The last week, maybe even the last two, I got a bit into baking bread. Two days ago, I made my very first starter :D
I named him Conni :) after his first day, he didn't do much. But now, on his second, he bubbles a bit, and I'm very excited about every little bubble!
Since he didn't do anything after his first day, I sometimes talked to him, and told him that I believe in him :)

I'm making a sourdough starter from scratch for my husband as a gift (he wants to start baking sourdough!) and it's traditional to give your starter as name, as it develops it's own character and can live for decades.
I love puns, so that would be fun eg. 'Clint Yeastwood' 'All you knead is love'
But I also like the idea of a name that reflects 'love', or 'forever', or 'eternal' etc. I like the word 'perpetual'. I think no longer than 2 words would be best, so it is kinda like an actual name.

I flared this as a pet name because it's technically alive. And it needs a name.
I am looking for something… bready? Something that evokes hearth and home. Or even a pun would be fine!
I considered Fornax, a Roman goddess of baking, but her name sounds sexual to me, and whatever I choose will be prominently displayed on the jar. I'm not disqualifying the name based on that, but I want to see what other ideas people can come up with.

I'm still learning but I'm improving! Left is my 2nd attempt at slashing my sourdough with a razor. I don't have a Dutch oven so I sprayed the oven with water as soon as I put the dough on my pizza stone. Any tips/advice/feedback would be appreciated! I want a twin peaks themed name for my sourdough starter. I’m thunking something like Doughra Palmer, Doughvid Lynch, or Diane Levains (leavens).
Any idea on what to choose? I’d hope to have a pun on a name. But I have trouble making a name that would fit.
