A list of puns related to "Shankill Butchers"
Hey folks,
Oisin here from The Troubles Podcast. This is just an update as the last few episodes of my podcast has been well received here.
I've just released an episode all about the Shankill Butchers who were the most prolific serial killers in British and Irish history. There are 23 murders that are attributed to the gang, but many more are rumoured.
You can find it on all major podcast apps but just in case, here's a direct link to the episode:

I'm always happy to discuss the episodes, but please keep it civil, otherwise, this thread will get deleted by the mods.
Hello there! Iβm just someone who stalks this subreddit, but recently Iβve gotten a fascination with the Shankill Butchers case. As someone who lives in Northern Ireland, this is quite a well-known and popular case over here. I was wanting to know how you all feel about the case, since you all seem to be pretty well knowledgeable on crime.
I know the PIRA ended up killing Murphy in '82 but were there any acts against Protestants or the UVF prior to that? It strikes me as unlikely that there were none since the Butchers actually committed some of their killings as retaliation for IRA murders.
This goes out to all you Irish Historians! I know that the Shankill Butchers actually planned some of their murders for retaliation against the killings of the IRA, but did the converse ever happen? Yes, the PIRA killed Murphy in 82 but I feel like there has to be more than that?
Afternoon all!
Other half got me "6000 days" as a xmas gift & I'm powering through it rightly - just wondering if you guys had any suggestions for something similar (either side) I have Operation Demetrius on my Amazon list already.
Doesnt need to be prison themed by the way lol
Do you know some songs about true crime? There is a lot of just crime like all Misfits or Nick Cave's but I think i don't know any about true events. Can you help?
I forgot about Jeremy...
The latest episode (478) when they where taking about murder rate in Mexico being almost written off as business reminded me of my dad telling me about the prison release of the good Friday agreement.
As he put it a large number of psychopaths who used the cover of the troubles to murder where being released.
Michael stone is one that comes to mind. micheal stone
Also we had the shankhill butchers, but they where mostly executed by their own side for being out of control. shankhill butchers
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
