Tengen is the fastest Hashira and the 2nd strongest physically, bested by Gyomei. Had Tengen not been poisoned, got his mark, and went through the Hashira training, he would've been MUCH stronger. Possibly stronger than Sanemi. Gyutaro is VERY strong and could easily beat UM5 and maybe even UM4(decent chance imo). Loses to akaza though.
I just get so confused when people think he's one of hte weakest hashira when they're comparing endgame to him... I think I even recall the anime stating that gyomei, sanemi, and tengen were the strongest hashira? I'd have to rewatch it.

I mean Tengen had requirement of female corps member ,
Shinobu and Mitsuri most probably could been way more effective to disguise and find his wifes
Edit:At least he should have asked about it since maybe they are free and can be agreed also because I feel like he is senior than them
