A list of puns related to "Traveling Dog"
My partner and I are doing a cross country vehicle trip this summer from July 1 through to the end of August and we are planning on staying in Regina for 5-6 nights. Neither of us have been. We'll have our 1 year old Aussie Shep with us. We both will be working remotely during our travels, and require wifi that is well enough to do video calls and do basic functions like email and google docs. Any recommendations? The more affordable, the better. Also, any recommendations to check out while we are there are welcome!
Hey guys, I posted this on the dog training sub but only got one answer and maybe you can help me out with my long haired girl and doxie mix.
Iβm moving and obviously Iβm taking my girls with me. I bought the carrier bags for the plane, they are already used to get in them, but today I had to say goodbye to a friend at the airport and took the opportunity to take them in the carriers to see how they would do, and they would not stop crying! They are used to staying in the carriers open, but at the airport I had to close them and if I opened just a bit they would try to jump out.
Iβm going to ask the vet if there is something I can give them to make them calmer, but I would still like some tips to help keep them calm during the flights. It doesnβt help that when one starts to cry, the other does as well.
Does anyone have any tips, did any training with their dogs? They are not crate trained (thatβs not something that is done in my country and the first time Iβve heard of it was here on reddit), at home they are pretty tame, only bark when thereβs a dog in the hallway or something. They donβt have much separation anxiety, only cry if I leave the house in a hurry without talking to them, otherwise they walk me to the door and go back to their beds when I leave.
thanks for any help!
I never travel because Iβd rather do road trips (I guess thatβs traveling) or stay home so I can be with my dogs. I have had really bad experiences with boarding places. I guess I trust some sitters but I havenβt found someone I trust yet. Can anyone shed some light on the inspection by SENASICA? Am I there throughout the whole process? How long does this take? Do they take the dog away from me?
According to the CDC, I only need a rabies vaccine certificate to come back to the states. But I donβt need anything going there unless airlines require a health certificate.
Edit to add. I donβt want to leave him behind for several weeks or months at a time. And if the vacation was less than a week, then Iβd rather just stay home and forgo the vacation because I donβt want to leave my dog in the care of someone else but Iβm not bringing him for a trip thatβs a week or less.
Hello r/ukraine! Has anyone here had to travel to Ukraine (from US) with a dog recently?
We are working with a pet transportation company and they say there is a requirement for a rabies antibody test that has 90 days waiting period before we can fly. Our dog has a current rabies vaccine that was done in 2020 and is valid until 2023.
This 90 days waiting period seems very weird to me - I was able to find a regulations about the test but there is no waiting period information there. Will appreciate any help.
So planning on moving states here at the end of the month. I have a dog reservation for him in the cargo, have a vet appt for the health certificate and all that. Just wondering if anyone has a suggested dog kennel that Alaska would accept? My dog is a 65lb labordoodle and I'm trying to figure out which one would be big enough for him but not too big where Alaska can't take it. Anything helps!
Iβll be making the trek in the next two weeks, I expect to be on the road for 6 weeks. Iβm planning on heading to blue hills parkway then making my way to Nashville. From Nashville I plan on taking I40 to San Fran, up to Portland, out through Wyoming and back to Boston.
Some goals are smoky mountains, hot springs in Arkansas, Grand Canyon, route 1, redwood forests, and some snowboarding along the way.
Iβll be camping out of my pickup truck with cap, insulate it a little bit and hopefully the dog will warm up the place (big Newfie).
Any tips, info, things I should note?
I'm traveling with my doggo to Lund, Sweden for my studies.
I haven't decided on the flight yet, but there are two options.
Option #1 is obviously easier and quicker. However, my final destination is Sweden and on the titer test report it says destination: SWEDEN.
The paperwork for EU travel is also from the Swedish board of agriculture. So would I be able to use the paperwork at Copenhagen airport? or do I have to fly to Sweden?
Hello! I hope you all are doing well :)
I'm looking for advice. I'm planning a trip from PHX to Mexico City, and am considering bringing my dog.
My dog is a 12lb Chihuahua mix and I have the appropriate carrier size according to AA guidelines.
I'm just not sure about traveling with my dog. I've read that people have been turned away at the gate and that's not helping anyone's confidence.
I called AA to understand what is needed to fly with my dog and they said a certificate of health and a copy of rabies vaccine.
I assume the certificate of health is to renter the US as Mexico has since waved this requirement for dogs entering Mexico from the US, per USDA website.
I'm just looking for any guidance at point.
Hi all - weβve come a long way in our journey with our reactive dog. Would just like to hear stories about how folks have traveled with their reactive dogs - mine is leash reactive with other dogs and stranger reactive with unknown tall men.
Any tips for airplanes, cars, hotels, etc.?
I have a large 86 lb labradoodle. He's 4 y/o and very well-behaved. I'm moving to Korea in Feb, and I CAN do all the traveling accommodations for him, but I am nervous about getting it all done. My school is already set with housing and quarantine with him, so there's no worry there. I'm more worried about the actual plane and him being in cargo. Are the pet traveling services that won't charge me 7k+ to help (which is the price every company so far has given me) or am I stuck sort of figuring it out all by myself? Thanks for any help or recs.
My husband and I are renting a 7 person RV for an upcoming trip. We are traveling with our kiddos ages 5, 5, & 6, and our two large dogs. Iβve never traveled in an RV before and have no clue what to expect or prepare for. My husband is driving, so Iβm not concerned about getting around in the RV. What I would like is any and all advice to help our trip go smoother. Also, what to pack outside of the normal packing items please. I purchased the βkitchen packβ that includes dishes and whatnot I may need in the kitchen and plan on bringing our own sheets, waterproof mattress pad covers, blankets, and pillows. Thanks in advance.
So far I'm on hold more than 2 hours. I booked a new flight online - but Im traveling with 2 minors and a dog in cabin. So I want to make sure we are together and the dog is OK.
I'm taking a dog several states away and I'd prefer not to drive. Does anyone have have experience with using planess trains, etc. With a dog? I'm trying to find the method that's least stressful for my dog.
How do you guys travel and take care of your dog? I know its got to be possible. Someway, somehow.
I would need an Uber around 5-5:15 AM (to be on the safe side). I have to take my small dog, but sheβs in a carrier. I would normally reserve an Uber car ahead of time, however the pet Uber is not an option. Uber pet only comes up for a trip at the moment.
Any advice appreciated. TIA.
Are there any airlines that let you travel with a small dog for no extra cost? I imagine not but any tips on thr matter?
hello! so i have to finish up some holiday shopping & i need to travel into the city. i would leave my 13 year old senior dog at home if i had roommates home all day, but no one will be home & she suffers from separation anxiety.
i plan on bringing the essentials, harness & leash, ESA & tag identification, a dog carrier, sweater, treats & a portable bowl for water.
her only ailments are a loose tooth, gets eye irritation (i have eye drops for her), and easily gets cold.
in a way i'm excited for this because she can experience a fun little trip with me. is there anything i should be aware of before i bring a small dog into a bustling city? is it a good idea, or is there anything else i should prepare for when i do bring her?
