Traci Thirteen in Young Justice Season 3

I think Traci Thirteen or a magic based character should join the team. Mostly for Traci & Blue Beetle. I guess another magic based character that can join the team can be Raven. With Zatanna joining the Justice League the Young Justice team currently doesn't have a magic/sorcery character.

Character Deep Dive: Phantom Stranger

Phantom Stranger is a character defined by his lack of character, his lack of identity. But, he's been around long enough that we can introduce him in his many forms.

Comic Version: You can divide Phantom Strangers comic version into three distinct areas; the post Flashpoint version, the divine agent, and the true mystery.

The first, and earliest, is where he was a genuine mystery man. He filled a role similar to several other characters at the time, an occult detective who investigated paranormal phenomena. This was a common mystery man archetype, including the likes of Mark Merlin and Richard Occult. What made Phantom Stranger unique was that he wasn't exactly the viewpoint character, more commonly the viewpoint character was Terry Thirteen. Thirteen believed that every paranormal situation could be resolved through scientific results, much like Wally in Season One. And while most of the cases that the two investigated did indeed have a "phony" magic element that Terry was able to rationalise and explian, Stranger often cleaned up an element to the case which goes unexplained - having a more real occult element to it. Stranger himself, due to his strange disappearances and lack of identity, were a mystery for Thirteen and he often wanted to uncover his mystery.

As he received more books, the idea of him being a magical entity overrode that origin as a detective and mystery solver, becoming connected to the Presence as a guiding force. In Secret Origins from post-crisis, where there was an effort towards codifying the origins of the various characters, Phantom Stranger gave 4 different versions, ranging from being the Wandering Jew to Fallen Angel, to an Astronaut that witnessed the creation of the universe due to time travel. His origin was meant to be multiple choice, indefinite, but generally connecting Stranger to theological concepts. In this form, Stranger was considered one of the most powerful magical figures in the DC Universe, but he was more of an observer now. He showed up to watch important things happen, pretty rarely intervening, often being taken out of action when he should have been intervening (such as Day of Vengeance).

This continued essentially till Flashpoint, which gave a slight redesign; rather than an amulet and cloak clasps, Stranger now sported a necklace of silver coins and was very clearly presented as being the biblical Judas. He was to walk the Earth, fulfilling the actions desired by the Presence whi

New DRAGONLANCE trilogy from Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman confirmed for 2022-24

We've known it's been coming for a while, but not the final release date. DragonlanceΒ authors Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman have confirmed their new novel in the setting, their first addition to the saga for thirteen years, will be published on 9 August 2022. Dragons of DeceitΒ is the first volume of the Dragonlance Destinies TrilogyΒ and the first DragonlanceΒ novel of any kind since The Fate of ThorbardinΒ by Douglas Niles in 2010.

DragonlanceΒ is a setting for the Dungeons & DragonsΒ table top roleplaying game. The setting was originally launched in 1984 with a series of D&DΒ adventures and the first DragonlanceΒ novel, Dragons of Autumn Twilight. Unlike other D&DΒ settings such as GreyhawkΒ and the later Forgotten Realms, which were both designed around giving the players a worldΒ to have many adventures in, DragonlanceΒ focused on a single huge saga. It was effectively D&D's take on The Lord of the Rings, chronicling the adventures of a band of disparate heroes in their efforts to defeat the dark goddess Takhisis. TheΒ Dragonlance ChroniclesΒ and Dragonlances LegendsΒ trilogies sold more than four million copies before the decade was done, making them among the biggest-selling epic fantasy novels of that decade.

The DragonlanceΒ setting was fleshed out by many other authors and game designers, eventually encompassing 203 novels and dozens of game supplements. Weis & Hickman's novels in the setting eventually sold almost 35 million copies. Although the novels continued to sell very well, the game materials were more inconsistent in sales and drifted in and out of print. In 2003 Wizards of the Coast licensed the RPG setting to Margaret Weis's own RPG company, Sovereign Press, and Weis created a version of the setting compatible with D&DΒ 3rd Edition that sold well for many years. In 2008, after the release of the divisiveΒ D&DΒ 4th Edition, WotC terminated its contract with Sovereign and brought the game materials back in-house, but surprisingly decided to sit on them rather than use them for anything. There has been no official DragonlanceΒ material released since the last novel in 2010. In fact, the only D&D-branded fiction released since 2018 has been a series of Drizzt Do'Urden novels by R.A. Salvatore and nothing else, leaving an immense amount of money on the table given the massive p

What's Next? 2022

Hello all! We wish you good tidings, happy holidays, and a relaxing time for all. Thank you so much for your support through this last calendar year, it means so much to us all.

In 2021, we saw many notable events. This year saw the dramatic union of Barry Allen and Patty Spivot in The Flash, the slow assembly of the forces of evil in Justice Legion, the debut of the New Teen Titans, and the climactic finales to Coastguard, Night Force: Major Arcana and Starman.

