A list of puns related to "Stands For Decibels"
Is there a specific reason? Is it just because in scientific practice, the decibel is more commonly useful? Don't they use fractions of decibels there, too? Why not centibels? Why not bels?
The crowd sounds like a jet engine. I still get chills from these.
And then it explodes
I bought an indoor trampoline which has turned out to be really noisy (55 decibels) when right next to it.
It isn't quite so loud from other rooms of the house (drops to around 45 - 50), but when I test for noise against my neighbours wall the volume has barely dropped).
I often hear louder sounds from their house (young kids playing, mother yelling at them) and they keep their back door open all day.
So with this knowledge, is it possible to estimate how disruptive my sound would be to them if I used the trampoline for 1 hour every day?
Thank you

Here's an interesting factoid. Basically almost the level of a rock concert.
101-125 dB Extremely Loud. 110 decibels and over is the level at which other sounds canβt really be heard. Aircraft takeoff, trains, and very loud concerts would fall into the 110+ decibel level

So one thing that I continuosly struggle with is getting the right level of volume for my dialogue in comparison to my background music. Ive never had anybody in my comments complain about it, i have good average time duration, the wide majority of my videos have a 95%+ thumbs up ratio, but I notice when I listen to my video something is off.
Yesterday I posted a video and I set the decibels between -6 and -12, but it sounded too quiet. What do you all set yours at, and also how do you go about setting the background music's volume?
SoCal I-405 freeway, no significant wind outside (other than car speed), at around 75 mph. My iPhone decibel reader app was showing around 71-73 dB.
Iβm going to do the painters tape trick but I also was wondering if anyone has measured their noise levels. Iβve seen other threads in different forums but wanted to get feedback here.
Decibel Outdoors will be my first big festival ever. I'll be travelling from Sweden, and I'm still not 100% sure on what to pack. So my question is, what are some things I absolutely must bring?
Hello. I have a problem with noisy upstairs neighbors that emit a loud/whistle squeal sound all day and night and it wakes me up in the middle of the night. This is an ongoing problem and I am trying to collect evidence for my building manager. (The tenants deny it is them, but i know better).
Anywho, I wanted your opinion on the best meter to use in this situation. I plan to leave a camera near my ceiling and focus it on a clock and the meter, so when the sound goes off you can see the time and either the decibel level or frequency in Hz. The unit would need to operate on an outlet since a 9-volt or other battery would waste if left on all day/night. It needs to be able to stay on overnight, as i record to my computer.
If you can recommend a good meter that suits this purpose, please let me know. Also if you have a better idea of how i could be going about this, please let me know. (best webcam, strategy here, etc... anything!)
Thank you!
I know what it means to go 25 mph (or km, sort of) versus 100 MPH (or knots, if I was a sea captain) I even have a idiot level grasp of ohms Ξ© for my 4Ξ© speakers (they like power and do better with power) but, I have no idea what it means to loose .5db versus 100db on coaxial cables. I thought db was for decibels? How is that a cable signal(?) measure? Wait, does that mean, the loss you incur with splitters is mostly all about audio? But, with DTV over coax, how is that possible?
What is the scale? (The decibel scale for volume with AV gear is annoyingly hard to use versus one like 0-10 on a dial.) If this is the measure for coax, what is the maximum? (Perhaps in this case, for human use and consumer electronics capability versus NASA use.) What is a db in this case and why does my antenna or coax have db? Saying you loose db means nothing to people who are not electrical engineers. Can someone explain it? Pretend I am 7 years old. I am 7 years oldβ¦ actuallyβ¦
A character who utilizes sound to their advantage -
Passive - Quiet, undetectable movement.
Tactical - Silences all your gunfire for 15 seconds, 1 min cool down.
Ultimate - Sound Grenade - bombard an enemy with a cacophony of sounds. Bullets, bombs, and ults. Lasts for 15 seconds. Enemies will not be able to hear you or your teammates approach and attack.
Thoughts?

Decibel is a music sharing platform that allows you to share your favorite music with your friends, regardless of whether each of you use Apple Music or Spotify. It features live collaborative playlists and a unique take on music social media that I think anyone who loves listening to music would enjoy.
Features:
- Create Setlists with your friends and listen to songs together in real time. Let a friend play the music from their device, or listen with each other from your individual devices from across the world. All while staying on the same beat.
- Perfect for parties, road trips, events, and hangouts - start a Setlist to let your guests pick and vote on songs. The more that a song gets voted up, the sooner it will be played. Show off your latest favorites at gatherings and share tunes with friends. Can't make the party? Listen in from your own device and don't miss a thing.
- Show your friends the music youβve been listening to lately by posting mixes, collections of 3-5 songs, on the Feed. Friends may upvote and comment on the mixes or favorite them, saving them to their own profiles for later listening.
I would love to hear any feedback you might have so that it can be incorporated into the next version of the app. Feel free to follow @DecibelApp on Twitter and @decibel.app on Instagram. Thanks!
I want to take care of my eardrums. I use a decibelsmeter to set some kind of nomansland after x % but I'd prefer a accurate version which is aware of the volume on the fly. Thanks!
Does anyone have any suggestions for a replacement for Decibel Audio Player?
I run Debian/Bunsen Labs on an old netbook that works as a glorified jukebox. I really like Decibel since I keep my very large music collection well organized and any program that indexes and creates a database of all the files really slows down the netbook. I just like being able to use a gui to browse the file structure and queue up a playlist.
I've tried compiling Decibel as well. It compiles and installs, but doesn't play.
Thanks for the help.
