A few days ago, I entered a server full of Christians via discord. I treated them normally and politely, but as soon as they found out that I was an atheist, they started attacking me with biblical quotes and insults. I argued with them for a long time and asked if they had ever read big bang and evolution theory. the replies said they didn't read that kind of stuff because science is satanic and they are not allowed to read satanic propaganda.
According to them, all beliefs, including democracy and atheism, except Christianity, are the ideas of the devil, and those who follow these ideas worship the devil whether they know it or not.
apparently according to the bible (I don't know what kind of bible) Human questioning and self-determination is deadly and inexcusable sin.
that is, they think that everyone but themselves is part of the devil's army.
one of them seriously asked why I believe in radiation if I don't believe in god! Frankly, even this single question made me tired and angry.
( How does she not know that radiation has dozens of effects?)

- Cainhurst nobles are descended from Pthumeru, a faction that split off after the establishment of a monarchy where the majority chose to follow Yharnam
- ashen blood is a long dormant virus (Ailing Loran) that can mutate the host and was reintroduced to the masses via Byrgenwerth experimentation
- ashen blood spread via contamination of Yharnam’s water supply which must originate in the forbidden woods
- the initial failures and perhaps the Hamlet massacre led to a schism in Byrgenwerth with one school of thought focusing on the blood and the other on eldritch insight. Laurence was frustrated and was looking for another option to create a child of blood to beckon the moon presence after the debacle with Yharnam and Mergo
- enter Cainhurst and Annalise (foremother of Arianna, a true surrogate) and the slaughter of her family to cover up Laurence’s missteps

- I think the summons from Cainhurst is a tell to the PC that there was in fact a connection between Cainhurst and a Yharnamite(s) from the time of the First Hunters when Laurence was alive

The identity of that scholar was hidden from him - i don’t think he could speak as highly of the Healing Church if he knew the founder had ulterior motives
- that scholar has to be Laurence and the summons could have been one of many left to him by Annalise/nobles as he traveled in secrecy via the forbidden woods to confer with them
- the woods were familiar to him bc that’s where the initial byrgenwerth experiments were performed which led to its eventual contamination and infection of Yharnam - ashen blood. Laurence needed a cure fast; he just knew the answers were in the blood and knew Willems pursuits no longer aligned with his own
- to Willem, ashen blood, the Hamlet, the murder of Kos, and the kidnapping and unintentional murder of Mergo were unfortunate but necessary atrocities committed in the name of evolution. Laurence was desperate to undo these mistakes AND find a viable way to commune w the great ones
- the Scourge began afflicting Yharnam after Mergos deaths and exodus of the Great Ones precipitated the Blood Moon, but the town coul
I don't get it. I was raised to eat animals, but I went vegan when I was 19 after I saw slaughterhouse footage. How do so many otherwise caring or smart people just never question animal consumption? I don't get how people can live their whole lives never questioning the practice. It's such an obvious form of violence and totally unnecessary.
