A list of puns related to "Tiberius Ii"
Was Tiberius II the Tiberius the Second officially? Had Tiberius II taken this ordinal number in order to emphasize the continuity of a title of Augustus from the old times of ancient Rome or it is just something like consideration of modern historians: "Ok, let us count him as a second one"? The same question for Tiberius III. Thank you.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Just finished reading the book "Tiberius - A Study in Resentment" and I found a HUGE number of similarities between the Primarch of the Iron Warriors and the Roman Empire's second emperor, both personality-wise and who they grew to resent and despise, and why.
A part of me couldn't help compare the two. Tiberius was even as a young man referred to as 'the saddest of men', due in large part to his upbringing of living with his father, a senator with strong Republican leanings who was essentially exiled for life. And from the period of his father's death onwards, he was forced to essentially live with the two people whom he blamed for his father's misery and sadness: his mother and his step father.
Work-wise, he was a diligent and intelligent youth, and became an incredibly successful general, one of Rome's best actually due to his tactical acumen, but neither he nor Augustus ever got along. Augustus frequently promoted Marcellus or his own grandsons ahead of Tiberius, especially after Tiberius' brother's death, as it was often rumored that Drusus, his bro, was Augustus' own son. Whether it's true or not never seemed to affect Tiberius, who adores his brother and was said to be incredibly heartbroken by his death.
He was happily married to Vispania, Agrippa's daughter. However, when it became obvious that he was the only remaining choice for succession, despite Augustus looking for anyone else, Tiberius was forced to divorce his wife and marry Julia, Augustus' daughter, hence another reason for growing resentment towards the Julian family. Interesting note - Tiberius only had two children with Vispania, one of whom died shortly after birth, though they were married for 10 years, and it wasn't until over six or seven years they were married that she was pregnant with his son Drusus II (Castor), meaning several things:
This no doubt was one of the many, many issues between he and Julia (not counting her constantly humiliating him with her cheating), and when she wrote her letter to her father disparaging him it wasn't for his low birth or position (he was a Claudian and she was a Julian, they were nuovo riche where his was old nobility), it most likely had to do with his coldness and inability or unwillingness to consummate their relationship to her satisfaction.
Not to mention the fact that he genuinely loved Vispania and her marriage

Harry Potter: The name Harry is a medieval English masculine given name which derives from the name Henry, which means "home ruler" or "power." "To harry" (verb) can also mean "to destroy" (Horcruxes). Truly a badass name that fits our hero who defeated Voldemort.
James Potter: The name James is an English masculine given name which has the same origins as the name Jacob from the Bible. Both names mean "supplanter" (which means substitute), and one might think that James "supplanted" Snape's place in Lily's heart (IMO it's bs, I'm Team Jily all the way). This is most likely a coincidence, as James is a very common name in the English-speaking world.
Lily Potter (nΓ©e Evans): The name Lily is an English feminine given name that derives from the flower of the same name; lilies symbolise purity and innocence and are commonly used in funerals. In Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Snape's question, "What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?" has a deeper meaning. Asphodel is a type of lily and means 'remembered beyond the tombβ or βmy regrets follow you to the graveβ; in other words, Snape was telling Harry, "I bitterly regret Lily's death."
Petunia Dursley (nΓ©e Evans): In the Victorian language of flowers, petunias represent resentment and anger, reminiscent of Petunia's jealousy and resentment towards Lily.
Hermione Granger: The name Hermione is the feminine variation of Hermes, the name of the Greek god who represents knowledge and intelligence (also in astrology, Hermes/Mercury represents Gemini or Virgo, and Hermione is a Virgo born on 19 September). In addition, Hermione's initials, HG, is the chemical symbol for Mercury (Hermes's Roman name).
Ron Weasley: The name Ronald is derived from the Old Norse RΓΆgnvaldr, meaning "ruler's advice," a possible reference to Ron's status as the protagonist Harry (whose name means ruler)'s sidekick.
All the Weasleys' names originate from either the Arthurian legends (ex) Arthur, Percy/Percival, Ginny/Ginevra/Guinevere) or the names of British royals (ex) Molly/Mary, Bill/William, Charlie/Charles, Fred/Frederick, George). While the name Ronald recalls "Rhongomyniad," the name of King Arthur's spear, the fact that there are no characters from the Arthurian legends or British royals named Ronald highlights Ron's feeling of being left out as the onl

