A list of puns related to "Wheelock"
Which one do you prefer, and what model?! My pick is both Wheelock and system sensor. This is because system sensors devices are pretty good quality, while Wheelock experiments with the newer technologies! What is the best cheap fire alarm I should get next btw? I have a classic, and an NS. Gonna glue the side of my Spectralert, so I can restick the adhesive. There was a wire I tried to get out, but ended up losing some of the side adhesive, and warped a little bit of plastic. I have a good glue called b-7000. Used it for my phone, so I think this should do the trick!!
System Sensor vs Wheelock. Why is Simplex still here? So far, I'm with system sensor!!!!! Probably a lot of advance fans here too. That alarm is a little boring, but it is super loud!!!! I wonder what the volume of that compares to since I've only heard that across my school.
Is this normal????
What are your thoughts on Wheelocks Latin as a resource for learning ( or relearning) Latin?
At what point can one say one is βfluentβ in Latin?
I am asking readers what they think of this book as a textbook for beginning adult learners? I have a friend who really wants to learn Latin as an adult. I could recommend this book to him, because it worked wonderfully for me. I got great satisfaction from the book, but my major was in foreign languages and I was used to grammar.
However, the book is fairly grammar-heavy, and my friend's major is engineering, and he would prefer something slower-paced. What do you recommend?
I'm studying Latin primarily for translation. I understand that the latina lingua is the most efficient for learning the language, but if I need to make accurate translations for exams is Wheelock better?
"A planet doesn't explode of itself," said drily
The Martian astronomer, gazing off into the airβ

Intelligent beings must have been living there."
Hi all! I've tried several times to teach myself Latin on my own. I want to try again but with a buddy this time. Is anyone interested in going through ~1 chapter of Wheelock's a week? I'd be looking for someone as an accountability partner as well as someone just to chat with about our interest in Latin.
It's me again. I am using Wheelock's Latin, absolutely loving it. It's so rewarding to see even these simple sentences translated. So I'd like to see if I got the following correct. Some of these I found difficult. I'll tell you which when I write them here:
FΔ«lium nautae RΕmΔnΔ« in agrΔ«s vidΔmus I translated: they see the sailor's son in the Roman field. This one I found difficult, I'm not fully confident on this one.
Salientiam amΔ«cΔrum, Ε filia mea, semper laudat. I translated: the wisdom of friends, oh my son, he always praises (it). I'm quite confident on this one
SΔ« Δ«ra valet, Ε mΔ« fΔ«lΔ« saepe errΔmus et poenΔs damus. I translated: if you're strongly angry, oh my men, we often make mistakes and give punishment. Quite confident.
Any other kind of feedback besides right and wrong is always welcome. Thank you guys appreciate the help.
A couple of years ago I bought Henle's "First Year Latin" (plus answer key and grammar workbook) and "Lingua Latina: Per Se Illustrata" by Γrberg. I already had an edition of Wheelocks as well as its "Latin Reader". I started out studying LLPSI and was enjoying it, getting a few chapters in before getting sidetracked. (I obviously have a problem staying on-target!) I also have a copy of Γrberg's CD of him reading LLPSI, which is really cool.
If I wanted to pick this up again, basically starting at the beginning as a novice, which of these resources am I better served with? I'm leaning towards LLPSI, but is it worth fitting in the Henle material somehow? And if so, how would I do that? I'm probably not interested in Wheelocks; just mentioning that I have it. I'd just hate to basically waste the Henle books that I have, since they seem excellent.
The workbook doesnβt come with an answer key, and going online I can only find the answer key for the main book, or itβs behind a paywall. Any ideas?
I'm converting some Perry Minatures Foot Knights for a system agnostic, low fantasy army- and I want them to have pistols and long arms (ideally blackpowder). I had a few weapons from the Perry European Mercenaries left over but now I've run out. anyone know of any 28mm blackpowder sprues, upgrade kits, sites apart from Bitz Box? Sorry for the boring question haha

Any feedback is appreciated. In Wheelock's Latin this is the first part where cases is demonstrated with female adjectives and nouns. Although I am familiar of cases and what they mean, this particular exercise threw me off, I was puzzled.
How was the experience?
I just bought the 7th Edition of Wheelocks Latin for $1.49. Did I get a steal or ripped off.
I think it was a steal.
