A list of puns related to "Thorn Based"
So, I've been toying with the idea of creating a magic item with similar properties to the Thorn Ring from Deltarune Chapter II. This ring, in a general sense, gradually reduces HP while increasing other in-game stats.
Translating it to 5e, I think it would be cool if the ring allowed a player to upcast a spell by subjecting themselves to damage via little spikes that shoot out from the ring itself. However, I am struggling with figuring out the basic mechanical aspects of the item and wording it like a proper magic item description.
Any ideas as to how I can go about creating such an item? Any feedback is appreciated! Thanks!
I know that damage returned is based off of actual damage dealt after mitigation, but am not sure whether overkill damage is considered "damage dealt", or if it is solely based off of HP lost.
I'm specifically wondering if low-level Druid summons will return proper damage when killed.
Thoughts on this build and build order?? Have had good success with it so far in g1 elo. Anyone tried variations they like better?
It appears to drop green orbs on kills, which, when walked over, cause the same screen effect as a kill from Crimson, or various other healing effects. Overall, it looks very similar to Reaper's original healing ability in Overwatch.
Granted, there's no way of knowing if the orbs drop on every kill or just precision kills, since all the kills in the video, starting at about 7:24, are precision shots.
Also, based on the appearance of the enemies upon being shot, they do appear to glow green from the Mark of the Devourer effect, like in D1, so it looks like the signature perk will definitely be returning.
RPM looks high, anywhere from 150-170 at the very most, depending on how fast the person playing was pulling the trigger. In D1 I believe Thorn was close to 162 RPM, so it's entirely possible that it will have a unique RPM around 160 in D2.
Here's the ViDoc link for anybody who hasn't seen it, Thorn at 7:24
