A list of puns related to "1848"
I have left the Discord server and even though I am gone from there I will continue to make mods and post them here. In fact, 1848 is almost done and all of it will be out in a few days. As for my other projects, I will also continue on them (although 1800 may be hard since most works was on discord). Being off of discord will make modding harder for me but it's ok since the server has become far too toxic and not fun anymore. I've been thinking about leaving since my amount of messages has gone down a lot recently since the fun has been taken out of the server. I miss the old leadership we had and I'm sad to say that the server is going downhill and isn't a nice place anymore. I joined and was a nobody but I immediately grew to like fellow modders and admins on there who helped me grow as a modder. Floptop, hut, CTA, Original Name, and Angry Gandhi have been the most helpful and are great. I'd also like to thank Tex for creating the first two mods ever and helping create the whole modding community. And even though I have my disagreements with the creator of the new site, I'd like to thank him for creating it and constantly making it better over time. Your leadership on the server hasn't been the best but I have great respect for you. In the beginning, I had a rocky start with my bad mods (1984 and 1908. I'm remaking them by the way), and also got into comment arguments with people here on Reddit but out of nowhere on the server, I became Admin and had a lot of good laughs and have seen lots of growth on the server until recently. Anyways 1848 is coming soon and will probably be my best-written mod and the hardest one to code.
The Election season of 1848 is characterised by a strong incumbent, a recovering economy, the rise of a third party, and a movement to give voting rights to former slaves, this has thus lead to an interesting election season.
Vice President Taylor, runs on a moderate platform of low tariffs, upholding the 13th and 14th Ammendments, low tariffs, the maintainance of an Independent Treasury, and limiting the implementation of the National Federalist "America System", they also push to support the manhunt of the "Knights of the Confederacy" and their leader Nathan Bedfort Forrest who was the man who killed Henry Clay
Governor Dallas is a Van Buren Republican Unionist, so he supports the full abolition of slavery, low tariffs, and indepedent treasury, and he also supports the expansion of statehood in the territories, which will go smoother now that slavery isn't that much of an issue.
Governor Kearny is the current governor of the most western state in the Union that being the state of Shasta (Northern California), he has affirmed high tariffs, and the American Economic System, which has led to the state a good push to begin economic development, he has proposed to continue the Federalist economic system and also pushed for the full abolition of slavery as soon as possible, while unknown by many he has made overturns with the more radical figures in the movement like John P. Hale and John C Freemont (whom which he served during the Civil War and Freemont himself is the National Federalist Senator in Shasta) his entrance to the presidency may see an advancement, though that much is speculation.
New York Governor Thurlow Weed

The main battle is of who will take the Vice Presidential mantel, so far 3 choices have emerged
Michigan Senator Lewis Cass has been an odd one, he supported "popular sovereginty" which would have allowed slavery's expansion in the territories if the people voted for it, he also constantly clashed with President Van Buren in policy, choosing him would alienate many members of Van Buren's faction and may loss New York, but he would bring the vote in the Western regions and would secure Michigan in the election.
Pensylvania Governor George Dallas
Dallas is a more solid Van Buren supporter of the bunch, he served as his ambassador to Mexico, and was considered for the position of Secretary of State, chosing him may be able to put Taylor ahead in both New York and Pennsylvania though his support of Van Buren's actions against the Southern Elite may make for a more competitive South.
Alabama Senator William R. King
King in all words is a moderate, in the slavery issue, in the sectional issue, while this would mean that he wouldn't improve their chances anywhere, he also wouldn't ruing their chances anywhere, he is a safe moderate choice, though his moderation also makes hi mlook undecisive.
Would things like the 1871 war with France or the GroΓdeutschland idea of unification happen? Furthermore, how would things most likely change in the 20th century?
