Ich muss mir mal kurz meinen Unmut zum Thema WebID am Handy aussprechen.
Ist jedem der Service WebID ein Begriff? Falls man sich in der Internetwüste Deutschland schnell legitimieren will, ist das der way to go. Per Videochat kontrolliert ein Angestellter von WebID die Echtheit meiner Person. Oder eben Post Ident. Letzteres dauert (theoretisch) nur mehrere Tage länger.
So, wo fang ich an? Meine erste Erfahrung, Anfang des Jahres. Ein Depot eröffnet, Legitimation per WebID.
Was soll schon schief gehen? Erste Wartezeit, 10min. Der Herr nimmt mein Anruf an, grüßt kurz, sagt das ich nicht Chrome verwenden soll, und wirft mich aus dem Chat.
Ich also extra nen anderen Browser geladen, die ganze Prozedur noch mal bei gestartet.
Da hatte ich nach mehreren Minuten ne Dame an der Strippe. Kein Wort Deutsch, was erstmal nicht hinderlich zu sein scheint, dann nur die Aussage "App" und aufgelegt.
Also dann mit den Infos die App geladen.... Und nach weiteren 20min Lebenszeit die ich nie mehr wieder bekomme hat es dann endlich geklappt.
Puh. Heute leider wieder. Kontowechsel steht an (wer zahlt schon gerne Gebühren, pff) und beim bestätigen meiner Daten kommt der Flashback: WebID.
Ich habe schon innerlich hochgewürgt, als ich durch meine neue Banking App auf den WebID Service weiter geleitet wurde.
Super, Service gestartet und siehe da, 5min Wartezeit? Ja ist es denn.... Ne, der Timer springt nach oben. 9minuten.
Egal, gewartet und da hab ich den ersten Herren an der Strippe. Er grüßt, ich grüße, er schaut aus seinem Bildschirm, und ich war ausgeloggt. Vielleicht hat er sich verklickt?
Nächste Runde. Wieder 10mim gewartet, diesmal eine Nette Dame die mich scheinbar auch hören und sehen kann! Ja ist es denn die Möglichkeit? Und ZACK, wurde ich rausgeworfen. GRUND? WEIL DIE VER*ICKTE BANKING APP EINEN TIMER HAT WANN MAN SICH WIEDER VERIFIZIEREN MUSS WENN MANN KEINE EINGABE TÄTIGT! WAS ZUM *ICK?
Grrr... Das beste daran? Während man in dem Verifizierungsmenu von WebID auf jemanden wartet, kann man NICHTS MACHEN
BILDSCHIRM ANTATSCHEN? BLITZ DRÜCKEN? KAMERA WECHSELN?
BRINGT ALLES NICHTS
Was ein Dreck. Da kann man wohl echt lieber beim Post Ident verfahren bleiben.

I have a document library that i would like to change the name of but am worried that it will change the webID. webID is needed for onedrive sync and i would like to not break everyones sync in the org.
I've successfully mapped a SharePoint site's documents as an Intune device PowerShell script. My personal account had access to that site so I was able to hit Sync and get the information there.
I'm the Office 365 Global Admin, but my regular account doesn't have permission to access all SharePoint sites - how can I get the siteId, webId, webUrl, and listed for all sites without temporarily giving myself permissions to those sites as an end user? Surely there must be a way to access this information as a Global Admin.
Do we get to keep our usernames after the official version is released ?

I'm not sure if I'm understanding how WebIDs are supposed to be used properly, but as far as I can tell, it's just a pointer to a web server holding your profile data. Does this mean that your identity, how anyone on solid communicates you, is dependent on what host you choose to put your WebID on and locks you into that server unless you want to change your identity? And if that's the case, what if you don't want to do that but you don't have the resources to host your own permanent WebID server.
Is there any means or plans to be able to use some sort of distributed system, like Jami's OpenDHT or something similar so that you can maintain complete control of your ID as long as you keep you cryptographic secrets.

I am looking to get back into Kaios Developement, but I currently do not have an x86 machine for running webide.
Does anyone have access to a WebIDE capable program built for linux ARM?
Preferably in the form of an Appimage as my system doesn't have the ancient libraries required by eg Firefox 59.
Also if someone has a good alternative for WebIDE, let me know.
I tried Gdeploy and make-kaios-install, but the former doesn't want to connect and the latter relies on old libraries.
Also my laptop is too-low-powered for a virtual machine.
I have tried everything to get my device connected to the webIDE, i enabled debugging via the code and i have the bug icon appearing at the top, the phone shows up in "adb devices" and i have ran the "adb forward tcp:6000 localfilesystem:/data/local/debugger-socket" command and i still get an error when trying to connect to it "operation failed: connecting to remote runtime"
so far i have tried 3 different versions of firefox and 2 versions of palemoon and nothing works... I am on the latest update of kaios, any help please?
i want to sideload instagram.zip but this app successfull installed only with Omni SD. But my phone only support sideloading with webide. Is there any method to install instagram.zip with web ide ? i tried it but the play button is grey.
Hey everyone, I think I'm to dumb to configure the webterminal on gitlab.com to program in gitlab itself. Can somebody help me? If I start the web-terminal, it says Connection Failure. What should I do?
So we need to install Firefox 59 or earlier on our system to develop for KaiOS, right?
Surely no one wants to use an ancient browser version for their daily web usage, I guess? I'm looking for a way to install FF 59 for its WebIDE while keeping my up-to-date Firefox for surfing - on a Linux system.
These instructions suggest symlinking the FF 59 executable in /opt/ to the regular one in /usr/bin.... what? why?
How are you guys dealing with this? Is anyone else developing on Linux?
What we need would be an AppImage of FF 59, that would make things real easy-peasy

I've been following the methods that is listed in the KaiOS documentation of OS Env setup for the development of KaiOS apps.
After lots of try I got my phone's (Jio Phone F61f) 's debugging mode activated now the device is getting detected by my computer and lists when I run `add devices` .
But I get this error message when I try and select the target device for debugging.
it says
>The connected runtime has more recent build date (20181226) than your desktop Firefox (20171119) does. This is an unsupported setup and may cause Dev Tools to fail. Please update Firefox.
According to the message there's some mismatch in version in between my phones OS which is (KaiOS v2.5) and with the webIDE (Firefox highly build v59.0).
Is there any way I can connect KaiOS v2.5 and debug with WebIDE?

Ich habe mir gerade ein Konto bei Traderepublic angelegt bzw. war mittendrin. Dann bin ich aber darüber gestolpert, dass sie die Zugangsdaten für mein Onlinebanking haben wollen. Ist das korrekt oder habe ich das falsch verstanden? Ich halte das für ziemlich unseriös. Man weiß doch überhaupt nicht was die damit machen, denn auf ihre Seite können sie noch so viel zur DSGVO schreiben…
Wie seht ihr das?
Edit: Habe die iOS Version der App aus dem Store und mich per Ausweisfotos identifiziert. Im letzten Schritt soll man die Zugangsdaten eingeben.

Usage: IDE basically consists of 3 parts, a file manager, a multi tabbed terminal and a multi tabbed editor (opened from filemanager), Terminal is just like a ububtu terminal and basically provides access to any command that does not require root privileges, so you can develop any kind of application like rust based application and compile with cargo in terminal. There is also a portforwarder so if you're developing something web based for eg a react application you can access development server of react at http://dcodeweb.herokuapp.com/portforward/XXX/ where XXX is port of development server

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Using an nginx reverse proxy to access my gitlab externally.
everything works correctly except webIDE.
on the net there are some posts that talk about it but they have not been able to understand how to solve the problem.
