In ep 10, Hari provide informations about the origin of conflict between Anacreon and Thespis. How can he knows about that? Surely, that's a secret the empire would not let loose.... He could have been lying about it, that would not be the first time, but i suspect he wasn't. He explained the true goal of the foundation was to cure people, not to gather information about tech ect... so his plan rely on some info he got. Could Demerzel have provided such info to Hari ? Afterall, she's the only one left to report those events. What do you think ?
The festival had begun. People gathered to feast and make sacrifices to the god Dionysus. Suddenly, a man took to the stage and did the unthinkable. He began to speak. This week in time, Thespis of Icaria became the first recorded actor of written tragedy. Sign up for the WeekInTime newsletter for weekly stories delivered to your inbox!

Hidey ho, neighbors. Welcome to MSU, home of the Bulldogs! If youβre an incoming freshman, or a transfer student, I highly recommend that you browse through the information below. If youβre new faculty/staff, it wouldnβt hurt for you to look at some of this as well. So much has changed in the last year(change is the only constant) that it is hard to keep up with everything. For a while it was just copy pasta and move along. Now I have to change and rewrite the information content every year. The biggest change from last year is (ominous music) The Cloud(Remember kids, The Cloud is just someone elseβs computer)! Back in January MSU moved our CMS to Canvas, which is hosted in the cloud. This past year we have also moved away from Microsoft Exchange on site and moved it to Office365, so Faculty/Staff email is now in the cloud. Donβt worry, you crazy kids still have Google which has been in The Cloud forever. Along with that we just recently moved away from Skype for Business, which was on site, to Microsoft Teams. Itβs hosted in...you guessed itβ¦..The Cloud.
Disclaimer: I work for ITS and can answer almost any question you may have about certain things regarding ITS. That being said, my thoughts and comments are my own, not ITSβ. For help with setup of devices and other general issues you should contact the [Service Des}(https://servicedesk.msstate.edu). The highly trained individuals there will get you setup in no time!
WIRELESS
eduroam
This is a federated service that allows all faculty, staff and students that visit another eduroam institution the ability to connect to their wireless infrastructure. Connect by using netid@msstate.edu as the username and your NetPassword for the password. Not only does it give you access to MSUβs network, this SSID is offered all over the world and when visiting friends at other universities, you will just connect automatically to their network. This will be our default 802.1x authenticated wireless option in the near future. If you are using msu1x, then you should forget that network and start using eduroam.
msu3
This is NO LONGER HIDDEN!! I REPEAT!! MSU3 IS NO LONGER HIDDEN!!! This SSID is used for getting devices that don't do 802.1x authentication onto the network. e.g. Xbox, Tivo... Because we have unhidden the SSID more devices will work. For example, some ROKUs had a horrible time connecting. They should work now. To use this servic

I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
I understand this is a story about cultures and civilizations and grand sweeps of history, And the narrator even tells you this is HER story in the latest episode, which means its not entirely factual or full of details ... ... but I can NOT get past the lazy details that show the writers don't actually understand technology or realistic depiction of some of the things they want us to see.
EXAMPLE : The SLOW ship that takes the foundation to terminus must be moving at 30? or more light years per day. (50k light years... 5 years of travel)
Anacreon and Thespis are neighbors to each other, and with a "SLOW" ship being able to traverse 30 lightyears a day -- why the hell did they put Anacreon and Thespis in the same view of a single small telescope on Terminus as though their neighboring planets? I mean there's a million reasons why a small tripod mounted telescope would never be able to see those planets in that orientation ... but there it is. The argument being, a slow ship that goes 30 light years per day would have about 85 individual stars with in 1 days travel (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_star_systems_within_30%E2%80%9335_light-years as an example). Why wasn't this a star map on a wall?
EXAMPLE : The Anacreons invade Terminus, set up a "flak cannon", and Salvor fails to mention that at all to the approaching imperial ship. And the approaching Imperial ship, despite being a top of the line jump ship, apparently has no combat landers, and has zero inclination to establish any sort of orbital awareness of the situation on the ground before landing. And where are these vaunted energy shields that the empire seems to have plenty of? A single ground cannon just punches right through that in one or two shots?
I've got no problems with a crack team of Anacreon heros being able to overcome or defeat the finest the empire can throw at them, but this was just lazy plot tools.
EXAMPLE : In the latest episode, when Salvor turns off the null field, immediately a flock of birds fly by... as though they were already in flight.
And almost immediately all of the armed Anacreons show up. Wasn't the vault on the horizon? (Why didn't Salvor drive there?).
Then the Thespian's land... AFTER one of their ships is commendeered by The huntress. The thespian pilots rolled over hard on that one, don't they check in with each other? Didn't t

