A list of puns related to "Viking Press"
New to Viking Press. Im wondering how the weight is added together? If i press 4 plates is it only 180 or is the bar weight included? Thanks for the help.
Bought Robert Greene's new book and it was supposed to be a signed copy. As I said, the book itself isn't signed but there's a card inside with a sticky back that has the signature. It's legit, I trust the seller and you can see the pen marks on the card.
Is this just a covid thing? I haven't seen anything like this before and I used to work for book sellers in the past but have been out of the game for a while. I'm also wondering if I should just keep the signature separate and do something else with it as opposed to sticking it in the book.
Im not really disappointed, it's just an odd thing and wanted to see what people thought.
I have noticed that no one does the Viking Push Press. It is not ever referenced on StrongFirst (or Dragondoor).
Does anyone know why it fell out of favor?
Edit: The Viking push press, is basically a push press, except you rest at the top. The rep starts by lowering the bell down to rack, bending your knees to catch it, and then pushing up immediately.

***This refers to 13 positive cases detected in surveillance testing of mariners who arrived in Wellington on the Viking Bay vessel on 12 July 2021.
This morning, the Ministry of Health reported confirmation of an additional 13 positive tests to COVID-19 for crew from the quarantined fishing vessel Viking Bay.
Two crew had previously been reported as confirmed with the virus.
All 15 affected crew have now been transferred to an onshore quarantine facility in Wellington.
Five crew members remaining on board to maintain the safety of the vessel have returned negative test results to date. They will be subject to additional testing in coming days.
The All of Government response team advise that Maritime Safety provided a dispensation to the vessel to have only five crew on board to meet minimum safety requirements. Contingency planning is underway for any further changes in crew numbers.

... keep reading on reddit β‘I am looking for insight/recommendations for a drill press (located in Canada).
I have looked at the nova products and while impressive, I am concerned in part about their longevity (I have not found many posts online about them after long-term use) and the price (Voyager being a bit of a budget stretch). The reviews I have seen have been positive though.
This has led me to consider buying a older Buffalo 15/17 or Rockwell/Delta drill press for a couple hundred dollars and putting in some effort to restore it as well as put a VFD on it down the line. I am curious however how this (VFD older drill press) compares to the nova voyager/viking, since I have not found much on this subject. This is the option I am slightly leaning towards, but I dislike adding another project to the (ever growing) pile (i.e. restoring it). There are also concerns of replacement parts if needed.
My main use will be woodworking, with some metalworking thrown in. For the latter, I will be using annular cutters from time to time for <3/8" steel. Need a minimum of 3" of quill travel; would prefer 4"+.
I have also looked at other drill presses (e.g. King Canada), but they don't really wow me; would rather spend the extra couple hundred and grab a drill press with electronic control if I am buying new.
Any comments/suggestions are appreciated.
As of now, the list of candidates consists of:
- Kyle O'Brien, Lions VP of player personnel
- Lance Newark, Lions director of player personnel
- Rob Lohman, Lions director of pro scouting
- Louis Riddick, ESPN analyst
- Thomas Dimitroff, former Falcons GM
- Scott Pioli, former Chiefs GM
- Rick Smith, former Texans GM
- Terry Fontenot, Saints VP/assistant GM
- Brad Holmes, Rams director of college scouting
- George Paton, Vikings assistant GM
- Jeff Ireland, Saints assistant GM
The Lions possibly have more interview requests, though no others have come out yet (but they are rumored to be interested in Seattle GM John Schneider). Rod Wood said in his press conference that the Lions are not likely to put in more requests than they already have.
Let's assume this list is the final list of GM candidate, what would be your favorite candidate and why?
