A list of puns related to "Trash Humpers"
Any idea where I could get my hands on one of these? Or the 35mm film? I know these were extremely limited, but Iβd be willing to pay up there for either.
Mac and plac in the ang and chang puppet show is one of the funniest things I've ever seen, one of the greatest films I've ever seen
On Wikipedia's page for "Trash Humpers", it lists an alternate cut from 2010 that runs 19 minutes longer than the original. Does anyone have any info on this, or know where to find it? Thanks! (:
The baby at the end of the film really changed my perception of the meanings of this movie. Iβm not sure if Harmony intended this, but to me, most of the film before the ending could be what a baby absorbs from humans and the environment. To a baby, it wouldnβt be uncommon to hear repeated lullabies, confusing shrieks and sounds, seeing how adults over sexualize nearly everything. The plastic babies are drug by bikes while getting minimal attention with twisted lullabies while being thrust into adult situations. The babies are an after thought, kind of like a lot of 70s and 80s babies. Some parents are like these characters. The humping in this film doesnβt exactly portray sex, so to a baby, these repeated actions and sounds could make up a lot of its stimulations. Also, the masks may be a device Korine uses to make the viewer empathize with how uncomfortable babies might be when seeing people make funny faces at them. The movie was one big, weird question mark for me until that last scene which made me rethink how crazy I thought Harmony must have been while creating this. This film might just show how some babies can grow into the teens we see in Kids and Gummo. Just my thoughts, if theyβre wrong, oh well, Iβll probably still view it this way.
Thatβs all I gotta say about that
Itβs the only one I havenβt seen. I love giving myself over to Korine films, and let myself be taken away. However, Trash Humpers is intimidating. I love every other film though. Whats you guys thoughts and experiences with the film? Thanks!
Btw, Beach Bum is awesome and my favortite one after Gummo, Spring Breakers and Kids. Me and my friends are planning a trip to Key West just because of it.

Wow. Harmony Korine is way off-base here.
This film follows a group of geriatric malcontents as they wander about the neighborhood peeking in windows, fellating shrubs, breaking consumer electronic, and (yes) humping trash. The oldsters are played by Harmony and several of his friends, including his wife. They are wearing costumes that make them look more like orcs than old people. It has no conventional plot, but rather idly examines these people as they commit malfeasances. It is filmed on VHS tape, apparently held by one of the trash humpers. It was filmed guerilla-style, and the filmmakers actually slept under bridges and did the acts the film portrays. I truly feel sorry for the residents who had to tolerate this ghoulish film crew wandering about at night, simpering and squawking and grinding on the residents' garbage cans. I mean, gross.
In Gummo and Kids, I felt like Korine was shining a light on a part of society that is seldom exposed. Here, I think he is inventing his own bogeymen. Korine is probably the only director with the courage to make a movie like this, but still I wish he hadn't.
Harmony Korine, ranked:
Gummo
Kids
Julien Donkey-Boy
Trash Humpers
2/10
BT: No. There is only one female character.