It really does, I swear!
Hey! So I'm in high school and I am on stage crew for our school's theatre program. As a tradition before every show, the whole crew holds hands and "prays" to Thespis, the Greek god of theatre. No one really believes in Thespis, it's just a funny tradition before the show. Someone "prays" for us and asks for things to go well, often joking around. Is it a sin to participate in this?
I felt guilty about doing this, so sometimes I do the sign of the cross before this begins and under my breath, I repeat everything the leader is saying replacing "Thespis" with "Jesus". Does this make it okay? It's only a joke, but I don't want to sin for the sake of tradition.
Please help!
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Pilot on me!!
Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
What did 0 say to 8 ?

This morning, my 4 year old daughter.
Daughter: I'm hungry
Me: nerves building, smile widening
Me: Hi hungry, I'm dad.
She had no idea what was going on but I finally did it.
Thank you all for listening.
There hasn't been a post all year!
EDIT: And of course I mess up the title, should be Theosis
In philosophy class, after going over the concept of persons being persons by their own right, he contrasted this with animals such as dogs, in which they have no natural right to self ownership, or even in the case of dogs, have a natural state of ownership by humans. He then offhandedly mentioned how itβs analogous to how we will be like god, that we are gods due to being owned by God, and dogs being so close to humans and naturally dependent upon them almost take upon characteristics of persons.
How many times do we see dogs close to their owners behave in certain ways like a person and have the opportunity to experience certain things with their owner?
I may have butchered that, but I guess my analogy goes like this: just as dogs are naturally under obedience to Man, and that by nature they are to be with Man and serve him, and when dogs obey their nature they become close to humans, they receive Manβs love and affection, and are in the presence of Man and partake in certain actions of Man (nurturing, sleeping, playing), the same can be said for Man and his relationship to God. We are by nature meant to serve God, and if we do, we partake in the divine nature and become like god, but we donβt actually become God in Essence, just as dogs may partake with Man and be close to him but donβt actually become persons in their own right.
Hopefully this makes sense, please tear it up if it doesnβt. Itβs something I pondered for less than an hour, but I thought Iβd share it with you guys.
In the book Hari's plan for the first crisis was simple: after establishing a colony somewhere in the outer rim, some empire fragments will try to seize control of it, but the colony will buy them off with its advanced tech.
The show made the situation much more complicated than that. First, Hari somehow knew he's going to end up on Terminus, so he set up the Vault there in advance. Now, he obviously knew that there are Anacreon and Thespis nearby, but there was no fragmentation - the first crisis that he foretold came to be only after the Emperor bombed A and T, which he did after the terrorist attack on the Sky bridge.
Psychohistory cannot predict the individual's behavior as Hari stated himself. Thus the terrorist attack couldn't be predicted with psychohistory. And yet the whole crisis was built on it happening and on subsequent revenge from A and T.
There are two options at this point. Either Hari's plan is just a wishful thinking on par with "there is a terrorist attack on USA from Iran > USA attacks Iran" train of thought; I mean, it could happen in the sense that it's not impossible, but you can't base your predictions on it happening. Unless... you make it happen yourself. Stage the attack so that A and T take the fall. Also keep in mind that the Emperor decided to exile the group after the attack instead of just executing them; the terrorist attack happening at that exact time was absolutely crucial to Hari's plan. He needed it happen. He made it happen.
That would imply that Hari is a destabilizing element himself. He's actively turning the empire on itself. But to what end? Does he want the empire to fall? Does he want as an AI (which he planned on becoming) to become an everlasting ruler of the Second empire?
Thoughts?
When I got home, they were still there.