Our March event - Beyond - and its many tie-ins saw the formation of a new group of time-travelling Legends assemble, introducing the likes of Terry McGinnis and Mari Grayson to our continuity.

In the 4-book crossover Kingside, former Robin Tim Drake donned the new moniker of Rook and fought alongside a myriad heroes to foil an international conspiracy. Then, after facing off against the frightening Justice Lords, a dark mirror of the fallen Justice League from across the multiverse, our heroes saw great highs, between Artemis' confrontation with the frightening new Cheetah in Wonder Women, John Constantine grappling with his demons in Hellblazer, and Traci Thirteen assembling a new magical fighting force in Shadowpact.

This year also saw the expansion of our Bat-Family line, with the debut of Stephanie Brown alongside Dick Grayson in Batman & Robin, Jason Todd going his own way and making new friends in Red Hood and the Outlaws, new heroes from humble beginnings in Bluebird and the Signal, culminating in the chaotic reunion of the family in our 6-book mega-crossover City of Shadows and the emergence of a new Batgirl in I Am Batgirl. Even elsewhere in the world, the Batman bug spreads as the Justice League of China form with a Super-Man, Wonder-Woman, and Bat-Man of their own.

In 2021, we've started a whopping 12 new ongoing series, with our c

Happy Halloween! In light of the holiday, it got me thinking. Which DC Characters Would Make A Fun And/Or Scary Horror Film?

As per the title and in light of the holiday, I was thinking of which DC characters could have a fun spooky Halloween movie (i.e. any typical Scooby Doo movie or animated Halloween special) and/or a genuinely terrifying and freighting horror film that would haunt viewers in its wake (any legit horror movie that scares the crap out of you)?

My picks:

Fun/Spooky Halloween movie: Deadman has such a fun personality that could sparkle in this kind of movie. Maybe have him team up with the likes of either Zatanna or Traci Thirteen to have someone to bounce off for the movie

Genuinely Terrifying Horror Film: Ragman’s power set just sounds terrifying that he would make for a great horror movie. (For those not in the know, his cloak has hundreds of souls of evildoers that Ragman has punished and absorbed. Just the visual/audio of millions of voices moaning into the void would be bone-chilling)

gaymike219905 says: "I have a soft spot for season 9 of RHOC for some reason, it's probably my most watched season. Shannon and Lizzie truly breathed new life into the franchise, without altering it to the point where it felt like a different show (see: RHOC15). Arguably, this is Tamra's worst season from a producer mastermind perspective. She clearly goes into the season aiming for a Heather takedown, because she knows her job and that it's inevitable. Uncharacteristiaclly, and due to Heather stubbornly refusing to let it happen, Tamra gets cold feet and has to change gears mid season. She fumbles a lot, and gets caught in multiple lies and/or talking behind peoples backs until by the end of the season, the guns are all pointing at her. But our girl is a fighter, and the way she handled it and then went into the reunion unapologetically (THATS MY OPINION), solidified her position as top tier housewife. This season is also notable for Vicki being able to take a backseat and come off as the good guy, a nice reprieve for her before she gets nailed to the cross for the next 5 seasons. Heather's mask finally slips as she battles with beloved newbie Shannon (YOU WILL ALL SEE THE TRUTH) and shows just how pretentious and obnoxious she can be. I go back and forth on Heather, but I'll always be indebted to her for kicking Shannon out of her house with an icy cold "We're doone....please leave." That scene is one of my most beloved and Heather plays the villain perfectly (and upon rewatch, I'm actually on her side!). Other notables: Lizzie definitely said she wanted to EFF Eddie, Tamra running away from everyone, The Email, the fight at Javiers over a CHAIR, and the ghost of Danielle hovering around each episode clinging to relevancy."

MagnificentMistral says: "this is a tale of a battle between good and evil. our fearless heroine, shannon beador, debuts and is immediately plagued by the evil witches tamra judge and heather dubrow. systematic bullying and gaslighting take place. our heroine’s only allies are vicki gunvalson and… uh… was anyone else there? A great watch."

Books with trans/nonbinary characters for every bingo square

Hello there!

This year, I'm doing a themed bingo square with trans or nonbinary characters in every book. As such, I've spent a lot of time (too much time) compiling books that fit for each square. I had originally intended to post this list after finishing my board with a write-up, but seeing as we are past halfway through the bingo year and I'm on track to finish pretty late, I’ve decided to put this up early so it can hopefully actually be helpful for people still looking to fill their boards.

Books are listed under each category they fit, but I didn’t always check for some of the harder ones (eg. first person, forest setting) if they fit something obvious (eg. published in 2021, cat squasher). Books are sourced from the recommendations thread, the focus thread, the queersff database, readsrainbow, various Goodreads lists, and various threads in other subreddits. Also, disclaimer, I haven't read all these, so categorizations may be inaccurate. Please let me know if you notice that this is the case, or if there are any books I should add or remove!

