Absolutely loved the show as a kid. I have the English version. But the hindi dubbing was top class. Need to know if it is on internet anywhere.
I was watching many many videos from yesteryears and listening to these stalwarts itself gives the goosebumps. All these leaders had shortcomings, something that is natural of human beings.But, these were individuals so scholarly. These folks had the intellectual capacity take on any questions and speak coherently. After listening to them and to their biography and I am saddened at the current crop of national leaders. Really saddened.
Saw a news article of how Vajpayee credited Rao for the Nuclear tests. Can we imagine Modi crediting anything to previous governments ? or anyone in the current opposition doing anything similar if they come to power!

I was thinking:
- If leaders DON'T make a country what it is - what then? No 1-leader can create a country out of thin air - which implies, it's the ordinary people and their quality that needs to be assessed?
- If Indians AS A NATION are corrupt good-for-nothings, then even a good leader is weakened/made-corrupt by virtue of associating with such people - yes?
Therefore, what if the Soviets after determining that Indians as a nation, were a bunch of ignorant and greedy cheats decided to collude with the USA and allow this corruption to thrive in India?
Indira Gandhi was allowed to rise to power - they must have known what sort of a person she was/the Nehru family dynasty.
End result - modern India - very corrupt, very weak, ready for a wholesale slaughter in a war with the USA/USSR.
Which is why I feel zap-and-study is important for the world.. if a bunch of corrupt thugs plan on ruling the world BY FRIGHTENING the worlds population into doing stupid things/slavery - we/everyone might as well get a good scientific education in the process so that we can resist the plotting scumbags better.