ROMAN ERA (read more here)
In 58 BCE, the Helvetii tried to evade migratory pressure from Germanic tribes by moving into Gaul, but were stopped and defeated at Bibracte (near modern-day Autun) by Julius Caesar's armies and then sent back. In 15 BCE, Tiberius and Drusus conquered the Alps, and the region became integrated into the Roman Empire: the Helvetii settlement area became part first of Gallia Belgica and later of the province of Germania Superior, while the eastern part was integrated into the Roman province of Raetia.

The Catholic Church, from at least the second century, has claimed that Christ was born on December 25. However, it is commonly alleged that our Lord Jesus Christ was not born on December 25. For the sake of simplicity, let us set out the usual objections to the date of December 25 and counter each of them. Objection 1: December 25 was chosen in order to replace the pagan Roman festival of Saturnalia. Saturnalia was a popular winter festival and so the Catholic Church prudently substituted Christmas in its place. Reply to Objection 1: Saturnalia commemorated the winter solstice. Yet the winter solstice falls on December 22. It is true that Saturnalia celebrations began as early as December 17 and extended till December 23. Still, the dates donβt match up. Objection 2: December 25 was chosen to replace the pagan Roman holiday Natalis Solis Invicti which means βBirthday of the Unconquered Sun.β Reply to Objection 2: Let us examine first the cult of the Unconquered Sun. The Emperor Aurelian introduced the cult of the Sol Invictus or Unconquered Sunto Rome in A.D. 274. Aurelian found political traction with this cult, because his own name Aurelianderives from the Latin word aurora denoting βsunrise.β Coins reveal that Emperor Aurelian called himself the Pontifex Solis or Pontiff of the Sun. Thus, Aurelian simply accommodated a generic solar cult and identified his name with it at the end of the third century. Most importantly, there is no historical record for a celebration Natalis Sol Invictus on December 25 prior to A.D. 354. Within an illuminated manuscript for the year A.D. 354, there is an entry for December 25 reading βN INVICTI CM XXX.β Here N means βnativity.β INVICTI means βof the Unconquered.β CM signifies βcircenses missusβ or βgames ordered.β The Roman numeral XXX equals thirty. Thus, the inscription means that thirty games were order for the nativity of the Unconquered for December 25th. Note that the word βsunβ is not present. Moreover, the very same codex also lists βnatus Christus in Betleem Iudeaeβ for the day of December 25. The phrase is translated as βbirth of Christ in Bethlehem of Judea.β[i] The date of December 25th only became the βBirthday of the Unconquered Sunβ under the Emperor Julian the Apostate. Julian the Apostate had been a Christian but who had apostatized and returned to Roman paganism. History reveals that it was the hateful former Christian Emperor that erected a pagan holiday on December 25. Think about that for a moment.

Leaked U.S. military footage from 2011 in Kandahar, Afghanistan show an encounter with a group of these Mal'akhim entities at night, as seen in the video above through a FLiR system. An A-10 Warthog is called in and fires precision laser-guided Sidewinder missiles at the objects, and the missiles reach them at 0:32 in the video. The missiles struck their mark and detonated straight into them. Shockingly, after the great force of being struck by an explosive detonation, the objects don't fall away or even budge slightly, continuing their course as if nothing had just occurred. The inexplicability of this event is jolting proof of the paraphysical and interdimensional nature of these objects, which are the entities themselves.
All of the aerial phenomena described and shown thus far actually stretches back throughout the entirety of recorded human history - from the cur
