Good views of the Sudbury Basin?

Looking for some good places for a view as I pass through. Already planning on visiting Onaping falls. Maybe something in the north / east?

Inventus Mining - by far the most interesting project I have seen so far this year

Whether or not you are interested in this stock as an investment, it is an absolutely fascinating company which is really two projects in one. Type of thing that gets you excited if you are at all into geology. First of all, they are working on a theory that there are actually two Sudbury (nickel-copper-PGE) basins - the one that has produced a trillion dollars of metals over the past century, and an adjacent "undiscovered" one to the Northeast. They are calling it Sudbury 2.0. Secondly, there is a paleoplacer gold conglomerate in the area - a type of deposit akin to Witwatersrand in its origin.

The company is being run by one of Robert McEwen's proteges, and McEwen himself is quite heavily invested. A small bulk sample from the paleoplacer (called Pardo) has already gone through the McEwen Mining Black Fox concentrator east of Timmins with good results. They now have permitting for a 50,000 ton bulk sample, which in itself is about $12 million of gold if it comes out anything like the smaller sample they processed, more than enough to finance the sample itself with some spare change left over, and they are putting together a maiden resource estimate.

This company is a longshot, but not a crazy longshot. If either one of the projects "hits" then today's price is a joke. The stock is quite illiquid, though. You can't buy and sell without losing about 10% on the exchange, so this is NOT for a person who wants to flip stocks. It's also hugely insider-heavy, so they are not really too interested in advertising, writing press releases, or heavy self-promotion. That is probably why they have managed to operate for a few years now without coming across my radar. I have taken a position just due to the sheer magnitude of the possibilities.

Canada's Ring Of Fire.........https://northernontario.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=1913277

General Discussion

Posting here to make known the future of Canada's resource future the Ring Of Fire.

This will be a mining camp on par with Sudbury and the Big Nickel. Battery minerals galore and North America's only source of chromite for stainless steel. A multigenerational mining camp to kickstart EV battery production and a new stainless steel industry. Critical minerals for Canada and the USA. This is not a short play but a chance to get in at the start of Canada's new oilsands. The main player is Noront TSXV ticker NOT. Don't let the stock price fool you. When after more than a decade of slow progress when the province of Ontario, the federal government of Canada and the surrounding first nations, the Matawa, finally come to agreement on partnerships and profit sharing the ring will finally ignite.

Spend some time googling 'ring of fire ontario' to see the effort to open this mining camp.

He is considered the top specialist in magmatic ore deposits in Canada and is well-respected globally. That does not include Noront’s nickel, copper, and PGM mine. Nickel is a key ingredient in electric vehicle batteries and most analysts predict that the metal will be in short supply as the auto sector transitions to this form of power in the coming decades.

In fact, the potential for further discoveries in the Ring of Fire of nickel, rare earths, vanadium and other metals needed for the green transition society is embracing over the next few decades β€” that will lower global greenhouse gas emissi

DAD JOKES ARE NOT DIRTY.

Go post NSFW jokes somewhere else. If I can't tell my kids this joke, then it is not a DAD JOKE.

If you feel it's appropriate to share NSFW jokes with your kids, that's on you. But a real, true dad joke should work for anyone's kid.

Mods... If you exist... Please, stop this madness. Rule #6 should simply not allow NSFW or (wtf) NSFL tags. Also, remember that MINORS browse this subreddit too? Why put that in rule #6, then allow NSFW???

Please consider changing rule #6. I love this sub, but the recent influx of NSFW tagged posts that get all the upvotes, just seem wrong when there are good solid DAD jokes being overlooked because of them.

Thank you,

A Dad.

This new mineral district is often compared to the Sudbury Basin, the largest and longest producing mining region in Canada. The current amount of mineral resources found to date in the Ring of Fire ensures that production will provide multi-generational employment and economic opportunities for the surrounding Aboriginal communities.

In addition, the many mineral-rich, east-west running greenstone belts to the west of this massive deposit also have the potential of further discoveries of nickel, copper, and other battery metals, as well as gold, as the geology is similar to the rich gold mining camps in Timmins, Kirkland Lake, Red Lake, and the Hemlo district.