Without further ado, here's my list of 250+ books that qualify for the trans/NB character square plus at least one other square:

Five Short Stories

Behind the Sun, Above the Moon edited by Brooklyn Ray

Diana Comet and Other Improbable Stories by Sandra McDonald

Everyone on the Moon is Essential Personnel by Julian K Jarboe

Glitter + Ashes: Queer Tales of a World That Wouldn’t Die edited by Dave Ring

Homesick: Stories by Nino Cipri

Love After the End: An Anthology of Two-Spirit and Indigiqueer Speculative Fiction edited by Joshua Whitehead

Love: Beyond Body, Space, and Time edited by Hope Nicholson

Maiden, Mother, and Crone: Fantastical Trans Femmes edited by Gwen Benaway

Meanwhile, Elsewhere edited by Cat Fitzpatrick and Casey Plett

No Man of Woman Born by Ana Mardoll

Portland Diary: Short Stories 2016/2017 by Jamie Berrout

SERIOUS: This subreddit needs to understand what a "dad joke" really means.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Succesful Management: Agency and Much-Improved Fluency

Welcome to my latest post. I’ve been reading through the research on stuttering for almost a year now, and there’s a lot to be learned from it. It’s my goal to help the stuttering community by sharing it.

I use "near-fluency" in this title, because successful management is characterized by significantly-improved fluency. But it is not a complete cessation of stuttering. It is not a "cure." Fluency and speech naturalness are significantly improved, but it still requires effort and attention. There is only one study that I've found that shows evidence of adults (ages 16-22) making a full recovery from stuttering. (Like the way that children recover from stuttering.)

Feel free to skip to the "Sucessful Management" header if you want to get right to the research. If you're interested in learning more about the neuroscience behind all of this, check out some of my earlier posts.

If you're curious and would like to read more about successful management, I'd highly recommend reading these studies by Laura Plexico. (The top three results; click on the [PDF] on the right side to view the full papers.) This study by Andersen & Felsenfeld is also great, but the full version is behind a paywall.

Successful Management: Agency and Near-Fluency

There's a fantastic burrito shop in downtown Boston, run by a mother-daughter team. They are famous for their homemade molΓ© sauce and spicy black salsa. They're also incredibly kind people; the mother of the pair affectionately refers to each customer as "my dear."

I first discovered this restaurant when I landed a software job at a nearby tech start-up. Every Wednesday, the company would buy lunch for the software team, and it was up to the six of us to decide where to go. After my first molΓ© burrito, my vote always went to Villa Mexico.

Villa Mexico didn't use the online ordering apps, though, so whenever we chose it for lunch, someone from the team would have to call in the order. Our team lead would always ask "Alright, who wants to make the call?" and, like

Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.

THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB

Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"

I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual

So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes

NBA 2K22: MyTEAM Courtside Report (Dev Blog)

BANNER

Hello NBA 2K community! I am Jonathan Smith, producer at Visual Concepts, and it’s time to get you filled in on everything going into NBA 2K22’s MyTEAM! Whether you are a seasoned veteran in MyTEAM or someone looking to build their first dream team, there is something for every NBA 2K player in MyTEAM!

In a nutshell, there are many different foundational changes in MyTEAM this year that I personally cannot wait for you to experience. Card collectors, online competitors, casual NBA fans, everyone has a place in MyTEAM and we are just a few short days away from getting this amazing mode into your hands.

MyTEAM: DRAFT

Draft Colossal Pack

In case you missed the first announcements, MyTEAM: Draft is a new multiplayer mode where you pick a full lineup of Player Cards which will include the latest cards in MyTEAM. When starting a new Draft you will be presented with seven packs to choose your 13 players and coach. You will pick up two players from each of the position packs, but where the Draft will shine is with that first pack on the left. That is the Featured Pack.

What is the Featured Pack? This is where the latest releases in MyTEAM will show up for you to draft and compete with. Unlike the other packs, this Featured Pack will only contain three cards which are added to your drafted lineup. You can likely count on these players being the best players in your lineup to lead your drafted team to victory! Look for the Featured Pack to be updated with the latest player cards released in MyTEAM each Friday. The positional packs will also be updated as well, but don’t count on the previous Featured Pack players showing up in there immediately after cycling through.

But what are you competing for in MyTEAM: Draft? Every Draft will net you a guaranteed League Pack and at least a single pick on a Draft-exclusive Ascension; full of prizes to add to your permanent collection! For every win you get in your drafted lineup’s limited run, you will earn additional Ascension picks. With the high-stakes of a Draft run, you can expect some great rewards in this Ascension, including an exclusive Grand Prize Player each Season. And for Season 1: Call to Ball, that player is Pink Diamond Glenn Robinson

I was almost upset that my coffee tasted like dirt today

but then I remembered it was ground this morning.

Edit: Thank you guys for the awards, they're much nicer than the cardboard sleeve I've been using and reassures me that my jokes aren't stale

Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments
