A list of puns related to "2020 ChinaβIndia skirmishes"
Or point to some website that has the same. I know that it is really hard to find completely objective sources on these but there must be some which are more reliable than the others. I am new to geopolitics and I don't have an idea of which sources are trustworthy.
Yemen Civil Conflict
Since 1962, Yemen has been in a precarious state, with generals looking to Egypt as a model to overthrow a monarchy and establish a modern republic. This, coupled with increasing protests on the street for reforms, meant the Kingdom of Yemen was a single ignition away from civil war. In the past month, Nasser inspired rebels led by Abdullah as-Sallal attempted a coup d'etat against Imam Muhammad al-Badr. The coup was prevented by well armed palace guards, but rebels have fled to the countryside and inner city to take up an insurgency against the throne. Civilian protests in the street continue, with the people demanding reforms, the resignation of the King, or even joining the UAR.
India-China Border Skirmishes
The Republic of India and the People's Republic of China have clashed in the Himalayas. The Skirmishes have resulted in China maintaining de facto control of Aksai China, but India maintaining control of North-East Frontier.
Portuguese Colonial War
The MPLA is ongoing in their insurgency in Angola against Portugal, though Portuguese efforts in managing the crisis has been relatively successful so far.
In Guinea-Bissau, the PAIGC have taken up arms against Portugal. The region is currently lightly defended by Portugal, giving the PAIGC free reign to attack radio stations, police stations, and any other strategic targets in the countryside. Rumours suggest they're being supported by neighbouring countries wanting to rid Africa of Portuguese influence for good.
In all the Portuguese colonies, public opinion is turning against the colonial overlords. Protests are becoming increasingly common with even some members of the Parlamento Nacional e Ultramarino calling for more devolved powers to the colonies.
Ogaden Insurgency
In Ethiopia, Somali's from the Ogaden province have demanded independence or at least devolved powers from the Ethiopian Emperor. They number some 3'000 and have launched an insurgency campaign to keep Ethiopian oppressors out.
Putting aside the political, and a large part of the diplomatic perspective, did anything go wrong from the military aspect and could it have been prevented? What about territory loss and comparative border infrastructure?
I know that a large portion of the conflict starts and ends with the diplomats and is severely influenced by diplomatic factors, but I would like opinions from a military perspective.
