>Dear campus community,
>The recent development from the Department of Homeland Securityβs Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) regarding the status of international students is troubling. The COVID-19 pandemic has already put added pressure on all students, with many international students having to navigate the uncertainty several thousand miles away from their homes and families. We know the recent changes to SEVP produces additional stress and uncertainty that has rippled across our campus community, affecting international students who are part of our Spartan family. I share in the great concern of our faculty, staff and student peers who care deeply about our international students.
>SJSU will continue to search for and implement solutions that meet this new criteria presented by SEVP. Our International Student and Scholar Services Office in the College of Professional and Global Education is among the many campus departments that are gathering information on the new guidelines and connecting with our international students to assist them with questions and concerns.
>It is particularly crucial to remind the campus community that SJSU is implementing a hybrid course offering (in-person and online) in the fall as we adhere to public health guidelines that will keep our campus community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our university housing will operate around 50 percent capacity and several campus services will be open for students, faculty and staff who will be on campus. International students and their pursuit of a higher education degree should not be hampered by the circumstances caused by COVID-19, especially when there are opportunities for student life available on campus in the fall.
>I firmly believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to pursue a degree in higher education, and given that we are all members of the San JosΓ© State University community, I know this is a shared belief that unites us. As the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted, the bonds created and shared while on campus and online with classmates, colleagues and friends are as important as those we make virtually.
>Sincerely,
>Mary A. Papazian >President

I am an economics major exchange student in England and Iβm here for just one year 2020-2021, and I really want to work in this country and Iβve been applying, but no one is employing. My original school is in Italy, but I donβt speak Italian which is why I donβt want to work there. I need a way to stay in the UK after my exchange period is done in August. Any Advice? Help!
Hi, I'm 16 and from Singapore currently studying as Secondary 3. I am going to finish my secondary education next year after my O-Levels and I'm planning to do an exchange program after that. However, I'm very new to it and not sure about the application process. I am interested to do an exchange program to Uk. Happy to know where and how I can apply for it in Singapore! Have a nice day and take care! :)

On the basic side, IYLEP is an exchange program for Iraqi students but on the complicated side, IYLEP seems to be something much deeper than whatβs actually stated on the website because it simply sounds too good to be true for me.
I have so many questions about it:-
Is there anything I need to know about IYLEP thatβs not mentioned on the IYLEP website?
Are there any unstated requirements for IYLEP that arenβt mentioned on the website?
When will we be approximately able to apply IYLEP it in 2021 for 2022βs IYLEP?
Does IYLEP actually give young Iraqi students aged 15-17 the opportunity to temporarily leave Iraq to the US? Or do they just disappointingly get sent to Iraqi Kurdistan to meet Iraqis who speak English instead of meeting actual outsiders?
Are there any dangers related to IYLEP/outside of IYLEP (e.g. society looks down upon IYLEP participants)?
Do I need to be from an internationally recognised βinternationalβ Iraqi HS in order to participate in IYLEP or can I be an average Iraqi student from an average local Iraqi school that just happens to fit the IYLEP requirements?
What type of people choose IYLEP?
Is it actually hard to be accepted into IYLEP? If so then how many Iraqi HS students get accepted into it?
These questions seem like they can be easily answered but Iβm asking them just to check. Iβm trying to gather as much information as possible on IYLEP even if that information may or may not be unnecessary.
To be honest, I'm kinda worried and nervous for the interview cuz I'm afraid I'm gonna fuck dis up and waste my chance on studying abroad, can y'all help me? If yes then, Do y'all have any advice on how to nail this interview? Do y'all have any idea on what questions I should ask the interviewer? Wish me luck guys
According to my dad who did one to Germany in his junior year all that you had to pay for was the airfare there and back. You get sent to a host family and the host family sends their kid over to your family. But looking at exchange stuff now it is all so expensive, are there any tradition exchange programs?
#Student Exchange
A survey was posted only to the house common rooms only, as they will be the users affected by any sort of exchange program. By majority vote (91.6% of responses voted βIn Favorβ), the Student Exchange Program will begin in upcoming months!
Expect to see a detailed post in your common room for our first exchange in January 2020 when applications open. Exchange students will be sent to their exchange houses in the month following each House Challenge. By this, we hope to avoid any awkward overlap in which a student would be able to compete in a challenge which they helped plan, or in which a student is in an exchange house while that house is planning their own challenge, which would subject them to spoilers.
Therefore, the months of 2020 are going to look as follows:
January - Slytherin Challenge
February - Student Exchange
March
April - Gryffindor Challenge
May - Student Exchange
June
July - Hufflepuff Challenge
August - Student Exchange
September
October - Ravenclaw Challenge
November - Student Exchange
December
The people that requested the exchange βwith modificationsβ all suggested the same thing - that house discords be included in the exchange. The Heads of House have discussed this and decided that ALL houses will be required to add the exchange student to their discord server in some capacity. We will, however, allow each house to decide amongst themselves the extent of which this is done. Some houses might choose to keep their personal support channel private, some might choose to create a new channel for points activities for the exchange student so they donβt have to halt challenge chatter, etc.
#Rankdown 4.0
The newest rankers have all been chosen and offered basic introduction to their upcoming project. They have elected to begin ranking in January 2020 in order to keep the pressure off during the holidays. Expect /r/hprankdown4 to open before the new year!
