I’m from Northern Kentucky (thankfully out of the path, I was very lucky), and my state in particular is struggling right now. A devastating storm has absolutely wreaked havoc on the southern portion of Kentucky and the states around it. Please keep the victims and first responders in your prayers!
Over the time period that I’ve been involved in meteorology (it’s been about 3 years), I have never witnessed anything like this. There’s something about looking at real radar images - of an absolutely devastating tornado - while it’s actually happening, that makes it emotionally difficult to process. I have almost no recollection of hearing about the Tuscaloosa EF4, the 2nd Moore EF5, or the Joplin EF5, but one thing’s for certain: I knew how bad this damage would be, even while the quad-state tornado was still ongoing. Never have I seen such strong debris signatures on radar. My condolences go fully to those affected by the outbreak. Thank you.
I haven't heard much of it. I only see all the OTHER groups helping EVERYONE. Even if WT came to help, they would only help other JWs. How sad.
Where I live we had 20 tornadoes touch down within an hour of us Friday night, then we're also less than a couple hours from where the really big ones hit in Kentucky. We had a couple touch down less than 5 miles of me so it was super intense there for awhile, giving me an insane anxiety and adrenaline rush that I feel like I haven't been able to shake. I'm not new to tornadoes, I've been in a handful including some really big ones. We didn't have any damage personally and after these storms I feel like it's a common feeling of "well we were okay so we're okay" and I am super grateful but I still can't shake the anxiety. It's incredibly heartbreaking seeing so much tragedy happen near where you used to live and so close to home, even if it's not people you know. I know a lot of my anxiety too is because I still haven't really caught up on sleep. That was at 3am Friday, then I didn't sleep Saturday, I slept some Sunday night but then not too well after that. Not sleeping well always makes my anxiety way worse.
It bugs me a little that it's like we're so used to disaster that everyone moves on so quickly. I don't feel like it's that uncalledfor to still be a little anxious after a big tornado outbreak like that at all but it's like I'm already getting the "ugh why do we have to talk about it" type of reaction if I say even the littlest thing about it. Even Monday when I get back to work my bosses were like "did you have a good weekend? Did you do anything fun? What do you mean you didn't do anything?!!" Like do you not live in the same place I do??? I'm sorry I didn't feel like going out Saturday, when power was still out all over the place and we were all in a tornado Friday night? Then I guess I still "looked tired" by Tuesday and it was like something must really be wrong with me if I look tired, how dare I look tired at work.
Anyway...can anyone relate? I guess I feel a little lame that this is bothering me, but like...I don't feel like I should feel that way either? I dunno.
They've sent me pictures and it truly feels unreal that I'll never get to be in that house again. So many wonderful memories. I don't think it'll really hit me until I see it in person.

Late at night on December 10th there was a outbreak of more than 26 tornadoes starting near where the Ohio River meets the Mississippi and crossing the borders of 5 states, resulting in over 100 casualties.
I can only imagine more destruction would befall the people of that area in the AprilsInAbaddon TL without forewarning or access to supplies.
The factions most affected would be:
• One of the few remaining Gadsden Militia cells
• The last of the KKK
• Southern EAWA
• Eastern FRA
Will the Sons of the South be able to expand into former KKK, FRA, and Gadsden territory? Can the EAWA aid their southern most regions while preoccupied with Dominion incursions? How will the Federal Republic of America respond to yet another nail in their coffin?
