A list of puns related to "Variator"
Just got this moped a few days ago and am obviously looking for more speed does about 25-27 on flat. After some research I found out that the bx31 belt will add some top end speed but kill the low end so to remedy that I want to remove half the variator weights but am wondering how hard or involved that process is any insight would be appreciated
I have a 2006 Honda metropolitan (50cc) for college that has been a bit lousy so I figured to change the variator weights. Stock rollers are 7.5 g and I switched to 6.5 slider rollers. The new weights give me stronger mid range acceleration (5-25mph) but from 25-33 it is lousy (out of power band?) and higher rpm then I have heard previously. Above 33 it seems to switch into an overdrive gear (never felt this before) and gained 5-6 mph from my previous top speed of 38. I am pretty much always driving around 25-30 mph when the engine is screaming and I donβt want to stress the engine so I am wondering if I go up in weight to maybe a 7 (get overdrive sooner?) or down to a 6 (thinking it would cause a delay in the over drive activation to maybe 36-37mph?). Not totally sure how that would work if someone could clarify.
Hello, I recently encountered an issue with my Ruck. I installed the polini variator with the weights that came with it(5,6), and I tested it, ran well, then put the cover on and gave it a go and the scooter went into limp mode after max load pretty much(8700 rpm). It ran like shit and was stuck at about 1080 rpm, (usual idle is 2030-50) for me. I went to observe and it seemed as if the variator was stuck open a little bit, causing it to obviously not provide a sufficient ramp for acceleration. Tried the 6,9 weights, same issue. However, after doing about 100 miles with the cvt cover off, I have no such issues. Same amount of throttle and everything with the cover off, and I don't encounter that problem. Any help or insight is appreciated.
Does this work for a peugeot vivacity 3 ? Saw that it added like 5 mph? Saw that it can also hurt performance idk if it applies to all peds.
Who's ready for some awful Doctor's Without Borders name variation puns and hailing of Lord Demon Chocobo?
So I've got an 87 Elite 50 S which should be totally unrestricted. I just put a malossi 72cc BBK and head on as well as polini variator, malossi Yellow Contra and ncy 1500 rpm springs. For some reason it will only run till about 36mph no faster. When it was totally stock it did about 42mph. I've tried lighter and heavier weights but still won't variate completely. Any ideas? Oh I'm running the malossi Kevlar belt..
So i picked up a polini variator a few months ago for my 87 elite 50, but im selling that bike. So my plan is to use any of the performance parts i can on from the 87' on my new '99 elite 50. So far as i can tell the only thing that would require actual modification on the variator would be the ramp plate, specifically the crankshaft hole. That would require me to bore out the existing hole a bit, which is easy. Everything else seems like it could be used with no issues. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is there any reason this wouldnt work or isnt recommended? Am i not thinking of some aspect ?
New to me 09 Ruckus is on the slow side, barely reaching 30MPH.
Took off the CVT cover to inspect and learn about the variator and sliders.
After putting it all back together Iβm now only hitting 25mph.
What could have caused this? I made sure the sliders were in correct orientation. I turned the engine on without the cover and could see the belt barely passing 2/3 of the variator ramp. Is the belt pinched?
Hello all! 1977 Mobylette 50v the pedals will not clear the variator and grinds on it when starting. I cringe everytime I have to start it so I purchased new crank arms and I still have the same problem! Do I need different crank arms or is there a different problem that is more common?
So I changed out my stock variator with a racing one and changed the stock 14g sliders to 3x 11g and 3x 13g and boy, what a difference! Before when I'd hit 50 my motor was screaming and now I can hit 60 and it's as quiet as a mouse.
All I have left to do is change out the clutch for a performance one. The bore kit and performance cam shaft I want I'd have to take to a scooter shop for.
