Help! I canβt think of a name for my woodworking business.
Maybe this isnβt the right place to post this, so remove if necessary.
I have been trying to think of a decent name for the past 6 months and I canβt settle on anything. My last name is Wood, and so because of the funny coincidence there, I would really like to have some name that could incorporate the idea that I am Wood and I make wood.
Although, it doesnβt have to have anything to do with my name, I just thought it might be a good idea. Iβm open to anything you guys have.
Here are the only two names Iβve been able to come up with on my own:
Pure Wood
Peak Woodworking

Name my new Irish woodworking business?
I've decided to turn my hobby into a side hustle... Nothing too serious, just going to put a few pieces on Etsy - but I am really struggling to come up with a business name.
I'm based in southern Ireland, and make handcrafted wooden products like wood turned fruit bowls, chopping boards, vases, lamps etc etc.
I often use scrap, reclaimed wood, or bits from local trees that fall in storms. I go for character in my pieces above all else. Sometimes I incorporate some resin work in a piece too.
I'm a one man band - not a production line, and I want to emphasize in my branding that it's all unique, high quality, and 100% handmade.
I appreciate any suggestions you have!

Found Great Great Grandfather and Boston Artist woodworking chisels. Emilius Ciampa (1896-1996). So cool to see his name and doodles carved into the handles. Thought you all might enjoy.

Canβt remember the name of a woodworking YouTuber. Maybe someone can help?
I used to watch a woodworking YouTuber a couple of years ago. I donβt know if heβs still in the game though. The last videos I watched of his, he was talking about putting woodworking on hold because he was committing his time to the family business which was a pretty big farm. He had some content showing some big farming machines.
I remember being really impressed with his workshop. I think he had a ton of Festool gear. And I remember he had a popular office desk design I think that he was manufacturing.
I canβt really remember any more specifics though! I know; not a lot to go off of. But if anyone knows it by chance, you would save my sanity a bit!

Hello, my name is andrewordrewordont, and I have a woodworking confession.
This week I assembled a flat-pack bookshelf from West Elm which cost about as much as a sawstop crosscut sled.
It's been a hard week. Thanks for the free coffee.

Name for a woodworking business
Looking to help my brother name his woodworking business.
He makes tables, benches, shelving, and has recently got into some other cool things like wood and resin lamps and whittling kitchen utensils.
He wants his company name to be sort of dedicated to our grandfather who passed away. We called him Deda (Croatian for grandpa). But he also had some funny thing he liked to say like βGood for nothingβ and βDodo birdβ. Alternately something to do with fishing would also be fitting.
All suggestions appreciated. Thank you!!

I am tired of seeing all these top notch "first time woodworking" projects. Here is my first project from shop class in 1996. Hand tools only. This is before WWF had to change its name to WWE.

[Woodworking] "Original" creator of the River Table trademarks the name "River" for furniture. Community freaks out.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BoQSjU6l-hi/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
Greg Klassen has trademarked the word "River" in regards to furniture design. Since then, the woodworking community online has lost it's collective shit over the entire thing. A river table is that thing where you turn the live edges of a slab inward toward each other and put either glass or epoxy in the space between so it looks like.... a river. They are EVERYwhere nowadays.
Many of the passionate comments are from people who don't understand trademark law at all, and have made it VERY clear that they will "build whatever they want." Even though they can already do that.
The most reasonable argument against his actions, however, are by companies who have been making the same or similar designs since well before he was.
Oliver Beckert in 2004: https://www.apartmenttherapy.com/travelland-river-table-877
klassen in 2014: https://dirt.asla.org/2014/07/11/edge-furniture/
others have claimed to have made them earlier as well, i just dont have links to those claims.
Either way, the drama is just peaking now it seems. Klassen had to shut off comments on his social media due to a flood of nasty remarks streaming in from hobbyists and professionals alike.
Of course this is really silly because river tables are beyond played out anyway.

Help us name our women owned woodworking business!
My partner and I just relocated to a new state over the summer and weβre finally getting our furniture making business set up here. We were operating under the name in my username but we want to change things because weβre adding some other aspects to our business here and want to use a name that better reflects these aspects. I (Monica) am the furniture maker/wood worker. Jessy, my partner also does some woodworking and handles the business end of things. Weβre a queer female owned business. We make fine furniture, cabinetry and other household items (mirrors, bowls, spoons, serving trays etc.) for homes as well as businesses. The thing we are added to our business here is: we are going to be offering classes and workshops geared specifically toward women/queer people/anyone who doesnβt feel comfortable in traditional woodworking settings that tend to be very masculine and not always friendly toward women. Iβm not saying that is always the case, but as a woman Iβve experienced a surprising amount of sexism in this industry and we just want to create a space for people to learn where they can feel comfortable and accepted. Weβre wanting to name the business here: (blank) studio/s, so it can encompass all of the aspects of our business, but weβre having trouble finding a name that we like. Weβre open to any suggestions, including names without the word studio. We would love to have a name that kind of speaks to our mission of making woodworking more inclusive toward women and more accessible to and accepting of everyone. Thank you for any suggestions and I apologize for the very long description!

What was the name of the woodworking tool company Nick Offerman always raves over?
Itβs a smaller business that makes quality hand tools like really nice planes the way they used to 100 years ago. Iβve seen him mention it multiple places but definitely in his book βGood Clean Funβ lol I got the audiobook which is great, but the >40 chapters are all unlabeled and I canβt find it.
