I just bought Warrior within on PS2 and Iβve never played a Prince of persia game before, Will I be able to understand the story and can you start with warrior within?
Imagine the buzz the community would be in if we just booted up one day and saw this sandstorm. People would go nuts with hype and speculation.
I know I, personally, would be chomping at the bit until Thursday to find out what the hell this thing was, and I'd have high expectations. Is it Wu Lin related? Cataclysm 2? An invasion of some kind? I'd be full hype mode.
However, now that we can say with relative certainty that this is just a pretty dumb (imo) advertisement/"""crossover event""" for the Prince of Persia IP, just like For the Creed, people like me won't have their hopes up for something substantial or interesting happening just to end up with a playable advertisement.
Now we know it's an ad, we can temper our expectations. Thanks, leaks!
My cousin in law is the kind of person who canβt play DND without treating it like a single player RPG created just for him. He doesnβt dominate the game but he absolutely feels entitled to do something fucking stupid if it would make his character seem impressive.
He (heretofore referred to as Cil) had many fine adventures playing as a tiefling wizard named The Great Xerxes. Xerxes was Leroy Jenkins incarnate. His favorite move was fireball and it never, ever, ever didnβt bite him and the whole party in the ass.
(As an aperitif, before I joined, the group had a campaign infiltrating a castle. They almost get caught but someone got the bright idea to say they were a roaming troupe of merry fools! And everyone is rolling amazingly. The assassin juggles daggers and the thief pulls shit out of thin air. The castle guards get to Xerxes and ask what he can do. βThis!β He says. And sets them on fire.)
There were a lot of campaigns with different DMs and characters but The Great Xerxes always got rerolled.
Iβd played with him in the party for about a year and while Xerxes was irritating it never got unforgivably bad.
Until one night we are spun a tale by the DM of a castle or dungeon or something I donβt exactly remember for reasons that will become apparent.
We enter a corridor lined with doors. I use whatever spell it was that reveals how many enemies are in each room and what they are. The party agrees to clear the rooms one by one which is exciting because who doesnβt love a fight you have to keep other people from noticing?
I donβt know what the fuck Cil was thinking. Maybe he hadnβt been the center of attention for awhile. Maybe if people donβt yell βNO! WHY??β at him every half hour he has an existential crisis. Either way, amid our incredulous shouting, his character runs down the hallway yelling βBEHOLD XERXES THE GREATβ and setting shit on fire.
The enemies stream out from the rooms. And the DM couldnβt even fudge the numbers because my character had already helpfully identified everyone who was in the dungeon.
We were surrounded in short order. The cleric was tossing out hit points as quickly as he could while still defending himself. My revenant is trying desperately to freeze people where they are. We get split into two groups despite our best efforts.
Oh Iβm sorry, not two. Three.
The Great Xerxes, in his great wisdom and speed, was at the end of the corridor completely cut off from the party. And said party had unanimously decided:
... keep reading on reddit β‘It's a desert map setting. In a perfect world, this could lead to some cool new middle eastern based characters/faction down the road, but I digress. I just would love a desert level in this game above all else!
Hopefully I'm not "accidentally" repeating something brought up by thirty other people on this sub like everything else involving this event. Hopefully we get a megathread so we can get it all out of our system lol (:
I recently played the Prince of Persia 2008 game and had a great time with it, unfortunately, and was hoping to find a game primarily focused on parkour, especially the wall running
^(In addition to Prince of Persia, I also found Sonic Lost World to have) ^(so much) ^(potential to the point that it's really infuriating that it doesn't let you enjoy the parkour because there isn't much space to use it)
