and, if so, anything to share about what you have gone through?
I have been having abdominal pain for 20 months now. It is so severe that it often wakes me up from sleep or prevents me from sleeping, sometimes days at a time. I have had ALL the medical tests, bloodwork, scans, etc. and they are all normal. This pain is crazy awful and doesn't seem to correlate with what I eat or don't eat. I also have NO other symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, bloating, etc. My ONLY symptom is PAIN.
The doctors have no idea where the source of this pain is or how to treat it. Another problem is that the pain does NOT respond to any pain medications or other medications. I even tried taking narcotics with NO effect. Perhaps I see a slight improvement with tramadol and anti-spasmodics. I have even tried antidepressants for pain and only experienced side effects with no pain relief.
I went to see a pain physician yesterday and he diagnosed me with chronic ABDOMINAL WALL PAIN. He says this is often an overlooked cause of chronic abdominal pain. He is going to perform trigger point injections next week to see if that will help and will also be diagnostic.
Anyone else have something like this happen to them? I am hopeful that I may be on the path to a diagnosis, but so scared that it will be another dead end. It would be so reassuring to hear from someone else that has gone through something similar.
After Eren's first victory, Reiner, Bertholt, and Annie decided that their mission was wrong and they couldn't continue it, but they know the situation for a defection being accepted are dire, so they decide to bide their time. Now their problem becomes how to get the military to not execute Reiner adn Bertholt for their crimes, and so Annie decides to go with the mission to capture Eren, only this time Annie takes great care to avoid killing the soldiers, just busting their ODM Gear instead in the forest. And the objective becomes after they succeed in defecting getting the Survey Corps to rescue their family, because that is a COLOSSAL motivation, particularly for Annie and Bertholt (heh). I assume the Beast Titan's arrival would be the biggest issue for them.
How would the Warriors go about succeeding if the other events begin playing out the same way.
My wife (23f) has been experiencing intermittent lower left abdominal pain for almost a year now. The pain comes and goes, but is usually present for weeks at a time, with days of high intensity spiking in the pain. It's hard to tell if the pain ever really goes away or is just drowned out by Fibromyalgia pain when it's not as intense.
We've consulted with three different doctors and haven't seen any resolution. In the first case. Labs were done on both blood and urine, and an abdominal CT scan and an ultrasound were both performed. All tests came back normal and healthy. The first time we were sent to a gynocologist for further examination. The gyn performed additional examination that gave no diagnoses of anything wrong.
The second case resulted in the same battery of tests with the same results. We left with a suggestion to see a gastroenterologist for a colonoscopy. Nothing was found there and no further suggestions were given except an offhand remark that it might just be muscular and to take pain medicine, along with a script for some opiates.
The third doctor was even less helpful and just said that sometimes we can't figure things out, take some pain medicine.
This pain has been so severe during spikes that my wife felt like she was dying, that an organ was failing, or a massive infection had to have been spreading inside her. The narcotics we were given didn't even really give more than an hour of relief.
The best direction we've gotten was the specific phrase Abdominal Wall Pain, which the doctor mentioned briefly before moving on. I've been left doing my own research trying to find something to gain some relief for my wife, and found this article from American Family Physician. The very first line in the abstract hits so strongly that I immediately felt like I was on to something
>Abdominal wall pain is often mistaken for intra-abdominal visceral pain, resulting in expensive and unnecessary laboratory tests, imaging studies, consultations, and invasive procedures. Those evaluations generally are nondiagnostic, and lingering pain can become frustrating to the patient and clinician.
I'm obviously not a doctor, so I can't understand everything, but just looking at table one in that paper shows 6.5/8 indicators for Abdominal Wall pain over Intra-Abdominal Visceral Pain, with the only differences being that no one has ever performed this Carnett test and the localized pain area is a
... keep reading on reddit β‘Does anyone else have pain in their abdominal wall and rib cage? Iβm thinking about going to the doctor about it but if itβs just a fibromyalgia thing then Iβd rather not. If youβve had it, what helps with relief?
For the last two months I've had a flare up of chest wall pain and silent reflux, currently taking acid blockers. The GERD subreddit suggested I post here as in currently getting a lot of what seems to be musculoskeletal pain around my ribs related to moving my arms, twisting or bending over, at the moment i keep re-injuring myself and it seems to correlate to my reflux so i'm trying to find how best to rest and recover as i can't seem to find any exercise or sleeping position that helps, I'm not sure at the moment if it is costo, intercostal muscle strain or soreness caused by the reflux itself.
Btw I'm getting checked out by a doctor, blood and organs are all fine, getting my digestive system checked out soon.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them? If so did you have an AMH blood test, and further surgery?
Hi all, I'm in the process of getting my date for my hysterectomy. My doctor feels that my uterus has adhered to my abdominal wall. The plan is to try and do the surgery laparoscopic, but there is a chance it won't work out like that. I've three sections. Has anyone had this issue? If so, how was the surgery and recovery? I'm going in on Thursday for an Ultra Sound and a Uterine biopsy. I'm just anxious to get this done and over with.
title says it. I am just confused as to what is wrong with me since all of my symptoms line up with this. they include:
- 5-10 days before period + other times of cycle: intense spasms in pelvic area, rectum, vagina, cause me to have to sit down for a few min
- intermittent pelvic and lower back cramps throughout cycle
- before bc: extremely heavy periods, clots as big as a silver dollar. cycles between 21-26 days.
- period: cramps causing nausea, diarrhea, lower back/hip spasms, pain radiates to legs, causes legs and feet to become numb/lose partial feeling, pain so severe I see white flashes in vision/black out, vomit- missed class/work more than once. lose my breath hurts so much
- chronic constipation
- gluten: feels like pelvis is ripping, can't stand up straight - never had an issue before, negative celiac endoscopy
- sex: horrible pain in pelvis , causes me to cry - not every single time. sharp, stabbing, ripping feeling. sometimes an intense ache
- pain below belly button during normal bowel movements: ripping ; heavy painful feeling in pelvis after urinating, can't stand up straight for a few min, hard to breathe fully. pelvic pain during urination
- flares of constant urge to urinate + pain/discomfort + no UTI
also in my surgery they found Β that my appendix is attached to my abdominal wall. has anyone had this and what did you end up doing about it, if anything? im at a loss about what to do at this point. the symptoms are too much.
