As someone who’s fairly new to Criterion, and who absolutely LOVED Portrait of a Lady on Fire and very much enjoyed Marriage Story. How long does it usually take between the announcement and the actual release?
Absolutely phenomenal movie, Ralph already absolutely loves it, and it’s coming out online in the UK this Friday, and it’s playing in theaters in Vancouver for Adum. Would love to hear you guys talk about it

There's no point to this post, I'm just mad
I am gonna see Portrait of A Lady on Fire in theatres next month and I couldn't be more hyped. Since I don't have any cinephile friends I was originally planning to watch it on my own. After I told my mom that I was gonna see it alone, she didn't seem that excited about it, since she doesn't like the idea of a young guy (I am 16) going to a movie without any friends. So she sked if she could come along with me so I am not alone. I said yes, because I didn't wanna sound mean. Unfortunately, since I heard that the movie is pretty erotic I am a little afraid that it'll get uncomfortable (it's not about the lesbian stuff, more about the fact that watching a simple sex scene with your mom is pretty uncomfortable).
So I just wanted to ask, is it appropriate to watch it with my mom? I just don't want to watch something similar to "The Handmaiden" for example with my mom. (I love the handmaiden, I'd just never ever watch it with my mom)(Spoiler-Free please)
