A list of puns related to "Youtube Grocery Store"
How Dairy!
I said βwoah, Butter fingers!β
I was pushing my daughter in a stroller and The young girl he was working with snorted and said βat least youβre a dad, youβre allowed to make bad jokesβ
Proud moment.
I realized when I got home that I had picked 7 up.
Why YSK: For $6 I got a large bottle of sesame seeds. The tiny bottle of McCormick is almost $4. The quantity difference might be over 50x the seeds for an extra 2 dollars. They also support local people better than your regional chain.
I used an entire bottle of cumin and other Indian spices for 1 recipe of butter chicken totalling $10-$15 in spices. The Indian store near me sold near gallon sized bags of it for less than $10.
If you like to cook, buy from them and then transfer extras into old glass jars for safe keeping since they don't usually come in resealable bags. It's a great way to save some money and try new fun products.
Edit: by "foreign" I mean anything non chain related in any US city. I'd assume it's the same internationally but cannot confirm.
Edit 2: many people are referencing the "cutting" of spices at stores like that to make them cheaper, I don't know enough about it to give thoughts. There's tests for it out there, Google it for your own knowledge and safety.
Having shopped through Walmart the last 10 years of my adult life, I'm so used to getting low quality for that low price that it's like.......genuinely mind blowing to me that HEB's store brands are all, like, super quality stuff and stupid cheap. Like, cheaper than Walmart's brand versions AND better quality. How???
If this sounds like company shilling, I promise it's not, I'm just so emotional that I was able to move to a state with HEB :'^)
I told him how tacticool it was to meet him in person, but I didnβt want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, βTacticool? Did you really just say tacticool? Listen bud Coopβs content is a cesspool of low effort sludge intended to appease the lowest demographic of foam flingers in our hobbyβ I was taken aback, and all I could say was βHuh?β but he kept cutting me off and going βHeβs not a true hobbyist, Frank hasnβt modded in years. Heβs almost as disappointing as toruk whoβs slimy carapace heβs still annoyed I tore off, and the r/Nerf mods who are on the strangest power trip Iβve ever seen. The blind leading the blind as I say.β he rambled on while shaking violently. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him grunt as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen of those $5 Adventure Force blasters in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like βSir, you need to pay for those first.β At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the blasters and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually βto prevent any electrical infetterenceβ and then turned around and winked at me. I donβt even think thatβs a word. After she scanned each one and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by grunting loudly clearly still upset about coop toruk and the reddit mods
Title breaks it down. All of us in the house are vaccinated and have COVID-19. My two oldest sons (14 and 15) are in high school and work part time for different businesses.
My oldest son called his job and explained the situation, that he was positive and would be isolating for ten days. They were okay about it, but they made him responsible for finding coverage for the shifts he'd be missing due to quarantining. Whatever. It is what it is
When my 14-year-old son called his major grocery store chain job, he was told if he didn't have symptoms he still had to come to work even with the positive test result.
When our son told us this, my wife called and spoke with his manager, who didn't deny telling our son this but kind of side-stepped it when he said something like: "He didn't tell me both parents were sick, too. Yeah, I guess he can't come to work."
My wife read the manager our state's guidelines, which the clinic gave us after the positive test results, and the manager was a little snippy about it, agreeing with us in a passive aggressive sort of way, and then he abruptly ended the call, not without coldly saying to tell our son to "feel better soon."
WTF, he works weekends and he's a kid.
The PM Teeter is getting WAY too crowded lately. Hard to even find a parking spot going in the middle of a workday, let alone after work.
Food Lion is okay but selection on produce and quality meats is not great.
Publix in Cotswold is a hike.
And the Atlantic Farmers Market justβ¦stinks, literally when you walk in it smells bad.
I know weβll never get a Meijer or Wegmans bc real estate is too expensive but seeing how busy the Teeter is it seems like thereβs a good opportunity for another premium grocer in the hood.
So I went home again.
I know forced sounds extreme, but so is homelessness, starvation and near homelessness. America has a serious problem with waste, a large carbon foot-print and homelessness. Whole Foods for example, probably throws out 1000's of dollars of food a day. I just watched a video of a dumpster diver who pulled out enough foods for at least 50 people, and it was good.
Expiration dates are not exact, just guesstimations.
5 countries already have a law.
In 2016, the French government essentially banned food waste in grocery stores. Primarily in response to a spike in demand at food banks and other charities (spurred by an increase in unemployment and homelessness), France made it a law that grocery stores must donate edible food instead of throwing it out.

I won't accept any answers dealing with possibly making people sick from Salmonella and such. Clearly these other countries have ways to sort it out.
We have a store here where I am with near expiration date foods and there are services that sell it.
F these stores who profit on food that will almost go out of date. Geez, people will figure out ways to make a buck.
Edit: Thanks everyone for your feedback, I appreciate it. I canβt answer hundreds of replies, so Iβve received enough feedback and given out Delta points. Thanks for being so passionate about this subject. Thank you. I will not be answering anymore questions, as it would be too time consuming.
Today is my normal grocery shopping day and the stores are absolutely slammed. Was unable to get about 25% of the items on my list. Seems like logistical delays from the pandemic plus the storm from last weekend hasn't allowed the stores to catch up on stock. If you need something, I recommend going now, because it'll be slim pickins from tonight through the weekend.
Whats going on with local Grocery Stores in the area? Three different stores with bare shelves today. Doesnβt seem like one snow day should have messed that much with deliveriesβ¦
Just wanted to share a success story with people who understand!
The grocery store right around the corner from me is closing shop (because NYC real estate is really freaking strange right now) and everything was 30%-40% off. I got two huge backpacks full of food for only $17!
I feel bad because they're small and family-owned although their prices were always kinda off. I put all my frugality lessons to the test when I shopped there because bulk wasn't always the better deal and sales weren't always cheaper. Still feels bad to see a small business go...
I went to two grocery stores yesterday in Central Ontario and everything was stocked fine. Did not notice any bare shelves.
So how about the rest of you?
I realized when I got home that I had picked 7 up.
